Hi Bear !
Oh, how sweet you are to me ! You make me shy with such an undeserved comment ! ...
I'm delighted you liked it !! T'was my very first song and try with music-making .
A very big thank you for your support and kindness,
Take care, Bear,
Bises,
Janis
Jamie, it is always such a pleasure to listen to your work. You are one of the best on Looperman when it comes to jazz, simply a master's class in doing things the right way. Your synth work was spot on. Beautiful mix, everything sitting so nicely. And then when that guitar comes in, my oh my, what a wonderful moment.
Like Patricia, I'm wishing I could download as well, hahaha.
Thanks I wrote the track and then had My05 add the fill stuff. I also liked the Piano he did.
The vocals were from a track I found on the net. I really am not into rap this was just one for the fun of it. Wanted to add the EVH style riff to it. Most say it sounds like RUN DMC.
Thanks for your concern on the hurricane. Yes I survived fine thank GOD. Praying to GOD really helped me.
My friend, the use of the strings is genius indeed. They provide an emotional harmony for JJ's wonderful vocals. When you put the two together, you get absolute magic.
Sometimes less is more, and the song proves exactly that.
A tip of the hat to JJ, Joe, and especially you (I loved those little flute and guitar snippets). Outstanding production values as well.
I know very little about this genre, but in my humble opinion you need to just get rid of the vocals.....they aren't helping. The problem may lie with trying to mesh the bpm of the vocals with the bpm of your track.
I've found a lot of people record vocals without using a drum track or metronome. So, when they tell you the bpm is 120, it could be literally anything. When you try to drop the vox in a track, very seldom does it work. In your case, it seems the vocals were probably recorded in a tempo that is close to the 128bpm of your backing track, but not close enough.
Anyway, not trying to beat a dead horse to death, but think about either doing what Ultrabase suggested or get rid of the vox entirely. Then give your track a listen and see if it doesn't sound a whole lot better.
Thanks Bear.
Yeh I expect you are right, but I thought since I used ACID that I could beatmap the tracks and make them sync. but... either I did it wrong or I'm trying to do something that's not possible. I'm thinking it's my lack of skill in beatmaping.
Hey have a great day!
Since this is a genre I normally don't listen to, I have no critical thinking to add. However, as a lover of music I can say this was really enjoyable - a great combination of synths and pads. I had the volume cranked up so the neighbors could enjoy it as well, haha.
Outstanding effort. You should be proud of this one.
Now this is nice.....like the others it brings back such great memories. I love the fact that you aren't "hiding" behind a bunch of special effects or distortion....you are letting that guitar do what it is supposed to do.
Absolutely a masterpiece and a lesson in great music. Like Ed, I'd have to give this one a 10 out of 10. Well done Bob.
Nicely done Mickey. This has a Harold Faltermeyer feel to it and that is a good thing (he's one of my favorites). I'll keep checking back in the hopes someone adds some vocals to it.
Thanks Bear, my grown up kids tell me this is where l should be heading with my music, trust them to be honest..lol l tell them l would if l could get the band back together..... Blues Brothers. what a film. l will checkout Harold Faltermeyer. I've heard the name before and looking forward to hearing the music.. thanks Bear. mickey
Very, very impressive work. You have really nice control on your vocals, great pitch, and a commercial sound that most record companies would love to have on their roster. Almost an Annie Lennox/Amy Lee quality to your voice.
Beautiful work and I too, love the fact that you recorded your vocals in your native tongue. My friend Dan (VickyDan of Looperman) would approve :)
I look forward to more of your work. Welcome to Looperman and count me as a fan.
Hi Bear and thx for your warm welcome and very kind comment ;)
I surely don't deserve such a comparison with those tremendous female singers !
So long and thank you very very much !
Take care,
Janis
This one is definitely not my normal type of music, haha, but I have to say I was thoroughly entertained. It was an interesting blend of sounds....a sonic stew of sorts, that was perfect to listen to in the headphones.
I wish I would have had something like this in my younger days, it would have made for a great trip :)
Thanks Bear Yeh it's a purposful stretch a very positive one for me as i have been wanting to do something out of the box. Thanks for taking the time with this; especially knowing it's not your genre of choice.
And don't even get me started about my "younger days"
Any time you can build a song around a pella and have it turn out this well, you know you have done your job. This sounds like she was in a studio with the musicians. I'll go out on a limb here and say that Richie will agree with me.
This is one heck of a great job. For your first foray into rock, I'd have to say you nailed it. And Farisha is a rare talent indeed.
Perfection and definitely added to the favorites list.
Sorry for the delay. Trying to regroup after Hurricane Sandy swept my area. But thank you again for your words, sir. It means a lot when a real musician such as yourself can appreciate the effort. I hope to continue to amaze you and keep pushing myself to make other music outside my comfort zone. Thanks again, sir!
This is a really nice cinematic piece that would be right at home in a movie or as a soundtrack on a video game. Nice dynamics, great tempo and progression changes throughout, and a piece that shows a great deal of thought.
Overall, I would have to say this is an outstanding effort and one you should be proud of. I enjoyed it immensely.
More and more I'm thinking most of the music do or want to do tends to lean to the cinematic side as of late. Unfortunately, I just noticed listening to this track I missed exporting about 3 mins. on the end of the song due to a corrupted file. Still sound good the way it is so I'll just make another song of the other 3 mins. I guess.
Bro, this is really nice work. I like the acoustic, unplugged feel to this one. There is also a lot of room to really add some instrumentation if you wanted....bass, strings, etc.
You got skills my friend. I really enjoyed your vocal work.
it was just meant to be an acoustic version but i got abit carryed away lol and the vocals are a bit out of time which i need to fix asap thank you for taking the time to listen and leaving a comment not many people do on this site any more.
You know, when you get to Las Vegas on your road trip and play at the MGM or the Mandalay Bay or the Orleans, or the Thomas and Mack Center (any of the 12,000 seat venues will work just fine), I would love to be in the front row :)
If there is anyone out there who deserves success in this business, it is you.
This is absolutely incredible. Congratulations on the album and all the best to both of you....I hope it goes platinum.
Oh my goodness! Why haven't I responded to these before now? Geez.
Mr. Bear you will not be in the front row, you will be backstage as soon as you let me off that bus :-)! I look forward to the journey, Richie and a bunch of us lol.
Very interesting track....kind of glitched, kind of chilled, with a nice dose of percussion and a great bass line.....really nice balance throughout the mix. You also have some really nice progressions going on.
If this isn't your usual genre, perhaps it is something you might want to dabble in a bit further.
Thanks Bear for listening and even more for responding.Oh Yeh I plan to do more similar stuff and whatever else comes out. I guess this is more like music I was making a couple of years ago but i's still like really good down tempo
thnnx again!
I'm an old guy, old enough to remember all of the great dance tunes in the 70's and this one has almost an Earth, Wind and Fire vibe to it. I absolutely loved everything about it.
This is a great blend of old and new, a fusion of two different eras (not sure that was your intent, but that's the feeling I get from it). I could hear this one playing on the radio back in 1976, or this morning :)
thanks bear, i never intend my stuff to sound like anything, it is what it is , but i`m flattered by your comments and glad you enjoyed it. once again thanks :)
All you need to do is drop the track in your DAW (it should line up just fine) and see what you think. If you like it, feel free to use it (no need to worry about giving me credit). If not, no big deal. It was fun to play along with your track. Channeled my inner Bruce Hornsby on it :)
I can't describe how much i love what you did for my track it is a beautiful melody and fits perfect , thank you very much SBM i will upload it when i am a past the 24 hour allowence and will most certainly credit you in it , thank you again truly appreciated .
Nice blues progression.....has a really nice vibe to it. I'm going to download and see if maybe I can come up with something for you....guitar possibly or piano. No promises, but if nothing else it will be a beautiful song to play along to.
It has a lot of potential for sure. Thanks for posting it.
Hey bro, I have to agree with Spudsy on this one. You are one good mix away from having a radio ready track on your hands. I actually like the verb on the guitar at the beginning. It gives the piece more of a live feel.
I know you may not believe this, but you are really one of the truly talented people on the Loop. You have a real feel for knowing what people want/like in a song, and then know how to deliver. And you do it song after song.
This one is a beauty. Patricia is in rare form (hard to go wrong with one of her pellas). Awesome work brother. I think I'll leave you with one word....
Thanks, Bear, for your kind words. I appreciate all of your input. There are times where I second guess myself because I know how critical this business is. But your words help to inspire me. Thanks again!
Man I love acoustic work and this track is a great illustration of why I love it so much. There are no special effects, or trickery going on here. What we have is pure music and emotion. The chord progressions are outstanding.
You should be proud of this one. Outstanding work John. Definitely added to my favorites list.
Wow, Dude you are awesome!!! 12 years old and you are producing at this level? Man, by the time you are in your twenties you just might be picking up Grammy's and MTV Video awards. Seriously, stay at this. You have mad skills and definitely a knack for making great music.
Nice blues track....it would be cool if one of the great vocalists on here would jump on this one. I know MarieDailly loves to sing the blues (https://www.looperman.com/users/profile/505193). Or AJ, or Patricia Edwards, or any number of other talented singers would work as well.
The song stands on its own, but it would be awesome to have a version with vox.
ShortBusMusic thanks for the nice comments, I really appreciate it. I emailed MarieDailly for her to get some lyric going on this.. Will re post hen she finishes her awesome lyrics to it.

Outstanding job by both of you. Well done.
