cinematic (for me) i see some scene from the dark ages! then there is a scene change at the end - which I hope you will continue. lots of beautiful material here. peace.
it is a beautiful, patient soundscape. you really do have your audience in mind with your work, Orlando. we can breathe, our thoughts transition gently as do the sections of your work. thanks a lot. very inspiring. Dan
great to hear this awesome baritone sax solo (or is it tenor?) i like the vocal effect a lot - can't remember what it is called - but it sounds cool. very tasteful piano ending! peace.
i enjoy your music a lot. you create a beautiful atmosphere and your solo work is very expressive. you sustain the mood and maintain interest with all sorts of refining touches. best of luck with your production work. Dan
Thanks very much for the neatly expressed high praise. Unsurprisingly, I can't really fault it.
The refining touches are what I do on a constant basis and they sort of become the track. So, you start with a good riff and then keep adding extra touches and fills and layered riffs and spot effects and so on. And then those extra details end up becoming just as important and distinctive as the main riffs and parts.
I love all that detail and I hope it's the kind of thing of thing that makes my music stand out from various other instrumental tracks that perhaps drag a bit in some sections or don't really go anywhere after a while.
I'm a bit bored of working on this track but it's now up to over 14 mins long so I'll upload it fairly soon. Well, as much as I can fit on here (so, probably about 10:50).
i like the "clipping" sound you get. the track has has edge. nice the way you change up the intensity. lots can be done to develop this neat concept. nice work.
the scattered drum hits at the beginning, punctuating the vocals is real effective (imho). it's a great intro and it feels great when you drop the main groove. like your guitar work and the track a lot. nice work and congrats on breaking in to uncharted territory. peace
Thank you so much for the review of this one and your kind words, currently trying to finish a pop track, very pleased you enjoyed the track mate...Peace n Respect Mosaic...
I am really liking how the piano fits into the mix. Liking the mix a lot. About that writers block - glad u beat it. About what it sounds like - yes maybe it would suit for a scene from anime flic but it stands well on its own. Happy stuff and a great start to my day. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words, Midisparks! I'm happy you enjoyed this one. I'm thankful I got over the writers block too. It's a real pain when your creativity just gets stuck and you can't let any of it out, wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Def what I need to roll into my Monday with a good spirit. Liking that low growly hit like 1:10 in. I pretty much am heading punk screamfest over this awesomeness. Thanks for the pumping up. Big thumbs up.
very cool. hypnotic. i was thinking how interesting it might be to add little hits here and there against your groove. some weird shit you know? also some effects - maybe transforming the sound subtly and so forth. nice work. hope you keep going with it.
so much fun! masterful mix! super energy. nice changeup at 2:20. a lot of attention to vocal effect. panning back and forth fading in from the distance. lots of attention to detail. thoroughly enjoying. closing my eyes now for rest of the ride. big congrats on this work. regards.
Thanks man, Your inspiring comments are most welcome and i'm glad you could spare six or so minutes to listen to this track.
Thanks for dropping in.

i relate to your phrasing - there is a bit of "odd-meter" to it. 3 bar or 5 bar phrases instead of 2s and 4s. i go further sometimes - 7/8 5/8, etc. which makes me impossible to collab with usually! LOL. very image rich music. very moody, full of a tension, or suspense. really congrats on this work. it is compelling as hell. and simple in a brilliant way - the best stuff is always so simple! big congrats again on this one.
for me it was an invitation to daydream, to allow my mind to wander. i was aware of the gentleness of the melodies, the attention to placement of sounds in the field, the use of acoustical versus electronic. a beautiful concept beautifully executed. all the best.
MTG!
I think u have a winner here. You have so much imagination with the vocal editing and a great technique to execute. I think in ur final mix u should bring the vocal work way up front. We hate to sacrifice the other beautiful sounds but of course you bring them back up in non-vocal sections. I think u will maximize the audience emotional connection to the track this way. Good luck. All the best. Dan
Thanks, Half of the editing you hear in the vocals were actaully in the original acapella so I can't take all the credit! I did some extra little modifications though and some additional chopping/arranging.
Appreciate the feedback, I mixed it quite low so I could bring up some stuff that needed to so thanks for the feedback and I will amend :).
beautiful sounds and lots of them. to my ear, a fantastic job of mixing/mastering. I liked the entrance of the vocalise and how she comes in again at the end. you move from color field to color field so seamlessly and the composition is so well unified. hats off to you! cheers. Dan
i like the energy of your track a lot. it is a very nice groove and I never get tired of it. plus you elaborate on it now and then with a little extra line or color. this is one of those pieces where all the attention to detail can be easily taken for granted because it all fits together so perfectly. but i suspect you put a lot of effort into this and it shows. beautiful work. thoroughly enjoyed. cheers!
yea. i can feel how the Orlando track is the inspiration here. there is the same pace, the same meditative feeling. this is a very magical piece and I love it. all the best and continue success. regards, - Dan
a beautifully balanced mixed, with rich sounds and melodic motion that come out so clearly. it is, like spivkurl says, a meditation, or a medication, and I am all for it. he has left his phase, you are entering, I have just discovered it! thanks for this beautiful piece.
Thanks to you, my friend, for this kind comment...this sort of appreciation keeps me in artistic motion and it's strong encouragment for the future...thank you for that!:)
where is my soul! holy cow! wild active beat. lots of attention to detail here. a lot of work in this and sounds fantastic. real techno age chaos! i think there is room to "effect" the voice more (like you start to in the final part) - strange it out! great track! thoroughly enjoy.
Thanks my friend for giving this a listen! I won't be going back to change anything on this now, I'm very much in the moment when it comes to writing and mixing now, so once it's out there, I'm pretty much done with it. Was nice to work with Benham a little bit! Hope you are well!
it is a hot mix of percussion and you get all of the sounds coming through clearly in their proper place. no easy task. it is a subtle energy that you achieve - but there is great energy for sure. great start! don't let it go! all the best.
Actually once you listen to Drum and Bass you get addicted to it and it never leaves you...Same thing happened to me and I decided to make a classic DnB song....
And its pretty much hard to program beats and manage the the arrangement.
fantastic use of the white noise (is that it?) you create great builds. lots of intensity. it is super effective coming off of those builds, like around 3:15, and chilling with that bass. same when you go back to those plucked interludes (like pizzicato strings except synths). super well done mix. I hear it continuing . . .
the chorus voice sounds really cool. was wonderin what effect you used to mix that. very beautiful mix - transparent - the drumwork is subtle. i like when the tuned drums comes in. that is a nice touch. great work!
has an 'island' feel to it. the low tom-tom work is really nice. gives it also that carribean or african feel. seems you like organ. that is fresh. not used so much it seems. very enjoyable, relaxing. should be sittin chilling at a tropical bar with this. nice work/concept.
you have a good handle on the strings. you use a glissando effect? you might find a way to expand harmonically? i hear b minor and maybe you could find a way to outline D major. because i hear a happy, carefree lyric here! and the major chord should support that. good luck with it. nice start. i am also an FL user - quite the novice still. peace.

Yes it is a baritone.
I think, it is autotune the singer used. I did add some few effects like reverb etc. on it as well.
