Description : This is probably the first Sarod Loop at Looperman.
I play on the north Indian String Instrument Sarod a Melody, based on Asavari That. The Raga which is played in the morning hours. In this short sequence I integrated a few typical glissandi which are characteristic for Indian classical music. The scale is C-D-Eb-F-G-Ab-Bb.
There is no category for Sarod, so I have chosen Sitar, which is a more known Instrument than the Sarod.

Piease correct your title. My loop was played by a Sarod and not on a Sitar. Sarod is played on a fretless stainless steel fingerboard instrument and Sitar is has frets like a guitar and is a completely different instrument and has a different sound. At looperman there is no category for Sarod because Sarod is not so much known in comparison with Sitar.

    Hi iamserdar,
I heard the youtube video. I recognized my loop just in the beginning of the Rap. It was completely changed for this purpose, may be half speed of the original tempo and a different melody sound I guess a kind of Sitar. Also the key had been changed from C to f sharp minor.
My question is: what was your work of this rap, was is the intro for chardonnay? I think so. The original song was made by Joshi Mizu? Also ist das ein interaktives Projekt...Gre nach Regensburg von Jens Egert (jensmuse)

Now I had a chance to listen to your track on soundcloud.
Quite interesting what you have done with this loop material. However, the loop is royalty free but it would be fair to mention the creator jensmuse or Jens Egert as well on Soundcloud because it is not a very small portion but it is 5 minutes long. Hope you understand my view.

Hi atpeas, I listend to your Animation video with my Sarod Loop for background. Good idea to add some music to the spoken information. Wish you good success with your fair trade projects, Seems to be a work worth doing it.
Glad that I could add a small contribution. Regards Jens

Interesting how you used my loop with the different percussion.
Has become a bit repetitive but of course it is a loop. I like how you fit in the short glissando part of the sarod.
I think it was not that easy to get the rhythm because I played the sarod live whithout click.

Description : This is a night Raga of north Indian Classical Music for Sitar, the most famous plugged String Instrument of North India.
Raag Jog is an evening Raag played between 9 PM - 12 night.
In this Raag you use both thirds, E and E flat, also B flat, in Indian Music this is shudha Ga and Komal ga and B flat is Komal ni.
I created a melody with some of the characteristic notes of Raag Jog, also included some rhythmic elements to make the tune more colorful. At the end of the loop, I used a typical Indian musical phrase, a pattern which is repeated 3 times so that it fits to the 2 rhythmic cicles of 16 beats and meet exactly on the first beat where the loop starts again.

Description : Better quality, idk why, the melody is very generic and boring, but i listened to this loop: https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/104414/i-wanna-go-guitar-strings-by-jbricks-free-120bpm-grime-electric-guitar-loop from jbricks (never heard of him) and oh well, made this in 5 minutes so i guess you could use it.

Description : This tune is a Mixture between a Sitar Melody in a western Music Style and a Marimba which could have been played on Guitar which I did first but I prefered the warm Marimba Sound as a contrast to the bright Sitar. it has some similarity to Bollywood mood, threrfore the title. Key is e Minor.

Description : I used my north Indian String Instrument Tanpura in a different way. Instead of using my original Tanpura Sound which you also can find on a separate Loop, i used this wave file to play is reverse, to get a different sound. I added a contrabass and a English Horn for the melody. The mood is a bit dark but a little contrast with the brighter sound of the English Horn which got an ethnic flavour. Key is in C sharp.
