Very early morning here, 5 am..... Couldn't sleep, this soothed my soul. Beautiful vocal and lovely relaxed and restrained music that did everything it needed to and no more. Perfection...

on VT Nights X KayOS - Dreamscape by Kayos2
Different... Trippy. I liked it. And yes, a great track from Darren to which you added something special. I like spoken word stuff. I did a similar waking dream type narrative on one of pseudobles tracks ages ago which i had been thinking of revisiting, you may have inspired me to do so. Cheers Chris.

Howzit? Yoy know I like your stuff, you have a distinctive and unique style and delivery, plus your lyrics often resonate.

I know what you mean with going back and reworking stuff. I've been going back to some old tracks that I think are worthwhile or mean something to me too, remixing and remastering... It's a catch 22, rather be working on something new but hearing what can be better with a bit more know how. Anyhow, have a good day man and keep at it. Zoot.

on Refrain - The Monzder Squadd by TheMonzderSquadd
Hard out bro. Freaking epic in scope, great vocals. Linkin Park section is feral and visceral. This pretty much flew by, great trip.

Thanks alot bro! we have really been having a blast the last few months - and we also learned that just letting each song become what it wants to become instead of trying to force it to be what We want it to be leads to the best music we can possibly bring overall. Im glad to hear that sense of something epic shines thru, and I kno my brother will be happy too. This was also the most vocals/verses Ive done for a song so far, I feel so proud of my writing and how much ive learned. thanks for listening man!

on On The Train by BaoBou
Much better listen this time. I could hear your lovely melodic, subtle and slightly yearning guitar licks. You really are a very good lyricist to boot.

I was thinking again about train songs. The other one that comes to mind and is a fav is Dylan's Takes a lot to laugh, takes a train to cry. Have a good one BB

on On The Train by BaoBou
Top song writing again and vocals so good and clear in the mix. Suits the mood I always get sitting in a train tho the other train song association that comes to my mind is The Who's 5:15 off quadrophenia but that's a different kettle of fish. By the by, your writing reminds me of The Humps here in looperman but he hasn't been around for a while unfortunately.

BaoBou replied 29th Jan 2025 - 1 year ago
Getting compared to the Who can't be a bad thing ;) I'll listen to that one though, I imagine it's quite different!

on 250119-110bpm by JohnMatteson
I think there's some great ideas in there. To me it needs the bass a little more up front to anchor it or else periods with a more steady drum beat. Plus I felt like I was waiting for the drop after the intro that didn't quite come. But there's some beautiful dynamics in there and I like the track. I'll be interested to see how it devellops. Whew I don't generally critique to that level, I must like the track!

Z I really dig your insight and input, it really gets my mind to think more about dynamics and the mix, thank you so much!

on VT Nights x KayOS - Red Red Roses by Kayos2
You piqued my interest with the owl impersonations. Ah yes just heard it lol. Very cool vocal processing and love the lyrics. True story?
Kayos2
Kayos2 replied 20th Jan 2025 - 1 year ago
I watched 4 youtube vids to get the owl right - first squeaky one is female and the deeper one is the male. Not actually a true story, I'm afraid. When I wrote the lyrics, I wanted the Spirit Lady to be very much in her own frame, so she died alone but I didn't want her to die by a disorder or disease - Oli said let it be lightning! Kerching, then the story was complete - Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated - Kay

on Terra by AnthonyAttard
Very nice track. Interesting fusion. I find it curious that despite being quite a robotic beat, trap lends itself to this sort of atmospheric, cinematic music. Cool stuff.
AnthonyAttard
AnthonyAttard replied 17th Jan 2025 - 1 year ago
Oh yes, it is quite a robotic beat, unfortunately programming the drums and in general the rhythmic part takes a lot of time and there is a lot one should know about these instruments. I try to make the track "realistic" but it is clear it is not the real thing. It is very pleasant though that in general it gave you the feeling of atmospheric, cinematic music.
Thanks a lot for your comments
My best regards, Anthony.

Wicked, one from my favorite LM duo. Had to listen straight away. Your voice and the production is fantastic as it always is. Great song, love the words. This is just dreamy, well done both and hi to jynxz.

Hi Chris, oh yes, it really is dreamy. But combined with a pinch of hope. And you know yourself that that is a real currency at the moment!
Btw (CAN) ... I had a listen to MOTHER SKY lately ... still great!
Cheers and all the best to you,

on Vizzio Freestyle - Morash Freestyle Beat by TheMonzderSquadd
Yeah man, this is cool. I don't listen to much rap or hip hop but every so often I get the urge. I think I'm still stuck in the 80's as far as hip-hop is concerned cause I still love my Public Enemy - probably cause I tend to gravitate towards music with a message when it comes to this genre. Anyway, I can't even imagine trying to pull something like this off, even just in terms of the timing and the phrasing. So respect on that, the vox were totally on point. Actually, pretty funny the lyrics in places. Cheers man.
TheMonzderSquadd
TheMonzderSquadd replied 23rd Jan 2025 - 1 year ago
Thanks alot for listening, man. Its crazy but i honed my vocal styles and my ad-libs by freestyling basically everyday for years - I started when i was 15 years old, and my brother was always helping and encouraging me. In all honesty, Aaron's talent and knowledge of music has always been limitless to me, I always wanted to understand and learn the stuff that he does, even a bit jealous at times. But then i realized that our talents are meant to work together to achieve even greater things. Hes been telling me all that for years lol. one day it all just clicked for me.I think we are only going to get better as we do more projects, 2025 is our year.

Kia ora from NZ. Man you have some amazing stuff on here. So diverse and willing to experiment and have fun.

When I go back and hear early stuff and read the comments I think Looperman was probably a much cooler place than now. Too generic now a lot of the time.

I took the liberty of looking up Flat Top, looks beautiful. U really a forest ranger? I'm an ecologist...

Lastly, I wonder what your daughter thinks of this now? It's classic.

Cheers Zoot

yampaja replied 6th Jan 2025 - 1 year ago
She is starting like it more these days. She grew into a great singer and has performed at some large venues.

I've been patrolling the hills, clearing trail and fighting forest fires for quite a while now.

Looperman was a small community back then. Easily digestible.
