this is absolute madness, but it's beautiful madness.
I enjoy unconventional beats, this hit the spot.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Out of curiosity, how did you find this song? I've been inactive on this site for years, I assumed all of my music drifted into the abyss over time, lol.

Fantastic work and I love just the first few seconds.

Good main beat then follows (no problem with the EQ on that for me).

0:43 and there's a magical vibe that is introduced. Great emotive, fairytale sounds.

I'm surprised only one person has mentioned the exceptional vocals. Were are they from? Very clear and gentle voice.

2:24 change I find a bit awkward but I guess it's not a problem. Perhaps fits the far out, blissed out vibe. Reverse vocals then work well.

Bring those drums back in hard on 3:00.

Man beat reminds me very strongly of a particular DJ Shadow track. Can't remember which one. This track makes me think a little of UNKLE's excellent song Bloodstain.

3:24 cool, weird high overdrive sound. What is that? Previous far out chords sit well underneath it.

Deep stuff that's perfect for chilling to so well done.

I checked your profile and found this:

"I find conventional instruments to be tired and boring."

Do you still feel that way? I love making far out sounds and new textures but I find you can do some pretty crazy stuff with conventional instruments, especially if you stick them through various, carefully controlled effects.

Like a glitched mellow hip hop electronic beat. Really love the vibes and the flow of this one. Excellent vocals chops and stutters. The singing/talking vocals are a really good addition. I'm pretty baked right now so I kind of got lost in it. ha Dope stuff man, peace

Well it's your music, you're the boss of it. But if you put it up for opinions expect opinions and if you don't mention that in the description, only you know. : p

    Well, good luck.

Need to EQ that drum sample loop, bring the hi end end out. Nice choice of vocal sample. You should check out a guy on Ninja Choon called Bonobo. I think you'd like him/get some inspiration for your stuff. Also maybe some Amon Tobin and some of the tracks from Amnesiac and Kid A, which are two Radiohead albums if you're not already aware of them.

Keep it up man, one of the most interesting tracks I've heard posted today.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not going for clarity in my drums. I know about and have listened to all of the above artists you've mentioned. I'm particularly a fan of Prefuse 73. Yeah, people constantly tell I need to EQ. But maybe they don't see my vision the way I see it. I'm going for a more dusty but digital approach.

Description : Just like the first EP "OGOU", this production focuses on organic elements with drum samples. It contains modern sounds such electronic down-tempo, future bass, and hip-hop, which makes the music sound old and new at the same time. With heavy sampling of African chants and sound generated from other tribes, this is production will bring more flavor and enjoyment--it's like Africa to your Ears.

Description : After a major uphill battle completing this song and turning it into what it is now, I feel some amount of satisfaction. It was like reality wanted me to give up or something. It's done... phew... Have updated this almost completely, from repatching the modular bass, playing some guitar parts, adding electric piano and synth lead, redoing and tuning the DW-6000 synth, of course adding my vocals, and mixing and mastering. It really has become pretty new wave, like much of my stuff does recently. Have added the lyrics as well. I am proud and happy with it, and I hope you all enjoy listening! UPDATE... woohoo just broke 1000 plays on this track here at looperman!
***original description***
Hey finally here with a new track! I'm not sure what to call this other than electronic, due to the high tempo. This is the first song finished using my interface which allows direct MIDI control of my modular synthesizer. The mid frequency bass part is all from that patch. There are tracks designed with my Zoom RT-123 drum machine, the microkorg, and the circuit bent KORG DW-6000. Other than that it is just a kick and snare drum sample, and a a quick vocal snippet. So I guess it's fairly minimal in that respect. Would like to hear the Looperman community's thoughts on this song! Thank you for listening
