Great guitar chops!!!!! I mean freaking outstanding rhythm guitar work.

I loved everything about this one, from start to finish. One of the best rock tracks I've heard in a while. The ending is fantastic!!!

Really well done.

Great start to what could be a fantastic song. It needs a bridge to break up the repetitive nature of things....or maybe a chord change on the final chorus. Anyway, your vocal work is stellar as usual. I look forward to the final product.

There are times when words completely fail me....

This is one of those times. I have no adjectives to adequately describe your work. All I can do is smile, stand and applaud your efforts.

Exquisite work, like a multifaceted audio diamond created by a master craftsman.

Bravo.

You're someone very humane and your music proves it, Bear, so I'm touched and honoured by your comment .

Pretty imaginative use of Slap's "Joy to the World", kind of an early Christmas present for all of us :)

You've got skills my friend. I really enjoyed this one....extremely creative.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your comments as you seem to be very active here on looperman and you know a lot of all these people here !?
Well, I was really amazed of SlapJohnson as he remembers me of the early works of Jan Garbarek, which is one of my favourite musicians on this planet!
And beside that it was a sudden fortune, that all the mixed loops in this track do not only fit musically but also in content. "Many voices for the joy in the world !"

Greetings.

Oh man, this is so nice. The sax is just sensational, the piano work is off the charts good, and the guitar is the topping on this jazz sundae. I am assuming that is you on guitar, and if so, absolutely stellar work.

This is music....just that simple, great music.

Thanks so much for the kind words. It's very ironic that you commented because your Rhodes grooves brought me here. I searched everywhere for some cool Rhodes loops and yours were by far the best. I'll post the results in a few weeks.

Hey John, I think this track expresses your angst quite well. It is emotional, uplifting, and dramatic....just like the struggle Amber faces each day. Keep fighting the good fight my friend. I wish only good things for the two of you and I look forward to the wonderful news of your marriage in August :)

Beautiful work bro. Stay the course.

Absolutely beautiful!

Sometimes less is more and in this case, that is the truth. All you need is your wonderful piano and Romy's vocals. I love the intimate feel on this one. It's like I was in the studio watching you two record it live.

I love the understated brilliance of this one. Great job to both of you.

I came searching for another great travel tune to add to my collection and I've found it - EUREKA!!! This is just about as tasty as they get, superb bass, crisp percussion and Steve on the sax. God man, this is fabulous. I'm burning the mp3 to disc as we speak and then running out to the car to put it in the player, hahaha.

You are a rare gift my friend and the world is a better place with your music in it. Bravo maestro.

I hope all is well. A huge thanks for the download :)

on SHADOW ONE with a special dedicacy to SHORTBUS by janis71
WOW!!! This is absolutely spectacular....

Why are you not famous? You have such a current sound...I seriously think your music could easily be playing on radio stations anywhere in this world.

Your control is amazing, and you have an almost uncanny "feel" for what is needed, and when it is needed in a song (I hope that makes sense - your timing, dynamics, inflection, all of the great things great singers do).

It was really fun to hear your original song. I did take off in a whole different direction with your pella, didn't I, hahaha.

Thanks for your kind words. I am humbled by your praise and in awe of your talents. Thanks for sharing them with all of us here on Looperman.

Beautiful work. Now if I can just get my favorite button to work ;)

Jamie, it is always such a pleasure to listen to your work. You are one of the best on Looperman when it comes to jazz, simply a master's class in doing things the right way. Your synth work was spot on. Beautiful mix, everything sitting so nicely. And then when that guitar comes in, my oh my, what a wonderful moment.

Like Patricia, I'm wishing I could download as well, hahaha.

Bravo Jamie. Outstanding!!!!!

Great collaboration - you two have mad skills for sure. Also a tip of the hat to whomever laid down the vocals for this one....sick flow for sure.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one from start to finish, especially the piano work. Like listening to Leon Russell.

Outstanding job by both of you. Well done.

PS: I see you are from New York. I hope you weren't directly affected by Hurricane Sandy. If so, our thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thanks I wrote the track and then had My05 add the fill stuff. I also liked the Piano he did.

The vocals were from a track I found on the net. I really am not into rap this was just one for the fun of it. Wanted to add the EVH style riff to it. Most say it sounds like RUN DMC.

Thanks for your concern on the hurricane. Yes I survived fine thank GOD. Praying to GOD really helped me.

on Walk Away featuring JJ WEEKZ by brillbilly
My friend, the use of the strings is genius indeed. They provide an emotional harmony for JJ's wonderful vocals. When you put the two together, you get absolute magic.

Sometimes less is more, and the song proves exactly that.

A tip of the hat to JJ, Joe, and especially you (I loved those little flute and guitar snippets). Outstanding production values as well.

A big 10 out of 10 on this one.

on LET GO featuring NATE MONOXIDE by edzwood
I know very little about this genre, but in my humble opinion you need to just get rid of the vocals.....they aren't helping. The problem may lie with trying to mesh the bpm of the vocals with the bpm of your track.

I've found a lot of people record vocals without using a drum track or metronome. So, when they tell you the bpm is 120, it could be literally anything. When you try to drop the vox in a track, very seldom does it work. In your case, it seems the vocals were probably recorded in a tempo that is close to the 128bpm of your backing track, but not close enough.

Anyway, not trying to beat a dead horse to death, but think about either doing what Ultrabase suggested or get rid of the vox entirely. Then give your track a listen and see if it doesn't sound a whole lot better.

Bear
edzwood
edzwood replied 8th Nov 2012 - 13 years ago
Thanks Bear.
Yeh I expect you are right, but I thought since I used ACID that I could beatmap the tracks and make them sync. but... either I did it wrong or I'm trying to do something that's not possible. I'm thinking it's my lack of skill in beatmaping.
Hey have a great day!

on Journey Home by LoopnFLlover
Since this is a genre I normally don't listen to, I have no critical thinking to add. However, as a lover of music I can say this was really enjoyable - a great combination of synths and pads. I had the volume cranked up so the neighbors could enjoy it as well, haha.

Outstanding effort. You should be proud of this one.

Now this is nice.....like the others it brings back such great memories. I love the fact that you aren't "hiding" behind a bunch of special effects or distortion....you are letting that guitar do what it is supposed to do.

Absolutely a masterpiece and a lesson in great music. Like Ed, I'd have to give this one a 10 out of 10. Well done Bob.

Very, very impressive work. You have really nice control on your vocals, great pitch, and a commercial sound that most record companies would love to have on their roster. Almost an Annie Lennox/Amy Lee quality to your voice.

Beautiful work and I too, love the fact that you recorded your vocals in your native tongue. My friend Dan (VickyDan of Looperman) would approve :)

I look forward to more of your work. Welcome to Looperman and count me as a fan.
