What's up Paul,

Ian said "Cosmic Jazz" oldgoon901 said "Jazz"
and you say "Space Jazz"...
I guess the common denominator is JAZZ.
I feel a track coming using all three, thanks.
I'm terrible at names and genres, so now I got three.

Thanks for giving my track a listen and for your continued
encouragement.

PEACE... From across the big blue pond.

on all those years by phantomproduction
hey Michael this is great, i agree with Chris its more rock with a pop edge. genres are for anoraks really, the vox are red hot the sound production is great and its difficult to use vocals from another track and fit them perfect on new music ive done it a few times here with big pun biggie the specials pet shop boys and its a mess about to get everything tight. one of the main reason i started to write my own and TRY to sing :)) but i do love just sampling and adding my own bits and fx, thats what got me interested in this world, i'll never be great but i will eventually start writing bits in the piano roll. never did i expect to become engulfed in production, its because of this site and its people. this mate was a beautiful listen for me very well done

Hi Paul, like Chris I think you're right, this track sounds a bit more rock than pop (probably my hard rock roots resurfacing) but with Lauren's Voice I really like the rock side of her timbre!

on Go On by crucethus
love this Cru that reverb is sic, the guitar is fly as ##### and the drums are solid, really chilled out love the synth work and the impacts and precussion would love a female voxs on this, great job mate
crucethus
crucethus replied 1st Jul 2022 - 4 years ago
Thanks, fun fact, at 1:13 there was really no snare, but some Valhalla magic and we have a gated snare in the mix. A female vox would be nice. I was looking at that but ultimately decided not to add it at this time, but you are right that would work. Much appreciated is your visit mate, I hope life is moving well for you now!

on Modnex - Last Breath WIP by Modnex
hi Modnex, nice track, you need to finish this. for your sake not just your young cousins, otherwise it will eat away at you. ive suffered this a number of times with friends, once is to many, ive suffered pain in the hardest form, my mum was murdered when i was 15, ive suffered mental health issues too and know all about blaming yourself, you ask yourself too many times, why didnt i see this, was i around enough, could i have done more. the truth is, you never really have the answers and the hurt kills you if you dont share your troubles, its not gonna take away the pain, but it lightens the load, i done a cathartic song about my mental health here (overwhelming thoughts) and had great support from the guys, remember your not alone in this, there's lots of people who have experienced it or similar and feel exactly the same as you and your family, reach out bro it helps, take it from somebody that has the t shirt, im 56 now and still feel the pain daily. life does move on and yes it does get easier just, you made the biggest step by sharing with us strangers that can be the biggest challenge, admitting your own hurt. i got your back. like everything you done, just needs mixing down better. i felt compelled to comment mate its brave to share personal #####.

Modnex replied 3rd Jul 2022 - 4 years ago
Thanks, Paul!! I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and the pain you've gone through. Life is hard and sometimes it feels overwhelming being here. But, it's best to take it day by day and step by step. When my cousin passed, my entire family was in a state of shock. We couldn't believe he would do that. Then slowly, more and more details started coming out about his case. He attempted to take his life once before, but got scared and called an ambulance after downing a bunch of pills. That side of the family wanted to keep it hush, hush, so they put him in a mental hospital under 72 hours' watch and didn't tell the rest of us. He told his dad he would never go back to an institution, which now knowing what we do, meant the next time he attempted it, he wouldn't stop; he kept his promise.

In these types of situations, it's hard not to blame yourself, but the reality of it is, that nothing we would have/could have done would have changed the outcome -- it might have slowed it down, but if he was set in doing it, he would have found a way eventually. I'm so thankful for your support and that support works both ways. If you ever need an ear, I'm here.

Thanks, my friend. Take care for now.

What's up Paul,

Herbie Hancock is one of my all time favorites.
I think he has brought a lot to the music scene
in respect to Keyboards.

You can probably find at least a sample or two of
the "Ghosthack Vocals" on all of my tracks. I call them
my "Bro's and Brides of Funkenstien"lol.

Thanks for giving my track a listen and for the encouraging comments.

PEACE...

on Trouts Truth by pseudoble
hey Ian, i really like this the spoken vocal is great the music and mix are delightful, i like the distorted bass, it adds texture to the melodic charm, but like ValveDriver its distracting playing right through i would also chop it up, 2-3 smaller sections maybe run a fade in and a fade out on the sample or an envelope to dampen it so its not in your face so much. but i love your creativity and always pushing the boundaries and delivering original material, you are becoming the DON on spoken too mate, just that tweak for me, but again personal choice only dictating my judgement, keep being you mate
pseudoble
pseudoble replied 23rd Jun 2022 - 4 years ago
Thanks for the warm feedback mate - see reply to V for the work around required for the distorted bass sound ; )

on jesus has a mighty sword by Zootman
this is so fresh Chris got a hip hop bounce in there with that jazz, the title is cool AF. another great vocal mate, it appealled to me and my situation over the last year or so with work colleagues, all gutless #####, no more ##### with me now, i threatened them, and walked out. not the cleverest thing, but i dont do clever, just reality.
thats why ive been quiet of late, lost my mojo a bit, not been in the mood even though i got my upgrade, i aint done nothing.
but ive done a bit of listening today and this and others have perked me up in the 30 degree uk sun, yep its red hot. and to top it, the start of my cities dance and street art festival, last year was great.
cool listen for me for sure, there is daring in it just like me

woah man, heatwave. good luck with the dance comp bro. and sorry to hear about the job, I remember you being pretty excited about getting it a while back :( Hope we'll hear something new from you soon but you know, if the inspiration isn't there sometimes its best just to accept that. Then one day..boom, something emerges out of nothing.

great creativity Ian love the spoken word mate, great fx added makes you listen intently the guitar is cool and the drum simplistic sparse instrumentation but manipulated so cool, well done mate. im struggling for inspiration at the minute, been a tough month, but keep checking in, looking for a spark, get out of this current mood ive found myself in

Hey mate - thanks for the warm feedback - sorry to hear you are in a bit of a fugue (the psychological rather than musical kind) Im quietly confident that such a creative and crafty old (but not as old as me) bugger will soon find his mojo. I like the maxim when things appear to be going slowly slow down ... good (but paradoxical) reminder to focus on what is already present and that there is often no real need to work too hard (just hard enough) ... if only I could remember that myself ... well as the poet in my track says 'one of these days' : ) I'm in your corner mate.

on I Dont Like Bananas When They Get Too Ripe by CitizenMofo2
thanks Mofo like Steven says Schoolhouse Rock, your originality stands you out, im loving these TM's and being a grandfather myself i know that you have the ultimate feeling of love that ONLY granparents feel. i love to sing to mine. my oldest Roman is two, Mia-Mae six months my sons, my daughter is due in 4 weeks, her first a girl, Isla. Im blessed.
Roman loves music, my son has his nans rolland electric piano full size at home so hes always banging the keys and i take my sticks over and he loves street drumming, gets his buckets out and starts banging, great age to get him interested. please keep bringing this out the box work, yes its different but its inspirational bro, and who the ##### wants normal all the time, not me for sure

Oh, I'm so happy to hear about your grandkids. Because I know that you're just like me, surprised at how lucky you are to get to be a grandparent. I'm sure you never knew you had so much love inside of you. And when you get older, the love is all about serving others, not yourself anymore; you kinda get past that a little bit. i'm never so happy as when I'm throwing a ball with my grandson or playing Barbies with one my granddaughters. People look at us and think, oh you sad old #####. But we're really the lucky ones!
