on all those years by phantomproduction
Very professional and polished rock band sound with superb guitar work, great groove, amazing vocal and a top class sound production.(this style of rock is not something I listen to so much but it reminds me of the band 'Heart'). Really well done : )

on If you see a kid playing piano by TheBride
Nice work - it reminds me a little of the Animal Collective
and this track that I've always loved 'Banshee Beat'

on The Wizard by topclass
it is a nice intro and you have some great synths happening there with nice rhythmic punchy interweaving lines (esp ins some parts), kind of house beats I think (? genres are not my thing) and top class production sound, as Micheal commented those bass sound around the 4 min plus mark are very cool : )

on Modnex - Last Breath WIP by Modnex
Hey there - I listened to this a while back but somehow didnt get to comment - i like this very much - nice indie rock vibe (I always liked pavement and similar bands just a little more grit and quirkiness but in the alt country ball park and the sound reminds me of that) - everything about this is good, instrumentation, beats, vocal, lyric, sound, it's just not finished so ... please do keep going with it : )
Modnex
Modnex replied 29th Jun 2022 - 3 years ago
Thanks, psuedoble!! I appreciate the kind sentiment. Indie rock music sounds are always great. I enjoy the good music comparisons. I agree with you, I really need to finish this, I hope I can soon.

Thanks for the kind words.

Love good jazz muso's and Herbie is right up there and this is great too - so cool, so nicely played, shimmering with sophistication, nice sound production too : )

Hello Ian,

I'm glad you enjoyed this track.
Ordinarily I would have obsessed
over this track for weeks trying to
get everything "just right" but this
one kinda just came to me and since I've
played it over and over in my head for the
past (50 years!)I spent more time deciding which
of the hundreds of VST instruments to use, than I
spent putting it together. It was kinda refreshing
to start and finish a track in one day.

Thanks for stopping by and giving it a listen and
especially for the encouragement with the Fave.

PEACE...

on Forgotten Heart by EmmaniFreeze
Lovely - the sound is very crisp and clear, with some interesting foley, interwoven with gently lilting melodies and chill beats. I think Ive missed at least one of yours - one day I hope to catch up - there is something very comforting in style and tone of your compositions - lovely to listen to

Thanks alot for the great comment. I've been working on mastering lately, trying to make my work sound more professional, and I'm glad it's able to be heard especially with this track! I would say my style is a reflection of my personality. I see how the production makes me feel, then I put it out!

on Four Seasons in One Day by Diskonnect
God damn - got stuck on the phone and my link to LM reset and lost my comment ...aahh - well I was saying ... I love the synth/ subharmonicon sound very cool - the track reminds me of something that might have been produced by Eno back in the day ... for some reason also thinking of Blue Nile (go figure - this is not that gentle).. lots of good mastering tips and advice here on LM - great track already
Diskonnect
Diskonnect replied 27th Jun 2022 - 3 years ago
Haha, been there before and nowadays I usually still highlight and copy my comment before hitting submit just in case it times out or whatever. But thanks anyway for re-commenting!

The Subharmonicon is great, and goes so well with the other synths I have, although it can sometimes be a wild beast to tame.

Thanks for the comment dude, appreciated!

on all i need by klmr29
Hey there - big reverb (or so it sounds) on this one but it gives a nice dreaming space to the mix, some nice soft beats, a cool vox, deep resonating bass and nice melodic elements woven into the mix - great job

Hey Cru
Great - starts off sounding like metal dance music with an Arabic lead break and then its almost disco dance floor after that! As usual a beautiful mix, with love detail throughout and first call production sound. : )

Get down!

Nice swampy vibe, great playing all round (esp the guitar and keys), great vocal performance, lyric made me smile, great sound, cool beats.

When are you touring? Im buying a ticket ; )
Zootman
Zootman replied 19th Jun 2022 - 3 years ago
swampy yes, you know no-one has ever lost out combining the themes of sex and religion, thinking of the Reverend Al Green, Madonna and probably many others. I was pretty happy with the lyrics too, such as they are!

on Caution Over Happiness by ValveDriver
Hey - wow - 10 years of making and posting to LM - good on you. And This is a great sounding track, lots of varied instrumentation and kind of cross genre which (in my view) is very often refreshing.
Here's to another 10 years

Thanks, man. I appreciate it.

I've never been one to color inside the lines, so to speak. If you choose to check out more of the old ones as I upload them, you'll see what I mean.

At any rate, thanks for taking the time to listen to this one, and also for commenting. As I said, I appreciate it. .

Take care.

on Return to Oz by Killick
Your voice sounds very fine to me - maybe you need to drink a lot more and try a pogues song. Not a huge fan of the song itself but you have a lovely sound production on it and it's sounding very polished - It's always good to try a wide variety of styles and see where different genres and forms take you I reckon : )
Killick
Killick replied 11th Jun 2022 - 3 years ago
Thanks, glad you think so. I knew this song wouldn't be to everyone's taste. Though... God... the thought of trying to sound like Shane MacGowan makes my throat hurt lol

Eetzugg is in da house!

This is a fun track, love the work on the pads and keys and those melodic fast arpeggios - its a great example of the style and period.

Well done : )

on primordial databroth 1 by bringerofDOOM
glorious cacophony of colliding sounds and very aptly titled - music for falling into a black hole - there is quite a bit of melody in there (strangely). a fairground organ merry go round sound that sounds like it could evolve into something - I like it!
bringerofDOOM
bringerofDOOM replied 8th Jun 2022 - 3 years ago
Thanks. I listened to hundreds of files of raw data to make a decent sample folder. The amount of sonic information in a raw data file can be astonishing, from clips and pops to "whitish" noise with a million voices hidden inside (particularly when you resample down to about 4X the time duration and -2ish octaves or so.

on Serious by alessandro5c
Really Lovely song - very nice vocal performance, fantastic voice, delicate arrangement, and good sound (except that it is too loud and yes I also suspect clipping a bit). I dont want to tell you how to suck eggs as Im somewhat a novice myself but Id drop it into reaper (its free to trial) and check for clipping and get a measure of the lufs

on Iridumaudio - Devil in your eyes - Equinox Remix by 0Equinox0
Great track - it is wonderful vox but you have really nailed the accompaniment - great beats, especially great and varied bass lines but the keys (little pluck and vibes sounds) are lovely and the rhythm is lovely and bouncy. Superb production sound too. Excellent ... cant use enough superlatives : )

on The Retro Fad by HertzFidelity
Hey there - nice work - builds nicely and does become very trance/ techno - ish. I can never figure out the sidechain stuff in my daw - so despite knowing how it works - I havent managed to get it happening so Im unsure if that might give more bounce and rhythm - but I do like beats and cross beats and the mix of synths and cross melodies. Well done : )
