Hey I hear a lot of potential in this track, I hear a great Beck or Montreals sort of modern vibe in it. I read your reference to previous mixing problems and I know what you can do to get that bass guitar to settle in the mix properly! You don't have to turn down the bass frequencies in the song, certainly not on the bass guitar track, but instead throw a filter on the bass track to take away some of the /treble/. The problem is the bass guitar was real present, but you cut the bottom end off, and it almost sounds like a regular guitar, making the volume war between the two even worse. If you roll off those high frequencies which are just not necessary from the bass guitar here, and turn up the bass frequencies a bit, it should settle in just right. I only write this much because I want to hear the track sound even better!
Thanks a lot for the review and thank you so much for the tips!I would have never thought about that.I'll try to remix it this week-end,see if I can improve the song.
Cheers

great!!! a very relaxed and backseated track, real fun to listen to ... silent happiness ... blues vibe makes everything possible ...
very nice composition!!!
That's awesome looping + singing. Was that pno or really hard-edged damped-down gtr harmonics?
This is a great track and thanks for the avenue for us non-Gallic speakers to explore more music - I gotta check out Bashung.
I must admit my French music vocab is really limited. Etron Fou Leloublan, the original Honeymoon Killers, Plastic Bertrand (is he french?), Passion Fodder. Please point me towards more!!
Hi Michael,
Thanks a lot for this review. As I don't play the piano,I replaced it with guitar harmonics.Plastic Bertrand sings in french but he's actually from Belgium.I'm sure you'll love Bashung especially his album "Fantaisie militaire".You can also check AIR even if they sound quite British. And also a great band called Rita Mitsouko.
Tell me what you think about that.
Thanks again
French Kid
Thanks a lot for your review, young lady, lol.I always found it hard to sing in French I don't know why.But I really enjoyed recording in my language. So maybe my next track will be in French

Wow great still. It's come to a new place now hasn't it. A little bit. Wow.
Love your voice still.
Loved the intro. Love when the beat comes in.
This is as fresh and well-instilling a track as it ever was.
Beautiful work on the vocal harmonies there! flawless, love the way they are weaving in and out with each other, like just 2 nice banners moving about in the breeze. That was a very nice treat to hear.
My email is mayz2201@gmail.com, and sure id love to sample it, and if its ok I would love to write to it, when I get it done i will send it back to you to see what you think!
pseudo 50's style thing happening...
I love the attack of the wurli when the groove is kicking... almost has a distorted rock and roll thing to it yeah?
Vocals as always cool... I wish I had the thought and nuts to pull something like the stuff you do.. but you are exceptionally talented!
Do you work with locals and stuff?... You should think about it?
Maybe a little clipping, but negligable!
HIGLY ENJOYABLE!
Dang on the no d/l.
Definitely faving.
Thanks a lot for the review.Distorted rock n'roll thing sounds like a good description to me.In fact,I never really think about the genre,I just write the way I feel.I didn't tried to sell my music for the moment cause I think I still need to improve my songs especially the mixing part.
Thanks again for reviewing

Love the fusion/electro funk this tune has to offer. Nice guitar work and hip-hop style beats. Reminds me a bit of Tone Loc from the late 80's early 90's. Nice work, --Davey--
Thanks a lot.Electro/funk seems like a good description of it.Never heard about Tone loc but I'm going to check. Thanks again for reviewing

Quick and inconsequential points of views from me, I noticed the changes in timbre and tonality man. (I am thinking it's compression???) If you are using ableton or Cubase or something, I would drop some room reverb on some of your vocal takes and make it seem like I am in a room with you? Just a thought.
Just saying!
I love it... it's really a sadistic comedy on men... And it's brilliantly performed.
this is beautiful, it sounds like a mix of old Joy Division, with a slice of funk and some other elements that i can't describe but like! I am going to have a look at your influences now but feel free to reply any influences to this review.
On other matters i think that Minette, you and i need to work on a collaboration, i have a possible song in mind that i wrote called "off the radar" that is perfect i think for our slightly sad but ultimately upbeat writing and recording styles.

I didn't hear this track before all the changes, but it sounds really solid now! The piano and vocals are both beautiful, and they compliment eachother well. Those subtle beats are just right. I really like what you've done with this track, it's very haunting!
weeeee..... wow!! i love this track... faved... i haven't come across this track yet i guess... i love the melody and the lyrics... whew!!!! Kudos, FrenchKid!
normally 'rock music' isnt somethin i'd listen to but i am enjoying your track you can tell you both put hard work into this and its great in every angle, sounds like it could be a classic!
edit ..well i do like a fair bit of rock, its just somethin i havent listened to in a long time! i'm more of a letters-to-cleo person, ram jam, metallica etc..still brill track i enjoyed!
Wow, the recording and performance on the new vocal track is top notch! I still really like this track! It's nice to hear you revisiting some of your songs, they definitely are worth perfecting. Nice one!
Thanks for the support, man.I'm trying to improve my tracks little by little as I realize how some of the mixes were crappy, lol.Glad you like the update

Nice track, very interesting sound a bit different from your previous ones. I love the electro feeling to it. If it was my I would add some fx effect to it
You're a very talented storyteller with your songs! I really dig this one, it sounds finished without being over-produced. Wayne's subtle percussive treatments really work for a song like this. I like the rawness and the honesty of it. Great work!
