I fel that this is a giant release of energy from you. I'm not even going to critique what i heard yet, but just feel that emotionally you are letting off a lot of hidden steam.

reminds me of the Strokes meets Elvis Costello if that makes any sense to you. I like the progression. Work this one out mate it's worth it!

on my world instrumental by larrybarrow31
Awesome work. I agree with Mykael, it's a very tight verse in need of an awesome chorus. part of my roots are influenced by FLYTETYME and this tingles that essence. keep at this one.
great vibe.

on NAJLA - Crazy Alchemy - ORIGINAL MIX - by Najla
Goa trance at it's most modern edge i believe. Nice job melding some Big Room aesthetics with classic Psy-trance sounds. I used to be a big fan of Nordbeat, back in the old MP3.com days. Are you using Reason?

Najla replied 2nd Nov 2017 - 8 years ago
Hello Crucethus, hi!
Well, i'm not sure if Goa Trance at its most modern edge, but thank you to left your comment about what yout think, i never used NordBeat, so i don't know what it's like, but i saw some videos, seems interesting. Actually, i produce at FL Studio, cause for me its more suggestive and atractive to produce.

What do you mean with "Are you using Reason?", i didn't get... sorry :c

cheers!

on Burning in my soul by BLEEP
I agree with Wayne this is New Wave, indeed or post post new wave. but that moving bass line and synth treatments make it very classically new wave and an awesome job you did on this one my friend. The sound is luscious and full. And it's a great tune to listen to. My head was bopping along to it while typing.
Great work

hello Cru,
glad to read you enjoyed this track! it's important for me you underlined the mixing quality ;) it's an important phase and it's not easy when you don't have enough knowledges in sound engineering :)

thanks for your feedback

Wow very creative. The opening trance was as good as a Paul Vandyk tune, then you get a little loud (compression) which from 2:11 to 2:58 was a bit hard on the ears, but the overall usage of styles in this medley was amazing. great work.

2:11 to 2:58 I agree with you. I do not know what happened to the program when compressing in m3 is defect ... but it did not start to load again. Thank you.

Wow, Trance hardfloor and a demented sort of bro-step segue comes together nicely in this Electro-Trance tune JIT for Halloween. great work, this is what is in the clubs now, and you nailed it. just needs a touch of mastering for perfection.

Oh mate, you have no idea how much this made my day today.
Thank you for the support, and the constructive criticism, I'm still working on my mastering skills, not really quite sure if I'm nailing it well.

I'll see what I can do to improve the quality of my mastering.

Best regards,
Phr34kness.

Yes but there is also a deep melancholic resonance in this tune that cannot be ignored and makes it very appealing.

on Open Season by Spivkurl
TA refers to Toasted Avalanche, as his descriptions emotively were spot on. he was also quite good at doing that on one of my songs, so i was giving him praise while praising your tune., sorry for the dis-communication. The Satire is that in this message for all of humanities attempts to control something, we continue to make more problems for ourselves. That will never change. We are an Animal. We have social characteristics that are found in our ape cousins. We can be brutal , violent, disruptive, but when we started to create the un-natural world in which we live in now, some of those characteristics are slowly being eroded. Life itself is getting better for most humans in the world. But the fear is it can all come crashing down due to Natural events, which will bring us right back to our brutal survival animalistic state again.
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 26th Oct 2017 - 8 years ago
Ahhh, I understand the TA thing more now. Had not even considered that you were referring to another commenter!

I think I can identify with what you have said here, with the possible exception of the last points;

"Life itself is getting better for most humans in the world." This is something I do not see. Can't even think of a single example. "Better" is such a subjective idea, and requires a point of reference to even exist. I think about the changes I see and hear of, I look around my community, I remember the past... and all that I can think is "IT'S SO BAD."

"But the fear is it can all come crashing down due to Natural events, which will bring us right back to our brutal survival animalistic state again." Instead of fearing natural events and their destructive possibilities, I hope each day that this is indeed what cuts the human race down to size. While this may or may not bring us to our "animalistic" state, it is very likely the only chance for survival of humans and the entire ecosystem. "Brutality" is not something I would think of in this situation, as that is an essential characteristic which comes to mind in modern humans.

I appreciate you coming back with some clarification, and I welcome the chance to explain myself further. Have a good day!

on Black Lipstick by BlancFroid
Wow Blanc, the songwriting chord structure is most definately post punk, you nailed that spot on. in the verse i could hear also what i would add to this to make a melody. it has such potential from it's raw state that it is now in. sadly if we were only still listening to this style on the radio anymore.
great work.

Nice sinister opening, This is a very cool song. Great mix so far. i agree with Joe that it needs some more percussion and driving beats, if you had that this would be a mind blowing song. 4:13 on and it sounds like a mandolin ehh? Really creative my friend, i enjoyed that listen immensely.

on Hero of Hades by thelastmonte
I enjoyed, this my only gripe is in the mix of the bum bum sound.. those vocal stabs should be wide and in the back of the mix and not in the center and muted. Otherwise nice choice of instrument loops. Creates a sense of tension. And the ending is to short or cut off. otherwise nioce work and your on to something.

Hey Crucethus, I appreciate you stopping by to listen! I'm assuming TA refers to someone who ended up in my sampleset, from the Canadian gov't... otherwise, I'm not sure what it would mean. I was not paying attention to who the people were, but simply the content and malleability.

The suggestion of "satire" seems to be a common reaction to this song so far, and it is interesting to me. I'll just paste part of my response to Orlando in regards to this - "There really was no mocking in my intention, but simply adjustment of spoken words to serve my literal purpose. Is that satire? I don't know for sure, still."

I have a strong bitterness about humans and their efforts to shape and control natural forces, when they know so little about such things. Their life is short and consumptive, their history is short and violent, their mass religions are disrespectful to nature and those who live in harmony with nature. This shows little credibility for being able to control even themselves, or to shape even their own future... aside from what I have explained in the song itself.

Thank you for listening and leaving your words!

on Angel of the East by Nodog
Those are nice pads and a clearsound. Almost as if the Angelus-est was hovering over you but hesitating. As the music gives you a sense of wanting to go somewhere but always remains restrained. I like how it ends on the raw electric guitar (fender?). Nice.

Hi Cru good to hear from you i laid this track out differently from the usual way i work there was a definite time line to it which i kept to. I wanted it to have space. A bit more discipline than i usually possess. You are right about the guitar is a very old Greco stratocaster and copy of the iconic Fender which the masterful Leo Fender created. Now there was a trailblazer if there ever was one he was a fantastic man. Thanks and best regards Robbie.
