on AND RELAX by ureazy
Amazing when new color comes in at 2:13 - really like the sun coming out from that point. I would be interested in your understanding of how this is ambient as opposed, say, to chill out, or trance for that matter. Nice work. Like it a lot.

on The last psychotic moments of lost Love UPDATED by DijamMusic
oh wow - that hurts at the end! how devastating! I was thinking about chill out versus ambient. I suppose the steady beat argues not ambient. but regardless of genre, your track is spellbinding. nice work. Regards. Dan

on Modnex - FairyTime - Dark Limbo by Modnex
It is so startling to hear an oboe and bells after electronica and hip hip. I played the oboe at one time. Sparkling jewel here. Sweet sounds. Best regards - Dan
Modnex
Modnex replied 18th Jan 2017 - 8 years ago
Thanks Dan! I agree hearing an oboe and bells together is magical. I love woodwind instruments. The sounds can take you places you never imagined, which is why I'm becoming accustomed to using them.

Thanks for the kind words,
take care!

a well sustained mood, sad as an unfinished story is perhaps sad. I see a a character alone, reflecting. Perhaps we see snips of his memories. beautiful, musical work. Regards, Dan

on Lurking by Dodgeek
such a reflective mood you set. the sounds are beautiful and beautifully mixed. don't know much about trap. what puts it in the genre? nice work. regards. Dan
Dodgeek
Dodgeek replied 2nd Jan 2017 - 8 years ago
Thank you, really that means a lot to me !
I'd say that what makes it sound like trap are the drums and the 808 but imo you could just do hip hop or rnb on it, it is just a question of feeling. Regards

on SupernovaMusique and New5ense - Say Yeah by IGS
you pace the whole thing out really well. yes - it is repetitive, but it is building all the way and you add new bits. nice mixing also. listened to it straight through twice and liked it even more second time through. nice work.

on Tia Domanique by Arbus
Interesting ideas Arbus. Really enjoying the crazy licks and the effects. As far as mixing goes, it just seems that the levels are softer in the first two thirds than in the last. Perhaps you did two different sessions? I have been there (electronically - not live). Best wishes. Dan
Arbus
Arbus replied 18th Dec 2016 - 8 years ago
Thanks, midisparks. Yes, I actually did the bottom third prior to the first two. Good ear!

on Beyond Nebulous by Neomorpheus
this is the kind of music i loved to be stoned to and get lost in. what do you know, i am getting that escape with your work even without the weed. great work and look forward to more. Dan
Neomorpheus
Neomorpheus replied 18th Dec 2016 - 8 years ago
Hi Dan, I guess it is a bit stoner-ish but I'm not so sure I would want to get lost in here. Kind of a dark and foreboding track that tends to suggest there is something scary in the far reaches of outer space or within the dark corners of our minds.

on FiveCar SmileUp by Spivkurl
I can relate to the desperation, the frustration, the agonizing in the vocal. Given over 600 plays, someone else must be feeling this as well. congrats on great work Pat.
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 16th Dec 2016 - 8 years ago
These are surely desperate times, and then the po po's and admins wonder why people are acting out in desperation! It is one of the few medicines left for a sick society. I had no idea this song would get played this much, since it's over 700 now! Soundcloud is so pathetic now... this song has 13 plays there... just sayin'! It's always a pleasure to have you visit one of my songs, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's new on your profile.

on Young Speedy NO Panties Ft AMG and Icy Mic B by Icymicb
solid mix. i wonder if you could normalize the whole thing up to a higher volume if you hard limit those two bits of wave that are sticking up like flagpoles. nice steamy lyric. great rapping.
Icymicb
Icymicb replied 9th Dec 2016 - 9 years ago
Thanks Man... I really appreciate the critique especially being that I'm working on the final mix down. Sometimes you get studio ears and really need another opinion before you get started. Its like I get tunnel vision. I will definitely normalize and maximize the volume. Thanks for the constructive criticism its greatly appreciated.

thank you. the video was fun to make. some of the videos were stock videos and 2 were on you tube. I put credits to the producers on you tube. when I created the piece I felt I needed to put a visual to it.
