i like the construction. i like how you bring the original groove back at the end and create a cool closing. super elements all the way through. great feel for builds. i think you are off to a great start. congrats!

i guess i need to understand the purpose of your production. you are creating backgrounds for rappers? thanks for dealing with my ultimate naivete
unstableonthetrack
unstableonthetrack replied 12th May 2019 - 6 years ago
Exactly. I'm working on trying to find a sound for myself in my productions so that rappers can do their work on them. I've gotten down into the final stages of my production techniques and now I'm trying to figure out transitions and FX within my productions. Especially transitions from intro to verse and 1st chorus to 2nd verse.

you create lots of subtle background interest which speaks to your attention to detail. a beautiful sounding mix. i understand this to be foundation work, not a finished track.

Thank you.. I've been doing that for a long time, I feel like it helps add more to the song and brings it more character. I'm a firm believer that it's the little details that add up that breathe life into music.

is the autotune your effect? it sounds very good. very tasteful, well-balanced mix. your percussion sounds are sweet.

nice mix. the most sophisticated mixes are sometimes the ones that sound the "simplest" this one has the beautiful simplicity. love it.

on DavID feat Sergi Yaro - Back 2 U by DagaViberider
you have a solid foundation here. his vocal has long build sections which make the accompanying build challenging to maintain interest and tension. what are you looking for in collab at this point?
DagaViberider
DagaViberider replied 10th May 2019 - 6 years ago
Hi midisparks, thanks for your comment.

Right its not always easy to build a melodie and music around some vocals and hold the tension and know when to ad effects and so on. I am also a beginner so I just startet to make music about 3 month ago. I did a little when i was younger but stoped. I dont know exactly what im searching in Collab, i thought that it means that me and someone else will work on a Track together?! Or has i missunderatood that? :/

i love this groove. like how you handle transitions. great use of cymbals. i would ask for something more magical from your intro and a little more of your excellent transitions technique to bring us from intro to main section

sweet sounding bass and I like what you do with it. for my taste the vocal could be less muffled - more prominent. I think this was an artistic decision though - what you were after. Nice work.

on Vaya Familia - Samba House Instrumental by Rexsaw
i like the layering of percussion on top of everything else. i would strive for a bit more clarity and differentiation of the various percussion sounds. you have an interesting bongo groove, for example, that could be more prominent with a bit of mixing. nice work

some funk elements perhaps. is that a live performance by you on the sax? what great riffs! what a sexy surprise the emergence of the female voice. nice job. really enjoyed it. could add a whole second section and a reprise to this one! regards - Dan

Hey Dan,

Happy to read you liked this one :)

i know it's a little short but it was the purpose. Usually, i work on duration between 3 and 4 minutes, sometimes, changes are good for breaking a kind of monotony lol

on Doing A Thing Will by Spivkurl
I am relistening this morning, after a long hiatus from looperman. I've only listened to about half of it as I need to comment on a few tracks to get my own new one to appear. Your particular blend of spoken word, references in your grooves to established genres, and thoroughly unique soundscapes really distinguishes your work on this site. Dan

on Fire In The Afterlife by StaticNomad
Hi, Nomad. I understand your concern about developing a more powerful ending. But from my perspective as a fresh listener I can totally understand how the track winds down with an improvised feeling over a steamy, India flavor groove. I love the sounds and your arrangement. Great to hear a track of yours again after some time off the site. Regards, Dan
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 22nd Jan 2019 - 6 years ago
Thanks again for your appreciation.

The ending just isn't good enough. A bit of wind down but nothing definitive or particularly interesting. Good endings are hard to do!

Yes, I'm not on the site much these days because of a serious drop in my musicality and ability to produce decent music. I think I only uploaded 4 tracks last year.

Thanks for the thoughts.

on Metro Boomin Type Beat by SicarioBeatz
great sound you got in this one. possibly the concern about the bass is that it is fully sustained? it might enhance the transparency you otherwise achieve with your elements if there was some separation and decay of bass notes. nice work and good luck with future development.
