A great way to cap off a year of your musical collaborations with this contemplative track. I love the tenderness that permeates throughout the song. Thank you, Orlando and Ed, for creating and sharing this beautiful piece of music.
I`m more than a little slow these days Orlando, but I eventually catch up with you...I note the little enhancements you have made in the mix, and I`m enjoying another listen...I think Steve`s comments pretty much nailed my own feelings on a first listen..it does bring with it a feeling of warm memories, a wee touch of nostalgia, beauty and lightness all at the same time....My thanks to you again and always for the privilege of sharing that talent of yours again this year..look forward to another year of making music with you that I enjoy.....Ed
Hola my friend...I can only imagine what you're going through lately, so the most important at the moment is that you fix your health problems and everything else can wait.
Therefore going slow is the way to go at the moment...the acceleration comes when you get better..:)
I'm glad you noticed little changes on the mix which I think are for the better. I'm also very close to what Steve says and what you also find to be your feeling about the song. I know it's a bit old fashioned in style, but hey, what's wrong with being old fashioned sometimes or even all of the time? To me it has some nice moments and that's what counts. Afteral it's December, and aren't we all more or less old fashioned in our habits during that time of the year...haha...wine in the title is there with a reason..:)
Thank you again so much for great musical company and friendship during this year and I'm sure there is more to come in 2017...looking forward with excitement!:)
Cool cool song. It gives you a sentimental feeling of melancholy and joy together, like you were looking at the past in a day dream. Beautiful melodies. I love how it takes a bit to express as well.
Outstanding as always.
Steve
Hey Steve...great to hear from you and I'm glad you're the first to comment on the new tune.:) Thank you so much for this positive feedback, the 'fav' and 'dl'...means alot!
Orlando, how are you, my friend? It's been a while, I hope all is well with you.
One of the things I enjoy the most about yours and Eds work, either together or separate, is how it's always positive and uplifting. Even the more sombre or melancholic tracks have a distinct air of hope and happiness. For someone who spends so much time in the dark, (literally and figuratively), it's good to know that I never have to go far to find just a little bit of light. In other words, when I'm navigating the outside world, I don a dark and heavy armor to get through the day, but in the sanctuary of my my own home, after the armor comes off, this is commonly what I choose to listen to for the sake of unwinding.
This track reminds me of a gentle rain on a cloudy summer day. The air is rich and humid, but the cold of the rain is so refreshing. Your piano in this is the cool rain to Ed's backdrop of warm, humid air. Together making a pleasurable experience.
Hey my friend...so good to hear from you again...yes it's been a while. I'm just fine at the moment and I hope you are as well. Yet I would be happy if I had more time for making music. I'm on a constant hunt for some more free time lately but I hope things will turn to normal soon.
I'm glad you liked my rainy effort and I have to say that working with Ed always makes it special. Yes, you're very good observer. When I analyse my tracks I see not only somber tracks have always something uplifting within, but also happier ones often reveal glimpses of something more somber. It's always a cocktail of feelings and I think it oozes to the surface through subconsciousness.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for this lovely comment.
Yeooo Orrie,
Wow mate I hope you have your hiking boots on "THE RETURN OF THE HIGHLANDERS"
How you doing mate?
Sorry it's been so long you how it is.
Mate you and THE LEGEND Ed are untouchables.
Anyhow, it is a great track with a lots of Orlando's signature.
Well done to both of you my friends.
Jamid
Hey hey, Jamid my friend! See you very rarely around here
these days but it's always a pleasure whenever you pay us a visit!:) I'm doing just fine although there's very little time for me to make music at the moment. I'm trying to catch up as much as I can but it's an uphill battle all the time. Thank God I can still work with Ed, so he saves me some time in terms of time demanding hunt for new ideas!
I'm glad you like this one and I hope there will be some more soon! Thank you so much as always for your kind words and support...oh yes,...and for the fav ofcourse!:)
You guys always seem to have the formula to make great music when you work together. The piano is perfect for the piece, like a singing melody line it takes the listener deeper into the song. Nice and easy on the ears, peaceful and intimate, soulful and uplifting! Always a pleasure!
Hola Wayne...always a pleasure to hear from you. I'm really glad to hear that you find the piano lines on the positive side. It was pretty adventurous to me to rely on piano so much in this piece, yet according to feedbacks it worked somehow and I'm glad for that. Thank you so much for your friendly review and the fav !
Hi Orlando, how are you, my friend?
I was out of time, and I ended up staying a long time without checking the site.
And here I am listening to one of your beautiful songs, after all, you have great abilities to create brilliant atmospheres in the songs, light and heavy pads flowing in the same wave, mystery and grandeur in the form of music.
Respect.
Wow...what a mega surprise my friend !:) I was asking myself many times:"Where the hell has Anubis gone?" You have been missed alot, but now it's so great to have you back and I remember very well all the great music you have uploaded here and I hope it will continue now !
Many thanks for this great feedback on "Himalaya", but now I'm rushing to check your new material...see you there!:)
Ahh, late night back from work. I make a nice gin and tonic (perfect mix of gin, lime and tonic water.) then I sit back and listen too this. I think my blood pressure has fallen to an acceptable level, and I can finally relax. mate this is some fine work weaving Ed´s guitars and composition with the beauty of your Piano playing. We have reached Nirvana! Only Gabriel, and Ferry and maybe Gilmour have reached this level of intimacy in there arrangements. Bravo...Bravo
Steve
Wow Steve...this is incredibly generous my friend ! As if
Peter, Bryan and David were there because of too much gin and tonic...haha...Joke aside my friend...I'm sure our friend Ed would be delighted to read this too, and personally I like the idea of music as blood presure leveling tool..:) Thank you so much for your kind words and the fav as well...means the world!:)
The beginning (0:00-0:40) reminded me about ambient piece in one of Fallout games (i think it was Fallout 4). Overall a really great track, i will listen to it in the cold winter evenings.
Interesting observation...so there must have been some pipes in Fallout4...in fact I bet they were.:) I hear Fallout5 is in works...would be nice to contribute some music for it...:) Thanks alot for the listen and kind comment !
The more times I listen to this one the more I love that piano of yours Leon....and I`ve been listening every moring on my MP3 player (when I walk & try to compensate for my bad habits).....Thank you again my friend...this one would never have survived without your talented additions...Ed
Thank you so much my friend for stopping by and for your very generous words of support and encouragment....and if it's true that this track survived only because of my involvement then I'm happy as one can be, and can one get a bigger compliment than this? Or if I say it more on a joke side...should I become a founder of "Trash Bin Recovery Agency"? I would certainly be very much in favour of that idea, especially when a very particular trash bin over there in Canada is in question..:)
With much gratitude & looking forward for the next one..
My dear neighbour...I'm really fond of this generous complimment...really ,really fond !:) Thank you so much for it and for the 'fav' as well...means the world !
Beautifully composed track Orlando. I can definitely pick up Eds signature sound and structuring. He's a master of smooth ! I love the feeling and beauty that this track instills on my soul. Thanks for such an experience.
Holy hell, I love this! So spiritual and seductive. Kinda reminds me of Saltillo with its hip-hop/world motifs. I love the interplay between the guitar and the piano. It's like they're saying different things sometimes, but they carry the same feeling. Fantastic. Loved the journey.
Wow, goodness me...another reviewer mentioning seductiveness....so there must be something..hehe..
"Saying different things with the same feeling"...I think you have a great point here !:) Really glad for this positive feedback of yours....thank you so much mate !:)
I'm in love with that piano. It sounds so sexual and seductive. The guitars give it that pg 13 feel but that piano is saying rated r (in my mind and imagination). Good feeling. Is that you playing that piano? Peace & Blessings
Well...that's really nice to hear!:) Yeah, that's me on that piano. I don't think that I'm any good at it, but when you find it even sexual and seductive...well, that's a compliment and a half!:) Thank you so much mate !
A very haunting but beautiful piece, loving the pads and strings, cant really put into words what I feel hearing this one, something surreal about the sound, not sure, amazing piece, this is a sound you expect to hear when watching fish swimming in and out of the reefs in a ocean doco, maybe that is the strange feeling it is giving me...Totally loving the piece my friend, again credit to your talent...fav...peace n respect...mosaic...
I'm so sorry for the late reply mate....I somehow overlooked your comment...it happens!
I like your aquatic approach to this one...very interesating !:) As always good to hear from you and may I express my gratitude for all kind words and support...means the world !
