i’ve got this under my skin, mate. beautifully damaged, groovy as hell. really intriguing gtrs + electronics roomy but accumulating steam, awesome stuff happening by the 3.00 mark. the selection and placement of vox is extrasensory. weird, seething voodoo. cha cha cha.
high marks for squiggliness. what a treat. louche lounge smoking allowed near the rhodes and it’s coming outta the flute too. it’s a colorful joint too and btw gravity does not apply in this establishment. i’m the guy clinking the empty bottles at the end — show me the way to go home!
this is wonderful, mate — it’s like your ‘year of the cat’! the aco just slinks right in like a cat into a smoky nightclub seriously looking to hook up without another cat. brassy af. very cool
Hey mate - yeah I like a bit of brass and the nest of rhythm is nice in this one - my guitars run right through but I kinda wish Id made more of that break around 110 - seems to finish a little early when I hear it now : )
ha there’ll be nothing left of the ##### ballroom! this tips over the tables, mate! don’t take any of trump’s phone calls! nice to have you in form, it’s a nice #####-you to start the awards season. cheers!
thanks for the check out Mike, little bit of fun, i was quite happy with the vocal on this one and i stopped taking Donald's calls long ago bro, he wants me to be his new act at Trump Towers, Elon is a pest though, he's stalking me, he wants to collab :))
drone and harmonics beautiful and then it’s mindblowing, my friend. this is an amygdala hijack. i’m getting 30 mins of total bliss before sunrise. inspired. btw i covered that swinging speaker bit, alvin lucier i think it was. i love 50s 60s ‘classical’ bonkers stuff. man oh man this is great
Damn you did it again, used words I had to google (and I pride myself on my vocabulary, though you might not know it on here since I'm usually tapping on my phone when I reply to comments). I just had a look at Avin Lucier too, pretty interesting eh. I quite like the scientificness of what he was doing. Don't think scientificness is a word.
far out and deeply felt. outro really works. the sound is tremendous i love the spacy reel of the first part and the sweep that follows. brilliant stuff man!
cool electronics and really nice work on the structure and flow of the track. i thought you might go full dubstep for a moment in the beginning! a well-wrought depiction of your meteor
really messed up molten core running below the dry metals and drumbeat, until the meltdown occurs. one of the best wavforms i’ve seen in ages! dreadful and pretty lovely soundscaping, DOOM!
hello, Elaine! BB has lots of sound commentary, but i think this belongs to a pretty well-developed school of funk/rnb/blues that jams the ##### out of that one chord progression. like at 1.25 where this reaches its stride. true to yr description this is a positive vibe and it’s awful nice to see ya.
fantastically packed with strange codes and dislocations, i am really moved by the track. the title certainly shaped my approach to the music and for the better i think. it’s cool that you provided that kind of guidance. ace track!
well the description caught my eye, i can get behind that. damn i like this lots. really original sounds esp after the 1.00 mark and plenty of gnarl along with the positive vibe.
Thank you. This track just popped into my head as I was staring out the window realized we've all got angels helping us along with the good things in life.
ha, i’m gonna be late for today! this is why taking large amounts of rytalin is something i need help avoiding. gets the heart beating pretty fast. and you can never be fast enough when there’s no time. it’s dilemma with a beat.
Thank you for listening and the nice comment. My beacon is constantly burning and I'm sure he's keeping an eye on it at all times... But at the moment it's really lonely out here... sniff. Thank goodness my supplies of soma are full...
it’s odd i don’t have an earlier comment here cuz i remember my elation at hearing Tutu articulate the rage i have with people who claim not to take sides in struggles taking place everywhere on earth on so many levels i wonder if anything is untouched sometimes. Tutu’s words make me feel grounded and deepen my humanism. your setting makes me feel embolded to remain plugged in, if for nothing else to bear my own witness and carry that into the struggle at my level. if that makes any sense. i’ll just point people in the direction of track for a more powerful elucidation! ace work, this is impactful music.
You make perfect sense my friend as always. I guess I was being slightly ingenuous with the description, since Tutu's words actually are a call to arms! I spent about 6 months working with Palestinians on the West Bank in the early 90's, on a date plantation and picking flowers among other things. And I think my kiwi sense of equality, egalitarianism and support of the underdog meant I had a lot of sympathy for the Palestinians. They are a warm and very hospitable people. But what future is there for them under the current regime? People talk of the two state solution but Israel has effectively sabotaged any hope of that with their illegal settlements in the West Bank. Anyway, I could go on. Cheers Zoot.
i love cinematic or serial compositions, and this is a really fine theme, real stately but hella edgy too.
modern chamber music was always a big attraction too, and your orchestration/arrangement is finely wrought. and bro the sound is definitely ##### cinematic. 5 stars.
