Hey Matthias, did you do the vocoder? I have been playing with the free TAL one lately but haven't really produced anything with it yet. Whenever I hear one though I always think of your pioneering countrymen Kraftwork. This is a very cool track though, very well constructed, mixed and produced. Sounds like a great clubbing track. Ciao Chris

Hi Chris.
the most in this this track are loops. I have add only a few keys with a few VST instruments.
I would love to dance to this track in a club ;), great.
Greetings
Matthias

on The Void Between Us by BullittVolante
Hi there, nice work on the track. I like the variations you introduce as the track progresses. Some pretty wicked drum breaks in there and some fine synth work. Personally, I would maybe have broken it down somewhere along the line, maybe dropped a whole lot of stuff out perhaps, then build it back up again. But then I tend to minimalism often. Either way, it is a treat to have stereo hearing again after being deaf in one ear for the last couple of weeks!! Cheers Zoot.

Hi Zoot, thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Yes, in hindsight I probably could have added a drop out and a build up to the track. I do tend to keep things to a minimum sometimes. It's always good to know what people think, especially when you produce music alone. I always appreciate feedback. Thanks again.

Hey man, what a treat to see something from you again. I like all these ideas but for me I like the picked guitar after the intro. If the beat was more syncopated it would sound like Fela Kuti! The organ is cool too. All the best Zoot

I liked the original and other Spearcarrier tracks, but you guys did a great job of this. I only have one ear working at the moment (thanks to a surfing incident) and it still sounds good!

P.s I have a 30 yr old Ibanez solid top acoustic but it doesn't sound like this, which I put down to the player not the instrument lol.

Hello Zootman, I think that Ibanez might respond a little better with some new strings and maybe even a pedal to keep it company.....just a thought my brother.

Interesting and a bit different. I liked it overall as a semi ambient, atmospheric piece that made me lean in and listen. Quietly intense. However I have to say I found the 'ding dings' a little over present and distracting eventually through the later part of the track before that gamelan or bell type sound comes in. Cool track tho. Cheers Zoot.

Nice build, cool percussion, I enjoyed this just as it is but then I tend toward minimalism. I'm sure someone will jump on it though. Cheers Zoot.

Nice work for a couple of wasters. Wataya's stoned instincts were spot on, even if he was being ironic?!

Coolio. Great tone and lead work. And let's not forget the excellent rhythm guitar too. I liked the build before you really crack into it. Had to listen a couple of times, coulda done more.

Yeah this is cool man. Trippy funk styles. You on the mic? To me maybe, it needs a little more low end on the bass or drums. Just a bit more drive. But what do I know? Still digging it. Nice ending. Cheers Chris.
StratOli
StratOli replied 5th Apr 2025 - 1 year ago
Thank you Chris, oh no you don't want me to be on the mic! yes probably I should increase the low end parts next time especially for this style. Thanks for the useful tips.

Beautifully done. Cool lyrics and I say again, I love the timbre of your voice. Ha, predictive text tried to change timbre to timber... That would have been weird lol.

Hey Chris
Thank you so much.
I needed to translate the meaning of Timbre and timber so lets keep it timbre lol
But you know it can be timber...i love parfume with a timber smell (and neroli )so if my voice sounds a little like that its also ok

Hello and thank you for your nice words. It is always a pleasure to know you liked my music. It is so difficult to me to make music of a specific genre. Almost impossible. Obviously one has to dive deep into a genre as a listener and creator, something that I haven't done. I am mostly a listener of jazz (which I cannot play since my lack of knowledge), and blues and rock (mostly during the old days). Lots of classical music as well. Of course I have listened to various other genres and I love those exceptional cinematic tracks or of ambient orientation but, there is a lot of rap and trap in my life too, due to my son. It was always a pleasure of mine to spot CDs of rather unknown artists so I have listened to many attempts of pop for example artists. I like listening to music of the world, there are so many fascinating instrument players and singers of untold listening beauty. Anyhow, it is a very good feeling when my creations do produce some "vibes" to the listener. Thanks for the opportunity to write some things back, it is something I really like about LM's community.
My best wishes, Anthony
