Oh, I highly recommend doing open mic nights. I've learned so much both about playing and writing, and the atmosphere is always supportive.

Btw I see my comment may have come across as quite rude, but there's a perfectly good reason for that: I'm a total dh.

What I mean to say is: I always enjoy your tracks! But somehow I seem to have forgotten to write that, my apologies!!

JohnSmokey replied 15th Nov 2023 - 2 years ago

I love the honesty in the first comment, I litterally had that whole thought about the open mic tour today because of your comment I was able to conceive the idea. So never hesitate to say what you feel.

BaoBou 12th Nov 2023 23:11 - 2 years ago

100% Smokey John! And you used a great beat!
See if you can either use a bit more tone in your vocal, or else, do it more as a rap. I think that will add a bit of dynamic to it.
Good luck man, every track you make is better than the previous!

JohnSmokey replied 15th Nov 2023 - 2 years ago

I do the harmony, and then I sort of deliver the verses in a slam poetry fashion. I like the vibe how it is, I think it adds a level of intimacy to the vibe. If I ever tour, I'd be reading the lyrics off my phone sitting on a stool or something. Call it

Open Mic Night- The tour Featuring Johnnie Smoke

Think that could be a hit if you ask me.
