I came searching for another great travel tune to add to my collection and I've found it - EUREKA!!! This is just about as tasty as they get, superb bass, crisp percussion and Steve on the sax. God man, this is fabulous. I'm burning the mp3 to disc as we speak and then running out to the car to put it in the player, hahaha.
You are a rare gift my friend and the world is a better place with your music in it. Bravo maestro.
I hope all is well. A huge thanks for the download :)
Hey Bear..thanks a lot man!...an oldie but a goodie...actually of the tracks that I've made and listen to(not many!lol),this is it....I just love what Steve did here on his Soprano...cheers mate, your patronage is very humbling.
Dave :)
Hello, my friend, nice to see you're still here and creating treats for the ear. This is a sweet track. Love how the thunder augments the ambiance of the piece.
Hey John...good to see you back on the loop brother..you've been missed!..I know Looperman is a virtual cul de sac in some respects as opposed to the real world, but it's like feeling a tremor of the force in reverse when old hands go silent if you get my Obiwan meaning,hehe...glad you enjoyed the track mate.
cheers Dave :)
you take your time developing each section - allow the listener to sit with something for a while and you develop everything in a smooth well-integrated way. and you hold a mood, even as you add colors, variation. some of the reasons I like your stuff. could go on and on, not even mentioning strong technical level. criticism? maybe there is a more subtle way to transition from intro section to main section. all the respect in the world for your work. cheers. Dan
Hey Dan..thanks for the great review man!..I know exactly what you mean about transitioning from the lead in,sometimes when marrying up intros to the main I'm thinking too much on the bar and maybe not enough on the actual segue..next time I'll be very aware of this phase and attempt to be more seamless.
thanks again..cheers Dave :)
When it stopped, I fell down back on my chair ... ouch ! What a delicious walk in heaven both of you offered me this morning, Dave ... ! I'll surely go on listening to this miracle-like masterpiece again and again . Need a great deal of air these days and thanks to you, I know where to find some now .
Cheers,
Janis ;)
Hey Janis..thank you so very much from Zappo and myself for your lovely review!..we will endeavour to keep adding atmosphere (non toxic, lol) to the air when needed!
cheers Dave :)
Duuuuuude No wonder you get so much response THIS IS AN AMAZING SONG! The structure, the sound quality. the leads the arrangement and quality and where they fit in the musicionship. everything is right on. You've inspired me to start a new mix tape. Looperman stuff that is of varied genre but that just can't be denied.
Hey Ed..thanks man!..glad you enjoyed it,I'm pretty much a fusion player and have a relatively osmotic attitude towards music...any genre can work if the focus light is on I think,hehe...cheers mate much appreciated!
Dave :)
Man I don't know how I missed this one!! The ambiance at the beginning really sets up the anticipation and then BAM! That nylon pops in magically outstanding production. Love the little whistler you have and calmness of the trumpet -a lot going on and its right on the plate! I did a song with Short Bus Music a while back called Dawn that had a very calm beginning check out if you get the chance! Beautiful and GREAT PRODUCTION!!
Filaofsoul
Hey Fila..thanks man!I know when you say you like a track it's coming from a dude that knows the score,so I must be doing something right!..thanks again mate!..I'm off to listen to your track right now..cheers Dave :)
Mate sounding very Aussie this piece,so many elements, reminding of being back in my country hometown, extremely great clarity of the mix, can not fault this in anyway, massive credit to you for this little masterpiece, thank you for the journey this piece takes you on...Peace my friend, hope life treating you well on other side of OZ...Peace Mos...
Elegant, crystal-clear production values.. While the song is just perfect as it is, I'd also like you to get Seal or Sting on the phone, and tell them you've got a little somethin-somethin you'd like them to hear. Because I can totally hear Seal doing well,... Seal over this track. Mad props.
Hey Vidmeister..thanks for the huge rap mate!...I think if Sting or Seal got me on the phone they'd be saying Planet who? haha...got to admit it would be way way cool to pull that off though!...thank you again for your great support!
cheers Dave :)
Hey man I thought I would jump into your vault and grab a listen as usual never disappointed when I check your stage this is definitely a uplifting song. The Acoustic aspect of this song is refreshing!! I can see the peeps jumping up and down to be rescued as "The Boat Comes In" Great Job ENJOYED !
The dynamic detail in that intro...you really have to listen, it's great!
This is so peaceful! Its just sways along like clothes in a gentle breeze. The changes being ever so subtle, yet there, [moans]...sorry lol. That trumpet...so perfect right where it is, so good!
You guys have done a great job with this! Thanks for sharing :-)
Hey Pat...Thanks for your lovely review!..Detlef(Zappo) and I have got that sympatico vibe going on not unlike what you have with Richie,it's fantastic working with him..like you I was blown away with the trumpet,it arrives almost on wings....so glad you enjoyed it!....cheers Dave/Detlef :)
Hey Mr Planet Dave....Really beautiful track you got here
love the instruments and clarity..very professional.
makes me want to learn guitar..maybe someday before I'm gone. I enjoyed it.
There is nothing better than listening to REAL instruments being PLAYED by people with TALENT. While many of the "computer playing musicians" fail to realize this, your work here graphically illustrates why live instrumentation is so important.
This is beautiful on many different levels, food for the soul and the mind. A tip of the hat to you and Detleft for an amazing collaboration. Keep playing those instruments guys.
Hey Bear...thanks man!..I know there's heaps of people playing instruments and it's never going to go out of style, but sometimes around this neck of the woods one does wonder sometimes!lol.....how anyone can can claim to create music without playing an instrument has always perplexed me,but we live in strange times with even stranger people! ....cheers mate, always great to hear from you.
Dave
PJB,
When I listened to this track my headache went away almost immediately, and when the sax kicked in I started calling for my wife for some love time. I think the track could be subtitled "marriage councilor". lol. Seriously beautiful track... beautiful!
Hey DrM..anything that helps the continuance of marital bliss must be working for the forces of niceness!lol..thanks for the cool support man!
cheers Dave
Ever since I was small I always wanted to play some kind of string instrument, whether it be a Fretless Bass or guitar. My fingers are just to dang small lol. I could play a little guitar but not at this level.
I guess that's why I went to playing the piano instead. I have to thank my grandfather for that, he was an awesome guitarist and pianist. This composition right here is truly amazing. It deserves to be playing in some Jazz Radio Station.
Keep doing what you guys are doing. This is truly an inspiration. Take care.
Hi Steve...thank you for the glowing endorsement mate!..Zappo and I are just hitting our straps and will be making many more tunes together in the near future, thanks again for the great review man...cheers Dave
I'm upcoming artist and I wanted to know with your if I could a song to your track because my goal is not only to be successful but to bring great producers to recognition like yourself because this piece of music that you put together is amazing so please get back to me about that because you're work is very splendid.
Hi mb034....thanks for the interest in my track but I'm going to respectfully decline your offer, not because I don't work with other people but I don't do things out of the blue...I have no idea who you are, your musical credentials, ability level, gender or age.....absolutely nothing about you,my advice is to post up some of your own material first so I can at least get a handle of where your coming from...even if you have a great voice your going to have to build up a rapport with me and that doesn't happen over night, plus I control the sole rights to all my material 100%,and have full artistic and productive control over everything about them......I'm not trying to come across as a hard case, but being a serious composer and musician I can only work with people I know and respect...cheers Dave
What a wonderful piece of music you have constructed here. The sound quality is outstanding - it sounds very "transparent" and beautifully layered. It's a lovely journey and the transitions are so tasteful. Bravo my friend. Quality in musicianship, arrangement, recording and producing. Great collaboration. Excellent listening. Top stuff.
Hey Richie..thanks mate!..like you I've been concentrating on my production techniques lately and hopefully started moving in the right direction, the funny thing is one's hearing can be improved, trained or focused I'm not sure which, with age! lol (one of the few senses that can I imagine..unless there's some secret ninja training we aren't aware of!)..always great to hear from you man...cheers Dave
Hey Spudsy..thanks man!..your way too kind,Detlef and I are just releasing all the musical thoughts and influences that have built up within ourselves over the years..plenty more where this came from...thanks again mate!
cheers Dave
