Sounds like a dream kind of song. Insane, random, and weird... i was looking around when that first shouting came through... actually couldn't listen through the whole thing.... Freaked me right out haha
Takes talent to make someone look around in awkwardness haha
um...nice? lol very jazzy and um?...composed :)
Well try not to have too many of those dreams...they'll freak out many many people :}
Haha..thanks mate...dreams are weird things you sort of have limited control of things in them just like in real life..but different and strange..cheers :)
too good. Your acoustic playing is amazing and this track has a magical feel to it...the effect stuff you used on the guitar really fits so perfect with Eshar's amazing voice, very cool PJB, very nice work, and again amazing guitar work. =)
I love the fusion...
I can hear both you guys...
This would have been a 200 minute jazz session.
I understand that you guys are totally syncing in on the musician ship....
But don't sacrifice a song for the sake of sound?
no... you didn't sacrifice... but I
But... I ....
I RETRACT ALL STATEMENTS... this is DIGITAL JAZZ...
I love how ....jazzy this sounds. Love the hihats, love the fly haha, love the vocal, you did a great job with this. The pad intro was AMAZING, btw - props :D
Hi Planet,
Decided to give one of your older songs a try.
I liked this here. Had a nice spacey sound to it. Somewhat dreamy.
Couldn't hear all the words all that well, but thats ok as thats the way Marlon talks.
Nice effect. Has somewhat of a jazz feel to it as well.
Good song!
Randy
Hey Planet, I see we have alot of the same infleunce's and taste in jazz. Great track!! Fav'ed without a doubt, Joe Zawinul just happens to be one of my all time favorite keyboardist in the world. I cried like a baby when he past not long ago, (R.I.P. Brother). You did a beautiful job of recapturing that early (Zawinul / Weather Report) sound. Sounds like Zawinul's early "synth sound" before the "Black Market or Heavy Weather" albums. I'd place it more around the time of "Mysterous Traveler", or even as far back as the "I Sing The Body Electric" album. Great job, thanks for making my day, peace. D
Very, Very nice! I agree it is like a "Dark Ambient" sound. I can hear the Jaco infleunce in your playing, very nice indeed. What year is your jazz bass in the photo? Liked the "Fly" touch as well (laughing). Man, that must have been one hell of a dream to inspire you to create this track. Bloody well done mate, bloody well done. D
Thanks Den..my Jazz Bass is a 1968 (Wilma)the one I'm playing on this track is a Fretless 5 string Aria Pro which I've modified pretty extensively..thanks for the kind review mate..cheers :)
I know you've already had a lot of reviews on this one but I wanted to return the favor. You don't get to hear music like this to often. Great mix. It's nice to hear something different. A story with tunes. Great job!
love the strings, love the voice, very reflective piece here. feel like i was sitting around a fire with eshar as she read aloud. this one reminds me of moments i've shared in the midst of myself and the darkened outdoors. the smell, the sounds, the energy. fav'd, and downloaded, amazing, on both accounts.
Cool..thanks Clay...I like the idea of spoken word..it gives a totally different spin on things..contemplative and able to harness large visual concepts...cheers planet :)
how can i explain my feelings...in that year my bro was born without any problems (god thank you!) cause the clouds never reached us and i can imagine the pictures of that atomic power plant blown off. your sound is so clear and depressed just perfect. thanks!
I really do.
I think that is sooo cool.
It adds such a great air to your tracks.
I will be critical, as this works, and then it doesn't.. It feels like just pure stream of consciousness saying one thing. Just jazzy and flowing. Moving from tension to release and strange states of yes.. and no...
So... I am trying to grasp the beach , and then trying to grasp your music.
It is very cool.. Trying to figure out what your life might have been like.
IT PUTS THE LOTION ON THE SKIN OR IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN...
lmao...
Silence of the Lambs.. Awesome.
THIS IS DISTURBING. And I love your ambient sounding stuff a lot. Chernobyl is like one of the best songs EVER.
This is not as accesible, but the imagery here is amazing.
The fly solo was really good too.
Faving and downloading for the decaying youth in me, and the women in the downstairs.
(Soooooooo joking)
Haha..I like that about the "Lotion" classic segment....that Fly!..gawd!...he wanted top billing,a week old piece of meat,60% of all royalties and his own trash can!..he was worth it though...cheers mate, glad you liked it..planet :)
I heard about this collab about two weeks ago.
VERY POWERFUL. Sorry I didn't catch it sooner.
What kind of poetry do they consider that.
It's like... Abstract, and an older english form...
tho, I think this can be completely judged by it's own standards.
Elaine should have done a steven perry rock and roll scream at the end... (teehee, soo messing with you sir)
I did enjoy the poetry, but I do think Elaine was a bit subdued.
I had to strain to hear what she was saying.
But... ON the other hand, it made your incredible guitar playing stand out.
JUST
incredible
Latin, yet Medieval.
Nylon butter, but modern effects.
Great visual imagery and lyrical content.
I think I shall fall asleep to this song tonight.
Yes I agree about the levels..there is a reason as I had to compensate for some background rumble on the voice track..any lower with the music and it became apparent..However I hear exactly what your saying..the music should be a lot more subdued and underpin the poem...giving it more visual appeal..the next one will be better...cheers mate..planet :)
Damn dude, the bass... so unsettling with all the other FX around it. Percussion was perfect and keeps you on your toes throughout the whole song, and of course the hysterical woman in the background and the fly. I definitely second whoever said, "Dead Man", this would fit right in with the movie which is kind of a western/surrealist movie. Also though, "Lost Highway" comes to mind as well, a Lynch film and one of the more surreal movies to date (can be interpreted so many different ways.)
This is gonna be a fav of mine, you are extremely talented. Awesome awesome job. I draw and paint as well and almost all my work is inspired by my fucking crazy ass dreams. My screenplays are all based off dreams as well.
Thanks Clay...I like the "Western"surrealist image ..one of my favourite genres...Waking or dreaming the brains still functioning I wonder if it can tell the difference..and deliberately wipes most of it on waking...cause 'we can't handle the truth'?..cheers mate :)
