nice switch up from rnb to dance at the beginning. the vox are a treat, retro but contained — i was half expecting it to get really emotive, so the minimalist closing was a cool twist. your arrangement makes the most of the brief run-time. i’m diggin it!
Thanks, Stokes! The minimalistic closing may be temporary. I'm going to up the dance factor on this and make it a bit more catchy when I get some more time.
hi Micky, love how you back up the glossy surface with ingenious interlocking parts that fuckin jump and that tasty gtr. you use your voice to great effect — always wondered, do you use any processing or is that your natural falsetto?
Hi Michael, yes this is my natural falsetto. Some also know me as Klaus Nomi... LOL. Thank you for listening and your flattering comment. Cheers, Micky
Julio, good to hear you! i love the track as a whole, it’s a big-ass sound, beautifully designed and played with fire. i dig the vox a lot, like to thimk i woulda easily caught on that it’s a robot, but even tho you gave it away i was surprised by the sound. there’s some uncanny valley stuff happening in the phrasing that is way cool.
hello T. the background music gives you a nice range to explore, though you are always in the zone. i love when a player makes it sound like playing is a breeze, it’s that pleasure makes you just nod and smile all the way through. always a delightful trip, bud!
Thank you x, for the stop by always. I can tell you really listen to music when you listen. The background music is the blue print when I do this kind of Smooth Jazz. It gives me room to stretch out and create more feeling for the listener. Your ears are on point. thanks again. PEACE. T576 OUT.
i hear that bumblebee scream, all right. beautiful tones abound. what a fine tune, sad but thrilling like the scent of her perfume.
i’m scraping a few bucks together for a ‘new’ used guitar and you’ve become a big influencer for les with yer delivery on this!
great hearing you, Wayne!
I never write the words out before I start singing, I just get an idea for the lyrics, hit the red button and start singing. Sometimes lines like "i heard a bumble bee scream" come out of nowhere. I don't know what it means but i liked it and left it in, he.
Good luck on your guitar safari. I paid $650 at Sweetwater for my Epiphone "inspired by Gibson" 60's Les Paul Standard which I think is a steal for these gems. Gibson has had some rough times lately and putting out an Epiphone that's pretty darn close to their Gibson line will get people, like me who doesn't want to pay 3 grand for a Gibby, to buy them. Plus all the vids on yt are nothing but praise for these. Keep me updated on your new git.
Hullo Paul, it’s an hour before sunup here, but you’ve already brought the true light of day to me with this lovely tune. you and Matthias express a sadness i think most of we the living have to bear, and in articulating it make it a less lonely burden. you always connect, mate. hope things are all well brother.
cheers for the listen Mike, unexpected loss is something that you never really get over, tragic loss always leaves questions, bottling it up is the worst thing tho, be open it is less of a burden, others become more open then, yes of course you have to move on, you carry the scars, be proud of them , dont hide
hey Ian, i love this mystical, searching vibe. the lyrics fit the insistent rhythm— ace job on the drumming, the vox sampling, grooving bass, all the intricate motion. the dubby touches in the production really enhance the atmosphere. i really admire how much you are doing with these sounds and how uncluttered the result is. guitar has a touch of knopfler that lends itself very well, it provides a nice balance to the music. really graceful tune, my friend!
crazy, man. fantastic intro left me set up perfectly for the lead what next led to dervish heaven, a breath, then blissy reprise. 3 mins of psychic expanse. much more better than one of elon’s orbital offerings! another super-tight and lifted track. peace, space-Jynx!
I wanted to call this track a name you gave me to use as a genre a couple of years ago but I wasn't sure I remembered it correctly and I didn't want to mis-quote you. I think you called it
"PsychotronicArtFunk"...
Thank you for your listen and Fave.
Your discriptions make me wonder if you're talking about another track.
You have always given me great encouragement from day one here on LM.
hello Michael. i like the tempo and gtr parts a lot, and of course Diego sounds great. i think it would be really nice to hear some backing vox to bring out the full sound you’re aiming for. you guys are always a good listen!
Hey Michael, you're right to add vocals on the track but it's planned, Diego wants to do about thirty songs and select 8/9 that we will refine! only problem,,, I don't have much time to devote to it! we will do what we can! Thanks again for listening my friend!
Michael
oh yeah, there’s prince paul and then there’s dimestop the king. i love the duality of it all, and there’s lots to love here. six minutes and yez never spills a drop! a fitting number for your coronation — that king with the secret ointment is dead, long live the real king.
it’s so good to hear you in top form, brother.
haha, thanks Mike, i put a weeks work into this, well the mix. getting it just right, but i enjoyed it, i wrote it in an hour the week before the kings coronation, dropped it on the day
ive still made a few tightening tweaks after the upload too, im now happy with it. on to the next bro
Hey Steven, thanks for sharing this music, mate. It’s a lovely, stirring piece and reading along this page while listening brings lots of feelings that are never really far below the surface.
Sharing in the midst of such an intensely personal and transformative experience is a healthy reflex, and you and your family are in the thoughts of many.
Stay true to the beauty that remains, my friend.
hey, bud. i’m catching onto your style and really enjoying the listen. get settled in and be prepared to groove. i love the slight grit in the delivery, honestly i have to strain to hear it. playing is top notch— fluid and gathering narrative detail. cool, my friend.
Thank you x, your choice of words is exactly how I try to execute my style of guitar playing. I didn't automate the guitar track, so your ears didn't lie to you. Also no mastering on this track. Will upload the polished version soon. Thanks again for the stop by. I was in the prosses of listening to one of your tracks and had to cut it short to get to work. Didn't get a chance to comment. Will stop back. PEACE. T576 OUT.
hello Eric! i think you from an organizational and production perspective this is a nice and flowing piece. my complaint is that it sounds like an exercise, just as you alluded to it in the description. i’d love to hear you loosen the genre conventions and jam — then that rolling psytrance bass could be put to a better test. good to see you man!
This is a valid critique of the track, x stokes, and I really appreciate your input. It’s, frankly, a lot more helpful to get constructive criticism than comments that just say, “great track, man” or words to that effect.
Your observation is aiming at an issue that much more fundamental than mere technical issues with the mix, etc. it’s something that I’ve been increasingly aware of, and frustrated with in my music for some time now. Not very inventive.
I’m not sure how to remedy this. I hope it’s not because I’m just too old to be creative.:(
oh shit! peripatetic punk! this is crazy good, ah the lead is some guitaring man. RIP t verlane. i know the singer, he blew town to get off the wagon. a heartwrenching tale of a sleazebag, so i guess it came down to country or surf — i’m riding wave with all the shit i own in a cardboard box. seriously delirious stuff and there can’t be enough of it!
Now here is somebody who understands what I am trying to do here. You've been keen to my musical intentions over the past years, I can't fool you. ha!
I had the guitar sound and how I wanted to play it in my head for a week before I even started the song or picked up the guitar. Then it went together like it wrote itself.
always look forward to the poetry when i visit with you. holy shit the verse is kinetic on its own and you bring it to furious groovy life. i love the additional vox — you are propulsive as hell, and the music track is fantastic i need to check out Yahwelle!
