on She Sails The Mists by brillbilly
well....I just had to log in to hit the download button on this one brillbilly......really is a picture painting mind grabber...has that air of the mystic that I often try to associate with my Celtic type efforts...Just a great track my friend...I`ll be listening to this one more that a few times......Ed

on STREET WALKER by DJShemZee
you are a versatile guy ShemZee....I haven`t listened to much D&B but must say you do it well...the genre seems to draw on a lot of really good synth sounds...this one has an aggressive vibe...a bit different for you....Good for you.....Ed

outa sight good stuff guys....a great singer & a great blues guitarist...and I can just sit right here at home and listen in.....(I used to go places that were a bit scary to listen to blues players & a lot of them could take lessons from you)......super collab musiclover38 & Patricia....Ed

Thanks Ed! It means a lot. I know places like that, even here in Denmark. I jam there sometimes. I actually had a blast talking to a scary looking guy with one arm, that was sorry he couldn't play guitar, but enjoyed playing the harp instead. About the lessons? I don't know about that, but still cool of you to say!

you likely noticed I haven`t done anything in the genre and I likely lost track of the electronica & dance genre stuff about a decade or 2 ago...Its an area I haven`t dared much (did do a trance mix on a challenmge a while back though)...still...its good listening when the spirit moves and I can hear a lot of thought that must have gone into the mix....good on ya brillbilly.....Ed

on 200 seconds glockenspiel trial by deciBel
Behnam...your music is unique...and that makes it special for those of who enjoy creative ideas...the glock and acoustic guitar really makes a good combination...and I know you call the tune simple...however...it is one of those little tunes that sticks in your mind...and you find yourself humming along after it is done....enjoyed it a lot...Keep on doing it your own way Behnam.....Ed

on The Best Feeling by Planetjazzbass
geez....I wish we had some kind of notice of fav uploads for us slackers who dont get much listening time on the loop...but dm...its good to be able to listen to this kind of music on our little site here....This kind of innovation doesn`t hit the radios (its too good)...has too much imagination and evidence of talent & thinking composing...and while its entirely different...it reminds me that the experiences & talented artists that I love who now have made enough swag are doing their real music (and its even better)..they`re not on the radio any more either....Great stuff Dave...dont have enough words to describe...but its uplifting....got energy...got feel...just good....Keep on doing it...Ed

Hey Ed..thanks man!...the only radio play Zappo or I will ever get is probably as background muzak in an insane asylum! lol....the weird thing is I've heard Jimi Hendrix and the Doors playing in my local supermarket and thought Jeez now even that stuff is regarded as muzak! lol
cheers mate Dave :)

on Mambazo Africa by Proxy
I think the North African drumming first caught my attention when I discovered Loreena McKinnett`s music...Years ago we went to see "The Blue Nile" at the Imax here and I could just have closed my eyes (in spite of the great visuals) and listened to the music....This is a great track Proxy...quite minimal but with everything it needs to take the trip....much enjoyed......Ed

on Drift Wood by BlackKasper
when I need some education in Techno I`ll be back over this way BlackKasper...I haven`t done a real techno mix but I quit paying attention to genres when looking for good beats a long time ago so I have more than a few from my techno folder in other types of tunes...This one says you got a good fix on not just the genre but the whole compositional thinking....nicely done...Ed

Thank you Ed for the joy I had collaborating with you on this musical jewel ! It brought so much oxygen and peace in my chore ...
I found beautiful pics of Aghalee here :

among which some with "swans swimming so boney" ... as Loreena sang !
I'm very touched, honoured and proud of this song we made . Thanks from the depth of my heart, my dear friend .

on Una Lagrima Furtiva-Donizetti-cover by janis71
Well...I certainly have no special knowledge of classical vocalists Janis71...but I know a when song is performed with such wonderful talent and feeling...as you do it here. I have listened to and enjoyed many professional singers (though not as many in classical performances) but you prove here what I have oftens felt....that some of the best vocalists on our little planet are those undiscovered gems who make no claims to fame...but just shine like a light with their own talent.....We are fortunate to have these little music communities that allow us to hear what you do...Bravo....I am a fan........Ed

I am fortunate to have the wonderful opportunity to share my humble stuff with so friendly and welcoming people as you all . This community's very dear to me and brings a lot of joy in my life .
I thank you so much my dear friend for your warm words .

on Burning Bridges by TheBedlamKids
You have a whole lot of talent going on here BedlamKids and it sure shows in the results..some thoughtful composing...really works where the heavy rhythm guitar drops out & the vocals over the cleaner chord prog sail for a bit...Its just an all round excellent bit of musical art guys...everything in here shines (great drums) and Pete is (as usual) just exceptional...Beautiful production work by Mahloo13 just gives it that extra special polish....congrats...super job....Ed

on torture in Islamic Republic prison by deciBel
Hi behnamzandi...about your guitar question...the music conveys very personal feeling for you...so you are the best one to decide about that...perhaps a few short ambient guitar lines would bring some different feeling into the music...but..that is best decided by you....I am not trying to avoid the question...I`m just not sure....Try it and see how it comes out.....Ed

deciBel replied 16th Feb 2013 - 13 years ago

Regards in first ,dear Ed , I'm glad to read from you as I've been told before too .
& I just can uphold your words about religion & also methodists & also about the strenght & power of music ,
+ & appreciate you for taking the time to listening to my music trials & commenting .
+
Ed I was thinking about some Elctric Guitar melody (a short but proper solo )to accompaniment the words of the my
instuments( notation), but I had no Idea ,
Do you think this track needs any Guitar solo & I should still try on it to have a better pronunciation about the torture trauma ? or not,& you think that this track was completed & enough ?
