Your drum groove fits well. I definitely hear a rap over this. Your beat is musical with little bits of variation. It is simple, honest, heartfelt. Nice work. All the best. Dan
it evokes a movie scene for me. some cowboy coming back to the office late at night and entering without authorization for some dark purpose. nice use of recorded sounds. regards - Dan
Hows it going Dan? I love the images these soundscapes evoke for others. Don't I miss that bank! I recorded the train a few times, even made a soundscape once of zombies attacking as I was in there. I wonder what Cowboy was up to. Did you put him up to adjusting the records on your mortgage to show one payment left? ;)
I made a still photo video for fb of this with a train passing through a dilapidated industrial city, it was the closest pictoral representation of the area I could find without actually going there and photographing. Funny you mention cowboy, just up the road is a nightclub called Club Texas.
nice beat and harmonic progression. at the end of the progression, I think there is some correction of a note needed in the chords or bassline underlying the guitar melody. I hear some dissonance that does not quite belong. Nice sound - best of luck with further development. Dan
in the simplicity of your track you create something very compelling. I love the sounds of kick and snare, and the little fills here and there - everything transparent. this is to dance to.
i like your choices of sounds, your builds, and the arrangement in general. the snare and kick and clap have nice presence. vocal could be more present in mix (IMHO) nice work
amazing work on the vocals - wow! panning is really effective. guitar work toward the end forebodes more! Great work and looking forward to more of it! Dan
Hey Burt. It was great discovering your track tonight. Sounds amazing. It's fantastic (and inspirational) to see you totally in the zone with your homemade instruments - and now posting with them! Look forward to more. Dan
Hey Dan! These people have ruined me!! I don't touch my production guitars anymore, except my bass, and fell in love with the hand crafted guitar slides and picks, the production ones lack mojo. Had a blast vending at Maine's first cigar box guitar festival, did very well and met some great people. You guys in Pennsylvania just had one this weekend, and made the Guiness book of world records for most people playing cbgs at once, Bad to the Bone. Homemade instruments have become a big thing lately. I finally made that gourdtar and two gourd amps (one sold), I remember the painting you had a few years ago of a gourd dulcimer. Finally got home internet again so I can participate here once more. Inspirational is very good :D Maybe we'll have to work together again. This guitar was one of the first made, still my fav after a few years. Oh yes, there'll be more, just deciding what to upload next, while I play around and record more. I need to get back into this digital production stuff, been away from it for quite a while. Good to see you Dan!
very rich mix. beautiful sounds. love the growl in the 808 on the bottom. but all the sounds are very clear and well-balanced. the sustained synth portions are breathtaking.
the contrast of the angry rap over the beauty of the track is very effective. and there is great emotional build as the track reaches the end.
I would polish the end but i can understand, musically, your choice.
Thanks so much midisparks! Ha. yeah, I usually spend much more time with the end but I felt the way he sounded i should just cut it. You give great comments. :)LAm
she is cute as hell. i'm hypnotized by this one. super relaxed groove, great timing for bringing and out your different elements, including the vocal. nice job
cool intro. i love that piano line on my right side. lots of interesting sounds. that is a great long hitting snare also. as far as the rap goes - from a musical point of view I find it a bit monotonous. I like the variety of voices that do the rapping. that helps me stay involved. Great work on this track. Best of luck.
Hi. Thanks. That's not a snare its a clap. Yeah, I wish I understood what he was saying, but I don't. But, tyvm for taking the time to make a comment. I really appreciate your input. Love positive critiques. Ty. LAm:)
fantastic control of sounds. you do some really interesting modulation it seems. what I'm just trying now to get a handle on. should be good base for somebody's rap. good luck with sales.
your ideas are amazing. it's well arranged also. i understand you are learning the ropes with mixing but I think you have a great start. All the best. Dan
I love your synth work. Love the floating, dreamy texture you create. real inspiration. nice builds and feel for drops. good luck with everything. regards- Dan
