Nice track Man..Moves real good, mix is real good really enjoyed
the placement of things gives it life...
Need a little something else in there, to kick it up a notch
so far an outstanding start...
Solid piece of work, has a real good feel but anything you put her
voice to is going to sound good...
Unless the Music and mix is way out of tune....Can't miss... :)
This on the other hand has taste, with a cool style will work
every time...
Good groove, solid lyrics nice voice doesn't completely have
control of his diction words wise...
Maybe it's the Auto Tuning that changes that dynamic, it is a
bit over the top...
Why would you use that, when you have a real good vocal in tune
and everything, then you add that and it takes it out of tune...
Then you EQ that trying to make it right, when you had it in your
hand from jump street...
Well it's a good start anyway...His voice is already good and the
Tuner is not making that any better, then it already is...
You can't feel the Blood & Mud or the Shrapnel as it passes through
your arm and leg...
But you've got the sounds down, to as close to real as you can be
without being there...
But if these Dummies don't, straiten up and fly right this will be
just a lullaby, compared to what will come...Seek and ye shall find...
Let the Politicians fight the wars on the front line, you'd see how
fact that crap would end...
I've heard this progression chord wise before, it's almost note
for note...Can't put my finger on it now, I will as soon as I post
what I'm typing now...Never fails... :-)
The time (Beat Wise) you are using, gives it a little different colour
along with the range (Sound Wise) of the keys...
Good mix and it is all well done...
Ya... Know this is really good, this could be edited into a Vocal
song...
If one took the time, the melody is strong when the drums come
in then the track take off...
Nicely put together...
Very Cool track... It really needs Bass rolling on the bottom
would put a lock on the groove...
Voices are in a good place and sound good, the Keys keep
the hole track moving in a solid way...
But a thumping bass would save the day.... :-)
And a Guitar with something little to say...
Hi TG, yes the bass!! Always forget about it somehow...going to try to add some and sort it out.
There is a "guitar"(synth plug-in) in there but it doesn't talk enough I guess, it had nothing much to say. Maybe adding some more of that too.
Nice track Guys...Solid adds by all...
For my taste the guitars are just a bit to deep, in the reverb
they are placed in a good space...but as I said my taste...
Very laid back groove, makes you want to move well done
by all...
I had 2 friends that liked playing stuff like this, Oliver Jones and
Oscar Petterson, Oscars gone now but Oliver is still rippin it up
down in South America right now...
I'll see him when he gets back, in a few weeks in Montreal...
That pin mic really does not do your rich voice any good....
I have used it many times, it all depends on how far you are away
from it...And the Volume you record it at...
I learned using it, that it is easy to add volume to a voice after its
recorded, then it is to take it away...If you can keep it out of the red
on the track you are recording, that's a good thing...
After you can do many things, to give you what you want vocally
sound wise...
I really like the timber of your voice, has a nice warm feel to it...
Been away for a for a few weeks, went to Cuba my friend has
a place there...
With all this snow still here, should have stayed for another 3
weeks, sadly I have people to see and things to do...
Looks like everybody wanted this download, guess I'll see what
I can do...Then run it by you...
i appreciate your review a lot. i am trying to think what I might do to clarify the feeling - perhaps lower the drum beat an octave - more reverb on it. it is striving for mystery, some sense of loss perhaps. thanks very much. Dan
Love the Guitars and the Mix, not to sure about the Vocal though
they are in the wrong key...Different is good but wrong is not... :)
Keyboards really set the tone and moves this, in a very cool way...
Second time around listening, you don't even need that voice in
there it fills a space that Tranquility of the Harmonics would do wonders with...
Another small synth run or some extra bells moving across the spectrum...
I think it takes away from the true value of the track and that's
a shame...At lest till you find something better...
thank you. I mostly agree with what you're saying. These are 2 separated tracks - first one has very classic and simple instrumentation: lead guitar, Rhodes bass, main Rhodes and drums. Second one is much more experimental, I couldn't find vocals that will fit better in here, at some point they are sounding ok for me. Just some experimental track of mine. The guitar loop I used was too short so I started throwing more layers to keep it interesting. Also my laptop crashed and I ran out of memory when doing this one so I couldn't add the synth or epiano solo...
Thanks for listening to my music and some interesting thoughts! Alex
This is way more top heavy then my hihat...LOL
You just pulling my leg or something, with any volume
this will send you to the Ear Doctor...Just joking...haha...
Truly with all the distorted harmonics, it's really not
something I would play in my car or at home...It's just
not where my head is, or has it ever been with this style...
Honestly...But you've put it together in a cool way, it's not
easy to organize such confusion into something Musical...
It's your thing man, do it like you like it...
Hello, and thank you for checking out this track! You are right, the high hats are stronger than many of my tracks, but in relation to the balance of high and low frequencies, they are fairly low in the mix. You can kind of tell at the beginning when there is only high hats, then everything else comes in, and it's all much louder and focused on different frequencies. It was quite a strain on the ears getting the mix and master how I wanted, so I understand. This is quite different from the things that you write, so I wouldn't expect you to listen to it much. I appreciate you listening regardless of the pain it may have caused!
