your mixing is getting better every time :) loved the first section starting at 1:36 love the drums and the low bass with the chopped vocals and the offbeat piano key love the ambience!
Nice bass in there! amd I like the drum fills! all the eq'ing is good, the kick would be nice with a compressor though and sidechaing the bass and the hats, nice work!
it's quite muddy but practice makes perfect! there's too many snare in the drop I think, it could sound right with more snare but the main snair hit should stand out aswell as the kick, try compressing your kicks and sidechaining cymbals, bass, pads etc, personally I sidechain anything that isn't the snare lol, keep at it though this is decent for a first attempt, also listen to your favorite dubstep artists and focus on the arrangements of the track, when to break away/ build / drop / switch up & then drop again. etc. It's good for the listener to have structure & hints that something is happening or about to happen. keep going bro! :)
really nice track at the start love the plucks I don't know how you keep managing to knock 10 minute tracks out so seamlessly lol, middle one wasn't for my taste but again the 3rd one was pretty crazy nice work, I've always thought about making some trance like the 3rd one but never got round to it! I will one day though ;) Good stuff!
Thanks. I'm a bit cautious about uploading anything at the moment as i've only got headphones to mix with which makes it a bit tricky to get the mix right so places are bound to be out and i can't do much about it at the moment. Glad you liked two bits of it. Cheers for popping round. FR
cool man sounds like the old school trance, very nice, don't know if you've ever seen "kevin and perry go large" but the kind of music on that, Ibiza music, Nice work :)
wow this is beautiful, so magical you really took me away with this I'm stunned, I would compress the kick and side chain it above the bass with a small release time of maybe 1 - 1.20 and it will come right through the bass then it's not a problem at all :) I love this the vocals played a big part too they were mixed perfectly. thanks for the free DL & well done !
Thanks for the advice!! Have to try that. How do you guys know this technical stuff, anyway? It's the boring side of this production bussiness, to remember all that technical gibberish.
Really glad you liked this though, I imagined that it would be too far off for most people here.
This is dope af, you weren't lying in the description you killed this man, and in response to the guy before I wouldn't change a thing, and I'm not just brown nosing I'm someone that speaks my mind so if I saw room for improvement trust me I'd tell you, absolutely love it, thanks for the download bro. change the abrupt ending and then get this sent to "radio 1 introducing" bro ! and I bet you they play it
oh my days mate, this is magical. my fav track I've heard on here of all time atm, this is so fucked, it's rare you find music like this only artist I know to a actually try something as crazy as this is culprate this is next level son. big up bro & thanks for the DL !!!
I knew as soon as it started that it was going to be emotional, you really set the tone at the start, the sound of the whales, the chords the pad progression, you can tell this isn't artificial and that it really means something to you, I got shivers near the end. Great quality mix down, awesome job and you have my sinserest condolence
Hi, thank you for your kind comments and respect. It really means a lot that the music reaches out in the way I felt in making it. Much appreciated Steve
I can hear a little fuzziness in the back near the end but aside from that it's pretty clean not that far off professional quality mastering wise, I wouldn't bother investing in any monitors personally I've never used them in my life lol Anyway back to the point lol, This is a great production everything has clarity nothing is drowning anything out. no mudiness, I wouldn't worry too much you'll keep getting better and your already on the right path! Good Work!
was expecting this to be alot quieter and not as clear but it sounds better than the wave table shows, very cool track will sound alot better when mastered though, I can't hear the kicks over the subs at some points but I'm sure it will have more clarity when you have chance to mix it
Very nice I was expecting this to be shocking to be honest after reading the description with you insisting on people not to laugh hahaha, wonderful stuff, weird.. which I like, and a good plot twist with the description !!! ;)
haha...no haha I don't mean the guys to don't laugh as U see in description ..this is nice to can feel comforT with eachother and share our expriences with honesty even about the lacks , seens , unseens , dones & undones ... well as U know I'm from Iran where there's an islamic dictatorship government here & wherever there's islam so there lives tommyrot beside limitation (no matter what sort of history that country or civilization has) and islam i alive to make these lacks in a isolated atmospher (made by islamic thoughts & dictatorship governmenT).... I know this tragic fact in my description ,sounds a bit commedy for the others especially youngers like U & definitely causes their wonder , also smile which is comprehensible & underestandable for me , here , beyond this monitor ...& also as I've wanted makes them to know about my people's problems in fact... so I'm gratefull of your attention to the description & I appreciate your feedback & also shared idea about instrumentation as commenT . many many thnx peril94 .a friendly smile + my best wishes .___Behnam
not something I'd listen to but on the other hand your voice is something I could just keep listening to, over and over :) I'm looking for 1 or 2 more vocalists for my EP I've just started for early 2015, which I'm writing my own lyrics for too. would love you to be a part of it :)
I can see where you was going with this I like the idea, but it needs some work on the mixing, I can hear distortion on the low bass for example, you don't want any effects like delay, re-verb, distortion, flangers anything like that on low bass it really muddies it up, and yeah like the guy before said you need to layer your bases I normaly only use 2 layers, one with a high cutoff of 30 - 40 htz and the a low cutoff of about 200 - 300 with it lowered a little close to the low bass region, and with the high bass going from 200-300 cutting off at 16,000 htz. and then the eqing inbetween is all down to preference, your kick needs a compressor to make it stand out and side chaining with the basses (sometimes I'm naughty and side-chain everything just a fraction) ;) finally I would shorten it to about 2+ mins, dubstep is known for being repetitive so it's best to keep it short and sweet if there isn't much variation, if you do all of this in your future mixes you're onto a winner because I can hear what you were trying to accomplish and you're definately on the right track :)
i think i see what you mean...thing is the distortion was put in there on purpouse, i wanted to make everthing go BZZZZT....interesting take on it tho, if i can find the original tracks im gonna try some a u guys ideas and reload it...thankee-sai for the encouragement...im working on new stuff now that the album is finished (well, this tune was going on it but now i think ill wait) so look forward to some more uploads coming...stay tuned Brothers and Sisters, the Revolution WILL BE TELEVISED donald-marshall.com
wow the mixer levels are off the scale I've never seen the whole box filled with green before lol, not my kind of music, so the only criticism I can give is on the mixing it could do with some major equalizing
