on 2 Guitar Folky Shuffle by DanielGtrman
your guitars sound so perfect. your playing is so crisp. Do you mic them? To me it sounds as though you have them plugged in through the pick up under the saddle. do you ever try to combine them? I have pretty shady guitars so ive been trying to blend the sound from different sources. Anyway you obviously don't have that problem cause your stuff sounds perfect to me.
this ones going in my favs.
thanks for the trip

Thanks again for reviewing this one also. my favorite guitar is the one in my main profile pic (oval sound hole and cutaway) its a Vantage electro-acoustic bought for me in 1992. The EQ on this is amazing, as is the sound. I liked it from the moment I played it in the shop. Having had the action lowered the sound improved, but I think the bridge pick-up is the winner in the sound dept. Not sure what manufacture it is. Fishman I think. It's worth checking out Fishman bridge pick ups as some of them come with the EQ pack for the guitar also. The only other guitars that come close to the sound and playability I like are the "Faith" ones made by Patrick Eggle. Excellent electro-acoustic guitars....anyhow....I've rambled too long. but thanks again.

on Country Rock Shindig by DanielGtrman
Hi Daniel,

Thanks for reviewing one of my recent tunes. I appreciate it.

I like your country tune here. I guess you could call it country disco since it isn't exactly 2/4 time. Interesting use of the guitars. I like everything you did to this tune in making it. Well done.

In case you might be interested, I am working on a 'gunfight at the OK corral' type of tune that I will upload shortly. I am sure you like the quality of it.

Nice job you did with this tune. Take care and have fun.

Daniel,
I had this track playing in my studio as the sun fell softly onto the dusk desert mountains west of Phoenix.
The perfect sound track to welcome the night.

on 12 String Jam + 6 String marmalade by DanielGtrman
Hi Daniel,

Nice 12 string playing. Perhaps you also heard my 12 string track. Mine is a Fender solid electric tho with clean and distortion sounds in the medley I made up.
I used to own a 1966 model, should have kept it.

Anyways, I like your playing style. 12 strings are hard enough on the fingers. I tune mine down to a 'D' chord so that makes it easier on the fingers And the neck.

Nice job again and thanks for posting so we all could hear your playing style.

on Rock blast sample thing !! (experimental) by DanielGtrman
Hello Daniel,

Nice guitar playing here. I enjoyed hearing what you did with just a plain basic beat. The bass and drums are fine. As far as levels, it depends on what a person is listening to your song with. A good stereo or 3" computer speakers. Maybe headphones, and I know they are all different.

Good job and thanks for listening to my tunes as well.

Music has to played through a decent speaker set-up if you want to hear what the composer intended, your track made my base cones rattle 'cos I kept turning it up and up. Thanks for giving my track a blast.

on Hopeful - (emotions 2) by DanielGtrman
While this is not quite the major key exercise that I anticipated, it nonetheless fits right in with the description that you gave it. Sonically, you have again achieved a brightness and tone that is rewarding and easy to listen to. Very nice indeed. I like the brief foray into trem picking at the end. Peace, Six

I love the simple elegance of this track. I am a big fan of subdued guitar playing (as it is something that I am often not capable of...haha.) Sonically this track is very rewarding. Great relaxed feel and a lot of resolution musically makes this a winner to me! Peace, Six

on Looking back.... by DanielGtrman
Very crisp clean sound, mix, reminds me of somthing that would play after a break up in a movie, when the characters are mooping, trying to pick up the peices, regather themselves ect..
The chords you used are very relaxing & contrast each other very nicely! the ending wasnt bad but the last electric note you should have rang it out really long even into feedback possibly then fade it out with vol control, or just do a classic volume fade a bar or so earlier, but yhea a very clean relaxing track all around!
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
Thanks for reviewing. You have a good point about letting the ending note ring out long. It would have had more dramatic effect. I appreciate constructive comments like this from such as yourself. You have a good perception of a producer who can visualize a mix and what will work effectively.

you rock socks and non-bad words like pussy and bass.

lol good stuff man... Great stuff..

Just think and pose the question at me, why aren't I making a shit shit shit ton of money with my skills?

"""Well, personally, I don't think I am that good... I really don't feel my songs have a whole lot of depth or sound."""

Don't say anything like that... I was listening to your song, right now, and i felt like saying that about my own music.
You have depth in ideas and changes...

Keep it up, I think the reverb is wayy shitty tho.
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
thanks for reviewing. I always appreciate comments here, and reverb is my arch enemy. works on some tracks but not on others, how much to use, leave out. Still learning,. The day we stop learning is the day we stop growing. Thanks again

on Rock blast sample thing !! (experimental) by DanielGtrman
Hi Daniel! Well it's the first time I'e dropped by your page and checked out your stuff. Wow man! You can't beat a good rock jam! Some really tasty licks and riffs cooking. I'd be interested to know what amp/settings you used to get that lead sound. Me likes...

Cheers Slap...
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
Cheers slap. I've been called some things but never fuzz face. that's a world first ! I cook my lead guitar 2 ways = first is a VST plug in on a programme called DSound GT player express, but is also a stand-alone programme. and the second is more difficult. I use a Marshall valve-amp (AVT2000) and take a line-out from that. problem is the signal is huge! so it has to be levelled right down. But my electric guitar has 2 X double wound pick-ups on it that are the loudest I've heard anywhere, so I think that adds to a punchier sound. thanks for dropping by and giving my track a review.

Love the soothing feeling this track gets me into. My friend there is only one thing, i have been a guitar tech for a long time and unfortunately i can here a buzzing sound over the rhythm guitar, in particular the high E string it seems that it s buzzing on the very first fret or probably and most likely is not sitting in the nut slot perfectly, please run to your service guy and tell him. Your guitar skills are excellent. Thanks for sharing. Regards LordOfTheStrings
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
thanks for your knowledgeable review. yes you are right about the buzzing string on top E. It is more pronounced when I have the capo on 3rd fret as in this song. glad u liked the track. appreciated.
