I think it's great as it stands. Something fresh about it like that. Very nice work fam.... especially like the cello part.

Thanks SchmeeJ. I tried to arrange it to where it could stand just as an instrumental. I'm not use to people putting vocals on my tracks, but I wouldn't mind someone on this.

on Intake (CMK) by CallMeKing
hellz yeah! Love it from the start!! I agree with VM though...you gotta let everything take its turn. Imagine that its a band...you gotta have "jam ettiquete" and let everybody take a turn... But I didn't think it was too overcrowded, and I think it's awesome as it stands. Very nice work!

on long gone by Sector7even
Nahhh...not country with a Moby vocal. It's gotta have that twang in the vox man, thats what makes true country. Especially these days when honky tonk and rock seem to be influencing country music BIG TIME. But thats just because they are trying to come up with something new in a wore out genre.... why else would they accept KID FREAKIN ROCK as a country artist? The song is great though...no doubt. I love the dropped d guitar, thats another rock or blues element. I agree that its more southern rock. Great Job, fam... just try to stay away from country man, it'll suck you in and leave you without a truck or a dog!

Yes Dave! Man I love this...what a way to start my day! The instrument/percussion you selected are perfect for the movement on this. I love the way you pan the chimes like a wave. Great work and you know I love the tone of your bass, so I won't even mention it here.

on never let me down by Resonanc
wait a minute...we need a judge ruling on this one. Can you have an acoustic guitar in house music? Will it work? Well, the answer is a resounding.... YES and YES! Man this is so nice! I'm impressed. Simplicity rules! Just keeps ya movin right along and in the upbeat! Great job fam!

on The Road Home (update) by AllenV
This was a great listen! I'm with you...I do all this hip hop and other crap on here...but I play guitar and have yet to put up an actual acoustic thing! I'm gearing up to start doing acoustic loops (rock and blues). I like the beginning part and then when you double it up.....oh man! In the beginning I hear a whole different song that could use a 90's hair band flowing lead... you know the one, kinda like Great White. Nothing too heavy.
Nice showcase of your talents my friend! Favd n Saved!

on What Matters (Collab with Wayne) by Marj
Miranda Lambert....not so much to me. Alanis Morriset...yes absolutely! Theres no mistaking it.... you probably wore out "Jagged Little Pill". I really like your voice! I can also tell that you were probably a little song bird when you were a little girl. Thats the funny thing about music...its either in you or its not... and if it is its been there since day one! You're a real treat Marj! Thanks for the great tunes and keep it up!

on You Make Me Feel Good (MrDecaf) by Marj
OOHHH, I'm in love! Girl, you got it going on! I love what you did with this....so smooooth. Your voice is so nice! You really know how to use it well and I can tell you really feel the music. You can't teach that...its either there or it's not. The quality is a little low, but the rawness of this is there. Very Nice....FAV'D n saved!

Wow! Thank you for the such nice review. I appreciate it. I know, the quality is low, it's just a webcam mic plus i don't know much my software. But thank you, once again for taking time to listen to this.

on RISE by DJDOUBLE
I like the hook Dub, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere! Seems just a little flat to me.... I think you need to put a phat bassline in there. I dig your tunes lil bro, and I know you what you got in you... thats the only reason I'm saying this to you! This just doesn't seem to be up to your usual "kill it" style! It's good for anybody else....but coming from you... its just ok to me. Still a good job...just not as great as you usually put out. I'm a big fan of yours fam, have no doubt about that!

on Hot Pursuit by Saxobones by SLAPJOHNSON
Finally some real instruments!! I gotta say I love this....seems more rock/jazzish than funk...but I guess thats kinda what funk is. I love the name and the fact that your son follows you...haha...in hot pursuit! I liked what I heard, Slap... but I'm going to have to listen again when I get home through some Headphones to really give ya a good critique. But I gotta say I don't think I'll have anything for you other than get into the lead sax a little sooner. But I have a short attention span and I think the "Sax line" sets up the melody and the jam part perfectly! Maybe a shared lead...still chasing you but in a call back thing like he's right on your heels... (cause ya know he really is right there with ya Slap!)... but together.
SLAPJOHNSON
SLAPJOHNSON replied Unknown
Hi DJS, thanks for lending this one your ears. I have already noted the constructive comments people have kindly left, and I'm on with the remixed version. I am going to leave the arrangement as it is though as this is an album track and this allows some tracks to be long and drawn out.

Cheers, Slap...

I disagree with you Becca....The MUSIC makes this soooo freakin sexy! He could be reading the Bible to this and it'd come out sexy (no blastphemy intended!). So smooootthhh. Awesome Job! Wish I had your RnB feel, girl! Now you should ad your voice with some "ooooooohss" and "ahhhhssss"...lol!

on In The Beggining by TheFightingOne
Nothing like a piano cello combo to drive some emotion. The cello is a little thin to me. I use Reason 4 also and I found an awesome cello in there in the NNXT. Maybe down another octave would be more suiting cause, of the emotion from the lower range on the cello will move you to tears. Nice job... keep your head up, everything happens for a reason! You can't find the one you were meant to be with if your still with someone who was never right for you in the first place!

on Jam that Sound Right Now ( instrumental ) by JamesDavies
Keep workin at it Lil Bro... just play with your DAW and tweak stuff here and there. First and foremost is you gotta figure out tempo and timing! The BPM refers to Beats per minute and thats the key you need to focus on...using matching BPMs or stretching/shrinking time/tempos on your DAW!
JamesDavies
JamesDavies replied Unknown
Thanks I didn't know what Bpm refered to.

on Voices by DemetriVoultsos
This has potential... but it looses sync at around :45.... then everything seems to be a cluster f**k of sounds. Man this deserves to be worked on! The beats sound like they are panned wide and the guitar sounds center... consider swapping them and adding a bass line...rework the looping and sync it tighter! Compress the beats to make them stand out a little heavier. Get the music tight then flow on it. I say all of this because I think this can be great, and I really like it! But I want to LOVE it! Great job!

Cool man! Thanks for the advice. I kinda heard it get messed up at 45 when i was producing it but then i just said f**k it!

on Soft Party by Jalyn
I love this Girl! The flow is so spot on! This is VERY good! The levels are a bit off though, cause the lead synth sounds like its clipping... and it too dominating in the track. One things I like to experiment with (I use reason 4) is creating another Bass device and drag that lead track into it and see what it sounds like as a hard bass. You should be proud of this.

on Dont Test Meh While Meh Knockn by Blume by BlumeChoon
Blume this is crazy! The one thing about reggae is the bass line flow, the guitar in the downbeats, the snappy drums... and you got it all in there and then some! This is really crazy, but really good. Reminds me of the way "Rage Against the Machine" started out with a hard mix of styles.
BlumeChoon

Hey thanks man!!! I appreciate the kind words brutha... I'm glad you enjoyed this one... You comparing it to the beginnings of Rage against the machine is a hell of a compliment man... Wow!!! thanks again for stoppin by to have a listen... I'll have to swing by and check some of your new stuff!!!

on Felixville by Planetjazzbass
PJB...sounds like you threw this together in 10 minutes man...what? Oh...sorry! Great jam. lol! Not really sure what to think about this one, but the bass is superb. I love the jazz fusion sound on your bass parts. It always makes me think you are playing a fretless because of the "boing" factor. And I agree with JFW, very "Zappaish".
Planetjazzbass
Planetjazzbass replied Unknown
Hehe...thanks man,I always like what you have to say...you've been around the musical block a few times and know the score...the weird thing about this track was the get together with Felix,he'd come down from the top end of Australia to stay with me and fulfil his younger brother's last wish (Cam..probably one of the biggest influence on me musically...a keyboard player and life long friend) of spreading his ashes at a local race track..we played this with Cam's remains sitting on top of my piano........anyway here's to the 'boing" factor! lol..cheers Dave :)
