Memory Lane...That's when a lyric & Music had something real to say...
At some point, it will be headed back that way but not today...

Gotta go dig out some of my old stuff now...

Larry...This is a link to the track (Mind Benders) keep things real simple
left lot of room for Vocal embellishment on the harmonies that are already
there...: https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/162459

on Infragilis - Ophidia in Herba or Hidden Serpent by Infragilis
I can see this in a tropical setting film wise...
A thumb piano or marombas would work, well in this
I have a Thumb Piano and was just messing around
in spots it would take it deeper into the Jungle with Flavour...

Very nicely done...

Peace...TG

Thank you very much for your comment. A thumb piano is a rather interesting instrument indeed. It would be the perfect replacement for the harp i used in the last bit. In fact, that might be the instrument i was looking for this whole time. Nevertheless i hope you enjoyed my song.

I think it's Mike MacDonald or at least he sang on it... Can't be sure...
But this track was at the top of the charts, for a good while and AM stations
still play it to death all across the Country...
I like the twist on this, that technique has been used many times and it works
you've just got to find the right way, to hook it up...
Maaad... Vocals harmonies are solid, the mix is great in the headphones
once you get a handle on that program you'll be hooking things up, just
like you've always wanted to... :-)...Big Fun...Coming...

on Feel it by s10343068
Some of it sounds really good but there are, some harmonic mis-placements
in the vocals the keys are playing minors and the voice is doing majors, that
maybe the other way around, never the less...
You've put the loops together well, but the vocals have a problem in the
harmonic story they tell...Truth be told...

Very Very Nice, piece of work, moves like it has somewhere to go...

on what's going on...

I really like this one for sure...

on Better By Morning featuring Kara Hesse by Fofote
Good project lots of feel in her voice, and your track moved very
nicely along with her...
Gave her a comfortable blanket of flavour to rap her self in...

Very nice...

on Stay featuring Farisha Haque by RichieWinn
Nice track super production, this move in a jazzy kinda way...
Her voice is tuned to the moon, but there are those that like
that kinda stuff...
Some how!!!.. To me it sounds like they are hiding, something
funky about their voice...
But the Music track really works very well...

Hi SH

So good of you to listen and post comments. I do appreciate it.

Yeah, a bit jazzy is cool and it was that kind of laid back understated feel I wanted on the track. Having a voice tuned to the moon is infinitely better than having it tuned to Uranus!!

Thanks again

Woooow now this is nice, the keys beckon for a big guitar to come along
for the ride...
If you don't mind I'd like to give it a shot, just to see what I hit...???
I'll keep it simple and real close to the melody, but you'll know it there...

Don't delete good sketches, you paint over them with different colours
that alone, could change the whole picture... :-)

I like the clean simple sound, very transparent in it's design...
Me myself could hear a few more guitar lines, in places but that's
my taste...

Sounds like you had fun doing this one, because it's so nicely done...

I REALLY LIKE IT>>>

on Waiting by Jeffiedillard
I can see why you look for music, that make words jump out, of your heart...
With a voice like that, you can almost make anything sound good...

I really like this start, a chop here and there with a little somum-somum
could make this ready for the highway...
Got your seatbelt on... ?

If you don't mind...I'd like to look closer...

You have a good voice, different strong with a good tone...
The trick to singing, is use what you've got don't go outside your
voice box...If you get my drift....
Had to come back to check it out again...Well Done...

on Tearing MySelf by samern
Very cool track ...My Man
Really like how you put this together, off the top I felt her voice was a little
low in the mix, but as she gets going it does increase in level...
For me I like to give the vocal control of the front line, it's about the lyric
in a singing song, the Music is just along for the ride
" The Car she sits in " if you understand my point...
Your Music bed track Man, is very good tight and feels real good...I LIKE IT...
Keep up the good work...

Peace...TG.

on Final Chapter Instrumental by benjizo
Solid piece of work my Man...
Groove is fresh moves with style, on point...
The guitar is hooked up, right in the spot it should be, but I can
tell you had some editing things, not being a guitar player you
wouldn't notice...A few lines in the solo end on the wrong note, I can
see you were locked in on the time thing " Intro-1st solo line" just a
touch too short to be believable, it sounds like it's edited...And you
use it a few times...that's the hook...so you really want to lock that in
I'd chop that again, cause you are in the ballpark...
>>>>OR>>>>
If you want to hang that note, you could add a longer delay at a low
level blending into the strings...
You can let that slide...If you put some voices over that, on top
of the beat, below would make that stand out a lot more...
Very nice start to a cool track...Man...

Peace...TG.

on Old School Flavours by FreeRadical
Waaaaaay Back....Hahaha...

Cool track...Yep that's what it was, then looking at it now the music today
is still not that far away...
It's still about the bass drum drop and efx moving in and out with a simple
bass line...
I was looking for a moog sound to come in with a maaaad solo, but this
is very cool and well done....Nice one...FR

Peace...TG.
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 25th Nov 2014 - 11 years ago
Thanks, I suppose I could try and put a moog solo on it but since I just pencil everything in it's really time consuming doing solo's. Maybe one day i'll get a decent keyboard and learn how to play it.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving your opinion.

on HARLEQUIN by Planetjazzbass
This is a very, very nice piece of work. solid production...
A spot or 2 things just get in the way of each other, but not in a bad way...
Everything is so clean, that they just stick out harmonically to my ear
anyway...
But over all it's top shelf stuff, a Highway Roller 4 sure...

Outstandingly done...Dave...

on Be Your Boyfriend by TRSTAR
Don't let nobody fool you, this is really nice...
I would've not used the tuner on your lead vocal, the harmonies are cool
because their lines are short and to the point...
Your vocal didn't really need any help, it distorts you diction "what you are saying"...I know it helped you hit, some of those notes but I think you
could've done it, on your own and knocked this out of the park...
You can't hide behind that thing for ever, with your voice it should be just
a tool (that your voice don't need) but to sharpen a flat tone in a voice...
Not to become the voice...Just to much stuff on something that is already
really good...Believe me!!! This is just my observation...

It's a really good track otherwise...

Peace...TG.
