Ok, Yeah, this one intros so nice. Really good tune, love the vocals, it just has a really cool mood to it. Guitar work is sublime. And the Bass cuts through nicely. Your Outra is awesome as well. Great Job.
Cru
Thanks for listening & the comparison the David Bowie. Over the decades I've listened to his work more than any other artist. In fact on my scale of worst LP ever released to best, Station to Station takes the "best" spot. Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica takes the worst spot. I'm sure there's worse records than that one out there, but I'm really familiar with Trout Mask because of a kid I used to hang out with back in high school who insisted on playing That record every chance he got. He thought it was genius. I thought it was crap.
Cool Tune, and try adding the space at the beginning of the track to get around the 4 character issue. Now to the tune at hand. It is an awesome blend of piano and synth and simple percussion with a brilliant chord progression that makes you just feel good.
Nice work.
Cru
Cool Awesome tone on that kick. Almost has an acid feel to it. Good Techno. I was not expecting the I IV V Pad progression. As I listen to it I am really liking what you did, and how you bring the elements forward. That Pitch bend is Wicked. And it ends on a Synth Burp, nice. Great Job.
Cru
Hey Cru its good to hear from you i hope all well in this time of covid madness and we can all get back to normal whatever that is thankfully we have music to keep us motivated. Thankyou for your comment best regards Robbie.
Good morning friend and thank you for your constant support. In this track, I put aside any compositional rule, keeping a simple rhythmic pattern as the only lifeline. Thanks again and see you soon
I love the intro and how it builds. I'm ok with the percussion being static since the synths all around it are ever-changing. I think that was the right call for this particular tune (and you know I come from the school of diverse percussion). And I particularly like the way it crescendos and then leads to a denouement and slowly disperses itself. Masterful tune my friend.
Steven
Thank you very much for your nice words, this song is constantly evolving, it has not yet reached its definitive form and through your analyzes and your comments I can understand how to proceed. Best wishes and see you soon
Really cool Drumming, Are you Familiar with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Terry Bozio used to drum back in the day with him and they did a piece Frank wrote called the Black page (A drummers Nightmare because of all the 64th notes literally made the Page seem Black). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyH8A_XPXeM
Nice to hear some real musicianship.
Cru
Thank you, thats insanely cool that you thought of bozzio since he is a huge influence, especially his modern stuff. Zappa is huge too, love peaches en regalia. I even like about 5 songs from Missing Persons. They hit a cliff fast though.
Hey there. The answer to your question would be that I would have a question for you. Did you use a compressor / limiter on the whole track as a mastering tool? Myself, I like to keep the track volume low like 6-9db below the threshold, before I use Izotope Ozone 9 to finish it. I find I can get more dynamics that way, and the hi hats don´t seem so squashed . I come from the less is more theory of EQ as opposed to boosting sections. Even then I sometimes in a dance tune use Leftover Lasagna´s Push-tec, which is an awesome EQ tool for bass sounds, and La Petite Excite, to add some dimension to the high or low end. I hope this helps you.
Steven
I think there is my problem already: I use the maximum volume in the mix already (just up before red) because I want to have it pretty loud. Next time I will start at a much lower level from the beginning. You know, in my exitement for some good new track I still tend to get very sloppy but I have to learn that it is important to watch the technical things as well.
Thank you!
Michael
Nice NU Disco Tune. Nice harp arps. Vocals and Bass sound really good. The mids and percussion sound just a slight bit over-compressed. Good Stereo Field. And it´s a pretty good song in its own right. So good job.
Cru
Thank you for the comment. I understand that I should lower the percussions a little, but would you fix that over-compression of mids in the master? I am thankful for any advice ...!
lmao,je viens d'Haiti, j'etudie au Mexique actuellement. Je faisais du slam avant le rap. Hey Fresh Mix. So there are a few schools of thought about mixing. Myself. I don do a mono mix than pan as I already have mapped out in my head the placement of where i want the instruments to go. For example, bass and vocals should usually be in the middle. Using effects on sounds as you said should be heard and then a little less, unless you are trying to achieve a unique sound (you will experiment with that as time goes on. A good mix has a balance of frequencies. So I try not to have all my instruments be in the same frequency range. (this will add space to the mix as people can hear the instruments.) Not all instruments need to be in your face as well. some rhythm sounds should be reduced. I do use 40 recorded track of sound often, but many of those tracks are percussion instruments that are panned. Sometimes the subtle sound of an instrument can mix with the more prominent sound in a mix and create harmonics that make the sound fuller and fresher. Also having a perfectly clean sound mixed with a dirty lo-fi sound that's lower in the mix can ¨Excite¨ the sound. This was the basis of an audio exciter unit that was before PC´s. I highly suggest investing $50us in the VST Vallhalla Shimmer, or Uber Mod. They are both amazing tools for reverb effects that are really clean. Also Be careful of falling into the loudness trap of over compressing stuff as it can make the ears go tired quickly, there is still alot to be said about Dynamics. Keep learning my friend. I still learn new stuff every day. Any time you have a question you can ask.
Cheers
Cru
1st and foremost the guitar technicality sounds amazing. But the sounds you have put together makes me feel like I am listening to your playing from outside the club, waiting to get in. It will be interesting to listen to this when you get all that sorted out.

Fantastico. So I heard your beautiful voice through BaoBou´s Production, And I just Remixed his version very differently from his and yours.
Lovely song. (Entonces escuché tu hermosa voz a través de la producción de BaoBou, y acabo de remezclar su versión de manera muy diferente a la suya.
Preciosa canción.) https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/214879
