Description : This is a 303 through a distortion pedal. Very simple but sounds nice if you dial in some delay to match the tempo of your track. Recorded in Audacity and tested in Reason.

Description : Today’s experiments have been with making a big rack of effects to create techno rumbles in Reason. No hardware for to make the samples – just lots and lots of effects. However, I fed the finished loops out of the box and through the saturation on the SP606 to finalize the loops because it just pushes them into soft-clipping territory. Enjoy and if you do make a banger let me hear it!

Description : Sampled MC505 beat through the SP606 sampler with the vinylizer turned on then added tape saturation to make it sound real old and dusty. I turned everything up on this so it sounds very lo fi, like the sound of a 1980s sampler on a 1970s turntable! Recorded in Audacity. Tested in Reason.

Description : Funky sort of bassline generated with the Roland JX08 mini synth. Sounds pretty dry at the moment buy just add some FX for a bit more movement. Very weighty sound by the tiny box. Recorded in Audacity tested in Reason.

Description : I’ve been sampling the Yamaha V50 today. This sample comes to life once you put it over a 4 to the floor kick and do some filter sweeps over it. Very atonal so should work with most other psy or tech sounds. Recorded in Audacity and tested in Reason.
