Yo, where's our acapellas man. Don't make me fly out to the Bahamas and get them LOL. I'm joking bro.
How's it going man. Sorry I haven't been around to comment on your tracks. As always, your joints are dope. Your voice is very easy to listen to and your messages reach out to me.
Have you ever done any shows out there? If you ever have videos and Youtube it let me know so I can check them out.
Yo man. What's up. Damn, this composition is crazy. You really have a good ear and great talent. I enjoyed this mix a lot. Keep doing what you're doing. Peace.
Hi there!
Thanks for the compliment, nice to hear that you like it.
Its an old remix from year 2002, cant even remember who was the singer some girl from germany :)
Nice track man. I love the horns and strings. Almost reminds me of the original rocky theme. I read your bio, my grandfather was also a big inspiration in music.
This is tight. Arrangements, levels and mix down were on point. Keep them coming. Peace.
I'm feeling this track. I understand where you're coming from about the Mastering. Sounds like ear fatigue. It happens when you listen to a track over and over again.
Make sure you give yourself a break from time to time. The only thing I would suggest is to bring up the high end a bit. Nothing to drastic. Use gentle boost between 6 and 15kHz to add air and presence to a mix.
I'm not sure how you do your mix-downs whether by headphones or monitors or both. Just make sure you have your EQ output ( from your monitors equipment) set to flat.
This way you get the true sound of your mix, while applying the EQ withing the music program you are using. I hope I'm not losing you buddy lol.
Nevertheless this is a nice track. Keep blazing them beats. Peace.
ear fatigue is right, and thanks for the tips. all honesty, it was the quality of the sample... it was SO bad, i did my best to make it sound alright and I just got tired of trying lol thanks again tho man
Wow. Brings me back to the days when that record "TWO WITHOUT HATS - TRY YAZZ ( E. 140TH ST. CLUB YAZZ ) mix came out. That was in 1989. Dam I'm getting old lol.
Really nice mix man. I'm loving the subs. The track hits hard but relaxing at the same time. It's amazing how a piece of music can influence someones mood.
Nice levels, panning and effects. You got me in the mood to make another House track. :P Take care my friend.
Steve my friend, thanx so much for stopping by & listening and reviewing. It's a very kind review thanx. I'm glad you enjoyed the track and caught the vibe of what I was trying to acheive. I look forward to hearing some house from you, let me know when you post it up and I'm humbled that my attempt to make music has inspired you. Thanx again mate.
Cool track man. This is one of summer songs where you're driving with your family and friends somewhere. Really cool vibe. I like the change up at 2:42 as well.
You managed to hide most of the pops and glitches in her vocals. Nice work. Peace my friend.
Hey Richie. What's up again. The one thing I love about your mixes is that you don't mix it down to hot. Very easy on the ears. I've heard some so called professional mixes on the radio, and some were so hot on levels in parts of the song that it just killed the whole song.
Really disappointing especially if you liked the song. If I would to ever get a CD mastered, I would tell the master-er to make it sound good and not be concerned about how loud they could make it.
Awesome track Richie. You have what they called golden ears. I love the solo at 1:45. This tune deserves to be on the radio. I'm a big fan now. Peace man
How's it going? I don't know if you have read it but there is a very interesting blog running at the moment regarding mixing and mastering without making tracks too loud. I am not fan of compressing the life out of my tracks and like to have some dynamic range whenever possible. Your comments about being "not too hot" and "easy on the ears" I take as great compliments - thank you.
Glad you liked the track and thanks very much for stopping by to listen and post comments. Much appreciated.
Ok so I was reading through my comments and realized that the last comment I left you was a bit off and I didn't even leave you a proper review on the track itself.
I apologize for that. I suffer from what you call "sleep deprivation" or should I say insomnia. So I might be listening and writing something, and my mind is somewhere else.
So now that that's out the way.
This is a cool track. Arrangement and levels are on point. That pop-pling type sound and bassline worked well together. Every time I would hear that part It would make me feel like I was trying to run or escape from something or somewhere. If that makes sense.
I also liked the way you faded the sounds in and out. I don't know what else to say. Sorry again for the last review. Peace man.
So very sorry for the late reply! I've been getting caught up on reviews! I really appreciate your in depth review of this song, and it makes me happy that you liked it! Thanks for coming back for more!
I saw the title, and I just had to take a listen. You're right, cigarettes are dam expensive! Especially here in NYC. I'm not an expert in Drumstep but I don't judge a piece of composition by it's genre.
I go by feel and emotion because music is about that. If it comes from the heart you can relate to it. Btw, thank you again for stopping by my page. I really appreciate it. Peace.
What's up Richie. How's it going man. I always say that I'm sorry for not being around but I'm so into music I lose myself into my own world. I wish I was a vampire so I had all the time to listen and review everyone. Haha .
On the serious note, this is a serious track bro. dam. I want to jump off the subject for a second and say those fellow musicians/producers and engineers, when you make awesome tracks like this make sure you back up your work. Trust me. LOL
I went through moments where I have lost valuable stuff and wanted to pull my hair out but that's another story. lol
Sorry for the blabbering :P I enjoyed this tune a a lot Richie. Take care. :)
It's going good thank you for asking. Great comments and really appreciate you dropping by to listen. Yes back up your work, good plan. There are only two types of computer user. Those that have lost data and those that are just about to!!
Yea man. This is definitely a nice and tight track. I'm very impressed. I love the feel and movement of the song. The mastering was excellent. The only thing I would suggest is to fade out the end or something. It ends to abruptly.
I wish I could add you to my faves list but hopefully that feature will come. Peace.
Yo, what up my dude. I know it's been a minute since we last spoke. I hope you and the fam are in the best of health.
I come to your page a lot just to see if you have uploaded any new vocals. I'm feening here bro lol. I know you probably have a lot going on but that's how life is eh? :P
Well I just came through just to what's up. I'm trying to catch up with everyone.
This joint is hot btw. Very pro sounding as well.
Take care. Peace.
Nice track. I like the idea behind it. All you need to practice is how to mix vocals better. That will come in time. The beat and rhymes are tight though.
I just gotta let this out but I love your avatar! lol. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Thanx! :P
Very nice mix indeed. I can hear how you kept the dynamics of his vocals even. When I work with vocals sometimes I add some compression just to smooth it out, and sometimes I just go in and chop those individual voice samples and fix them from there.
That's the beauty of it, there's so many ways to do this. You just gotta find what's comfortable for you and what kind of gear you have to work with.
thanks, lol, my avatar is made to attract your attention. What you say, tells me I made it right.
In many of my other past productions I devastated vocals in order to bend them to my will. In this revisited version I tried to maintain the original mood, as if it were a new creation just exit on the radio. Anyway I always use compression and other tools on vocals... this time those birds were flown away if I had abused them.
I gotta tell you. I grew up listening to a lot of music. Especially stuff like this. I went to a High School in the Bronx and the student population was like 85% Jamaicans.
So I learned a lot about the music and culture. From beef patties with cocoa bread to jamming in the basement with huge ass speakers with the bass punching through my chest, lol.
Greetz dachopdocta, Great to hear that it brings you back to the old days! Yeaa, need to feel the bass hahaha! thnx for listening and for your comment.Bless
Thank you so much for listening and writing really nice comments. Much appreciated. Yes, I have had, and continue to have, a great musical journey and hope in some small way it inspires others.
It's funny how one is saying higher the beat and the other is saying lower the vocals. The volume of the beat is perfect. Matter of fact if you push it any harder it will clip.
The hardest things to mix is the bass and the vocals. Any professional engineer will tell you this. Rule of thumb, any music track will sound worse on another system than the one is was created on.
This track is tight. You have a nice flow as well. You might have to compressor on the vocals and roll of the low ends a bit so it sits better on the track.
Yo, maybe one day you can upload some of your vocals and get a chance to remix some of it. Just and idea.
Thanx for the comment you left on my page. Peace bro.
Cool track man. Your hear the drum bass, you should transpose them every 4 counts so it can go with the tones of the tune. So that's 1,2,3,4 and on the 5th kick it would change, and the next one 9th and so on.
I hope I make sense here. Just a suggestion dude. Nonetheless this songs rocks dude.
i def appreciate the support thanks for the review mang. i think i get what your saying. pretty sure at least. transpose isnt a word im familiar with but by what your saying i kinda get a description n if im right than i def think ur right lol. be eazy thanks again bro.
This is why I disconnect myself from the stuff on the radio, not that there isn't nice music on it, but a lot of it, well, has no kind of message you can actually connect to.
Very simple song but I loved it. Not to sound weird but I love your accent as well, especially when you say *remember*.
Hey, what's up. Sorry it took forever to get to you.
I worked with Magix before, it's a pretty nice program. It's cool how you use both Magix and Acid to make tracks. This is a nice mix, the changes kept it interesting.
For that question you ask me before if I make my own beats, well sometimes I use loops, sometimes I use MIDI and sometimes I use both in combination. I have composed many songs from scratch as well.
Though when I started using AcidPro I kinda became addicted to loops and chopping them to the point where you can create a whole different feel just from using one loop.
Yo what's up my man. Sorry I haven't been around to check out more of your music. You know how it goes, life, family etc.
I love the vibe on this track, I like the warmth in it. I'm trying to figure out if it's the sounds you used or some type of plug in to make it sound that way.
But, like a good chef you never give away some of the secret ingredients. :P The guys flows are tight as well. Very nice work.
P.S. I don't want to get into the cat fight but I want to point out that through the 20 plus years I've been producing, meeting musicians from all over the world, that I have never had any problems or should I say beef with any of them.
I like to think of music as a way of peace and harmony. A way to escape the everyday problems of the real world. Whether I'm happy, sad or angry, I tend to let that energy out into my music.
I'm sorry for the long post but I hate to see fellow musicians having differences over music. That's not the way it's supposed to be.
What up Chop Dr. Glad you liked the track. Honestly I think my warm sound comes from the way I mix. Ive been told by alot of people I have a warm touch to my mixes. Just the way I like to hear music I guess lol. I totally agree with you about the musicians usually tend to get along thing. I have no resentment towards Clepto. He is just a new guy that thinks he is a hot shot and is trying to make a name for himself around here. In my years of creating music there has only been a few people that I just couldnt get along with.
It's not bad man, for having bad speakers that is. You can also use headphones. I have a few headphones so I don't disturb the neighbors when it's late:P
Seriously though, use whatever you have man. This beat is dope. Everything sounds good. The one advise I give is to EQ the strings a bit.
Not sure on the range but just play with the EQ Filter on the fly, or should I say as the beat is playing so you can hear the changes instantly. Have everything quiet during this moment and just listen.
Sorry for the in depth stuff. I'm not a pro but I'm learning as well. Nice track man.
You're absolutely insane man. To do a track like this you have to be crazy. lol. I'm Joking man. I say that because my family and friends call me that whenever they hear a weird and exotic track from me.
Last night I was just browsing the net and bumping into new and different music. I wish I had the time to listen to every talented artist out there.
What's up man. I wish I had more time to listen to all the great tracks on this site. Interesting track you got here. You used logic pro 9 huh. It's amazing how music programs have their own characteristics in sound. Very pro and clean I must say.
Well my friend, eventually I'll get to your other tracks. Till then, you take care. Keep grinding them beats out :P
