Hi
Well I can not drink coffee cos it gives me bangin migraines so I just sat back relaxed stuck the headphones on and let these glitchy sounds bounce around in my head I really enjoyed the track.
Regards
Krook
As usual,u amaze me.You have a raw talent that just captures my imagination and takes me to better places.Having bipolar disorder,I know where you're coming from trying to get off the anti depressants
But lets face it,the best muso's are all fuc-k-ed in the head!I think that's what gives the inspiration.Just my two cents worth, but love the track, regardlesss!!
I'm really glad that you could identify with this track. Thanks for the kind words! I would agree that a lot of inspiration comes from the internal issues we deal with. Thanks for stopping by to listen!
Thank you very much for the kind comments! Definitely has a lounge vibe to it. I keep trying to tell my wife that her words work really well with this beat, but she doesn't like to hear her voice recorded. Hopefully she lets me put it on the album! Thanks for stopping by to listen to my tracks!
i like this man , dub is all about diversity and experimentation and this was to say the least intresting ..lol, the voice really made me think of " planet rock" i dont know why but it was really cool man
Cool, I'm glad you enjoyed it, or atleast found it interesting. I'm not familiar with "Planet Rock", unfortunately I'm a little out of touch. Thanks for your comments and support!
Hmm...i definitely liked where the track was headed with the heavy drumz and all...but when the bassline kicked in...idk...maybe i was expecting a hard, more heavy pounding beat, and when the bassline came in, its all happy and stuff...threw me off...thought it would be better off a harder beat with harder lines...idk man...not my cup of coffee...pun intended... 7.5/10 for production...im not gonna be a jew cus i didnt like it...it WAS a good production...
Sorry to disappoint, this is definitely missing the hard stuff. This one is more like a signature track, and thus it's all happy and stuff like you said. I think this track would be a good candidate for a remix, fresh with clap lines and a harder bass beat. Thanks for listening and reviewing!
I am just getting around to review tracks from your listening to my last Techno-trance tune. Been real busy working all the time. No new tunes until Dec.
Anyways, I like this electronic tune you put together. Almost sounds like Robots did it. I've never tried an all electronic tune, but you did a nice job putting this one together.
Thanks for sharing it.
Randy
on the midi drums....
I would boost them... actually, I would dub the drums, and create a couple drum tracks, but CUT the volume, big time, but then add volume incrementally, so the whole musical piece would come into it's own...
just personal...
My thing with dub.. and ... I am sooo sorry spvkurl but i got to be real...
is how.. dub is so condescending!
oh?
you don't get dub?
well FUNK you!
lol
I mean.. dub, which is ... a disciple of reggae?....
they claim something outside of capitalism?
...
is not that the case of reggae and dub?
smoke pot and grow plants? lol
YOU KNOW WHAT
...
I like the song..
but i want to be bold and dumb ...
SCREW THAT!
I want to sell my soul, for 8 dollars an hour! and BUY things I LOVE at walmart!
sorry
i am hella aggro...
I like it a lot.. but I need more depth, and I don't feel it.
Hey, don't worry about being honest and real, it's good to hear the other side of things once in a while.
I know this track lacks some depth, and I think I know why... I don't get dub, I just don't fully understand it. I like to think that what matters is that I try.
So, you're not alone, this track is missing something. Thanks for your comments!
lol had to smile at this man
Wicked effort, pretty out there but still quality
Not sure what can be improved its all good quality stuff
Keep it up man
God Bless
Steve
on the drum dynamics.. that snare? .. it woulda kinda been cool.. with an additional clap -- DEAD center, but like -12 dbs at least, so it's just a faint thing in the center of my stereo sound....?
this clap.. i feel.. when it would be brought up in the crescendos of your flow, may really OPEN up the groove, making people dance! lol
anyway
just a thought...
I wish I could write some music like this!
faved, downloaded, recommended!
lol...
it would be fun to have just random conversations sped up to double time to increase the feeling of jitteriness this has!
Good stuff. This sounds like it was fuelled by stimulants ( of the legal variety of course ), obviously a man after own heart with regard to excessive coffee consumption. This has your trademark "jumping" beat which adds interest.
Thank you much for the listen! Yeah, I can't get enough espresso... caffiene is often so audible in musical creations. I'm glad you can hear my signature on this one. I appreciate the review and the feedback!
You must have huge brass nads dude !!! Outstanding experiment. I swear, anything you do is gold - musical art in a true form - pushing beyond normal boundries. Well done Spiv !
Hehehe, thank you so much for the compliments! I have been watching the Mighty Boosh lately, maybe I took inspiration from them without realizing it. I really appreciate the support!
Very experimental feel to this. Strange meter to it, it kind of lopes or hops along. Is that your wife singing in the background? If it is, she's becoming a staple part of the spivkurl sound. I think your voice could do with some reverb and possibly other treatments, maybe phaser or flanger? - good work.
Aha, a great funky Track :D I like mostly the Bassline, sometimes it sounds like a Track from "DaAcid" ... damn i forgot the Title.
However, i like it :D
The difference is subtle, but I think it's better with the extra treatments. I think the volume on the bass could come up a little, it's a little buried in the mix and its such a great hook of a bass line. This track just gets better with listening - sure sign of a great track.
I'm glad that you like the changes that I've made. Thanks for the suggestion about the bass, maybe I need to balance things out a bit. Thanks for your help!
Nice electro/reggae feel on this one!
The vocals are good, but a little monotone, could use a little more accentuation, but her voice is nice, and i understand how it can be working with somone who is not a musician, when you have a vision its not always easy to get another two uderstand it! the monotone thing does work, but a little more emmotion would go a long ways!
Pretty good all around though, definatly a very reggae bassline!
Thanks for stopping in! I think it may be monotone just because it was a reading from a written work, not intended for a song at all. She is/has been a musician at times too, and has offered to record some things specifically for use in songs. Thanks for the helpful review!
This is quite good Spiv. It's got a nice compelling beat and melody. It's the kind of thing I might hear in a Beat club of the late 60's. You know, the ethereal poetry reading in a SF bookstore with the very cool beat music playing in the background. Original. Nice stretch.
I know what you mean about the beat club, my wifes words really add to that vibe. She makes some great prose and poetry. Thank you very much for listening and commenting!
This was super fun! Moring 4:2- sesh went down super smoov wit dis on the lickle stereo. I liked Nomad's review for you, but to push even a step further I'd don't clean it up, make it even rawer! I know that's a hard sound to conquer, but this track could go 1 step beyond with this:
slow it down 10 bpm
sample and resample a couple of the parts (organs, plucked guit) and send em thru a bit stauratin filter to phatten and distort the sounds, then maybe add a room style reverb to em or even a mid range delay set to some long drawn out groove, 5/4 :)
I might have to take this mix in two different directions, and see what I come up with. I'm concerned how the vocals would work out to drop to 100 BPM. I know I could stretch them, but that leaves so many artifacts. Who knows maybe it would sync up better at a slower tempo.
Still sounds like Spivkurl even under the dub umbrella. Cool.
Good stuff happening here, and the bass is an instant hook. I love how the bent circuitry responds to it. Such a great groove develops that holds it all together.
I wonder if dubbifying it further might push it closer to the edge. It's a personal aesthetic, and this is lovely as is. I can't help but wonder though what would happen if perhaps her vocals delayed out at the end of each stanza, for instance. Or if there was more reverb and delay on the snare. One of the things I really love about old dub was how much bleedthrough there was with the amps and tracks. I think it gave it this complete or inseparable quality.
Still, this is fantastic, and I hope you play around with this style some more!
3 Nov addition: Yeah man! The further dubifications are fantastic. The echo on the vox is exactly as I imagined! Nice extension of verb, too. Sweet, very sweet.
Thanks for listening man! I'm sorry to say there's no circuit bent stuff going on in this track, But it does have good groove I'd agree.
I might have to do some experimenting with making this track a bit less raw, with some effects or something. There's so much that could be done, but I don't want to ruin a good thing.

Robots, eh? I guess it is a bit mechanical. Glad you could enjoy it though.

I will give some thought to your idea of adding a clap sound to this song, it sounds kind of fun. :)
Thanks much for the fave! This track was all in good fun really, so I'm glad it's fun to listen to.

Funny you ask about my wife, because it's not her, it's me. I pitched my voice way up for the background vocals. The sound just worked for me.
The vocals do have some verb, and the backup has some delay and flange. I just tend to go light o the effects... maybe I should turn the FX up a bit.
Thanks for listening, and your suggestions!

Fits really the rest of the Track. Sounds are Crazy :P
I miss a lil'bit deeeep reggaechords (you must know i love reggae :D) with a touch of reverb, but that is what i think.
No, a cool nice Track
cheers Frank
Some reggae chords would be cool, I just couldn't tell what kind of instrument would sit well in this mix. It might not be quite finished though.
I appreciate your support and comments! Thanks much!
