What a lot of fun - love the balance of elements, psychedelic, prog, funk, and 'quirk', great synth sounds and as commented the drums are masterful - to my ears this gives a nod to zappa, king crimson and genesis or yes but charts it's own place in that landscape : )
Nice stereo panning, great beats/ rhythms with and I like swirling and surging bassline too. Also a cool vox with some nice flourishes with the keys / synths adding variety and maintaining interest - well done : )
YEAH YEAH YEAH - at the start Im thinking it sounds like James Brown meet War and made some lounge music (with quincy jones and frank Z producing) then it settles even more into a beautiful soulful funk with the gorgeous female vox coming in with the other voice - yeah indeed.
It's been a while,
I want to get back in the
swing of things here on LM.
Your comments are a sign that
I must be headed in the right direction.
I appreciate you stopping by and giving the track a listen
and for your colorful and encouraging comments.

not just warm - smoking hot - creeping deep beats and slow turning melodic elements with a great vocal performance and rap. Lingers in the memory which is nearly always a good sign too : )
Oooh, both good ideas, thank you! I will be working on the mix with a guy I know (paid) because I feel it's one of the (many) things holding me back - and it's especially apparent in this song. So I'll also look at that plugin, especially after I hopefully understand it a bit better. Great tip.
The choir is maybe an even better tip. The "sit with me in the quiet" would be absolute goosebumps when done with a choir. Now - I don't actually have a choir at home, but I can write harmonies. I might be able to sing some of it, and you know, maybe I can actually find a choir that would like to sing it :D or else there might be another plugin helping me on that.
Thanks so much for listening and giving ideas! Much love buddy!
Nice work - does remind me of the theme for a show - but that's not a criticism - it's somewhat captivating, a little bit of an earworm and gives a sense of urgency and movement, nice depth to the sound and nice production too. Never entirely in love with trap type beats as they seem so overused but they work well here : )
Gorgeous dreamy start (reminding me a little of the microphones in tone and mood ... I guess horseshead reminds me of elvrum headless horseman track) but here Im drifting in a tone cathedral ... the beat of the drum loop promises something but it seems I was dreaming and Ive woken now, or was I awake and now fallen vert deeply asleep, either way I want to go back to where I was but cant seem to remember where I was.
Great stuff - It would be nice to build on this and twist, deconstruct and reprise the theme and elements. Aspirational indeed.
Ian! You have made me aware of influences i don’t always pick up on, and you hit it every time. So now along with animal co i gotta get reacquainted with mics!
Thanks for seeing more potential in this. I had a much longer version but lost the thread. This track is the salvaged parts. You do make me think it’s one to revisit, i sincerely appreciate that. Good to see you, man!
Nice idea - some nice glitchy sounds in the background adding depth, the synth sound is a little 'samey' but you've done well to add and hold interest with the cool beats, some computer like vox and other percussive and foley like sounds. End result is a very cool track. Well done : )
Thanks for the feedback. I recorded the synth blind, and at at the very point in the track where it should take over and go a bit nuts, it stays in the background and is a little boring and uninspiring. I did try and hide that with the glitchy sounds, but you clearly saw through my ruse. I may go back and re-record it, maybe adding in a longer piece of Morse to make it less samey.
Thats a wild ride - the kick/sub is perhaps a little overdriven (i'd be inclined to have it clipping a little less but it does add a certain nasty edge to the tune) a strong melodic loop too - getting into earworm territory - good work : )
Lovely warm organic sound and the funkiest thing I can ever remember hearing - every instrument is brimming with such smooth funk and the sound is gorgeous right up to and including the ringing cymbal on the outro. The only thing I wanted was some finger clicks for a bar or so right at the start. Masterful. : )
What’s up Ian? Thanks for stopping through. So the high point for me here was achieving that proper low mid range and upper low range sweet spot. Example, my kick beater makes a slight click when it comes in contact with the drum head. That nuance put me in my happy place. Anyway I appreciate your encouraging comments and fave. Have a great rest of your week and stay safe.
Hey Chris - Im floating in cave somewhere and thinking I shouldnt really have eaten those mushrooms but it's going to be alright because my friend Chris told me I can just play his tracks on repeat. Warm, wet, gentle and reassuring.
: )
Classic, maybe one day! You ever pop over this side of the ditch look me up. Goes without saying I love your music. When I hear your creative genius and others on here I sometimes think man, my music sounds so pedestrian. But it is inspirational too. don't work too hard man. chris
This is really nice - the carousel like start belies the vocal choices and especially the nice indi electro beat that goes with the rap for Kmrs... and the Shamoozey adds another wonderful (almost tom waits like) element. It really works well but you'd think it would be incongruous - that is what creativity is all about hey : )
Golden - great vocals and harmonies, lovely guitar and really great sound on the drums, great sound all round in fact. This is an absolutely wonderful cover of a classic song. It interesting that 'australia' likes to claim the Bee Gee's as Australian - but I think they were very much an international act with roots and influences from and on many places. It is almost a shame they were perhaps best know for 'Saturday night fever' when there is such beautiful songs as this. Congratulations on this gorgeous rendition
I would always call them an Aussie band but I get where you're coming from. I wasn't a big fan of the Sat Night stuff, anything before 1970 I like much more.
Hey Danke - massive soundscape on this, an ocean of gorgeous soft metal sounds to swim in, beautiful mix and amazing playing from all the band, lovely bass and drums and the guitar work is especially beautiful.
Batka is a guitarist who is always experimenting... he drives us crazy at rehearsals because he is always looking for sounds... :-)
he really hits these now ...
thanx a lot really ...
fistbump, Danke and the band
Hey Jynxz - love it - very cool - zappaesque hip hop - I listened to this last night before bed on the headphones (not realising I wasnt logged on) ... this morning on the mac speakers the HH's sound a little splashy and the the bass lacks but I didnt think that at all through the headphones so I think it's the tiny speakers not doing it justice. Always love your stuff (well I cant remember not loving it lets put it that way) : )
What's up pseudoble. Is that pronounced "suitable"?
I've been running into some media issues. I can't seem to decide which of my mediums is telling me the truth Car, Van,
Phone (with headphones) or Computer (with headphones). The main problem is each of these mediums has a specific sound that I like (Car/Bass) (Van/Drums) (Phone/separation/Air) etc.
There was a time when my car was my go-to but now .?.?.?
I appreciate you stopping by and giving me some insight on how the track sounds on your end.
Beautiful and dreamy ambience - soundtrack for falling asleep in a hut in the wet wilderness, slow gentle breath, a few random thoughts skating in and out and a sense of deepening relaxation and peaceful contentment ... I could have some more of this : )
Nice work - chill fusion - awash with dreamy sounds and gentle synth arps and lush atmospheric backing vocals - Youve got some nice rhythms coming in and out to which add interest and additional structure - reminding me a little of tangerine dream (which in my view is no bad thing) : )
Thanks for dropping by and giving my track a listen.
I think I have to do some reverse engineering, usually
my tracks are too soft, this one is too loud. I guess I'll
figure out LM's volume algorhythm at some point. I'm pretty sure I'm set to -14 LUF's...
I'm really feelin the Fave, thanks for your encouragement.
Nice atmospheric start, lovely bell like sound on the keys and I like the warm synth (oboe like) sound that runs through - cool trap like beats and the rap and the vocal performance nice too - again really nice sound production and lovely mix : )
