I'm very amused that you sampled in "Gunny" to your track. It arises all kinds of ideas in my head - thank you. In this wondrous age of technical/music creation and production, the conventional walls of olde are being torn down ( I'm from that other time bty - when you wanted to create music, you had to bang other musicians over the head to do what you wanted - or at least bring in a 2-4 case of beer). I enjoyed your track by the way. Keep at it and have fun.
I'm new here, I've listened to some of your creations...err..uhmm..how I can I put this lightly ...Holy Jesus F-----g Christ !!!!! Outstanding, a departure from your other stuff, which is .... err.. how can I put this.. ( please see earlier "Holy... etc ).
I started playing in the late 60's but gave it up after about 10 years or so, snce then once in a while popping my head up every now and then ( once with bagpipes - don't judge now my lad - we all had our dark moments ). Anyhow, Thank you for showing some of these young punks what us older cats can do. Now, if you will excuse me, it's time for me to forget something really important and...Oh look !!! nap time.
Hi there BCway,
Don't recall a review from you before, so I am glad I triggered something so that you'd write me one here.
I am thrilled you enjoyed this tune. I did it in 3 parts only because I was working on these 3 for a time and decided to bunch them together is all. I try and get a tune out once a month.
I see your up there in years as well and that is good that your still making music in one form or another. (Real or loop based)
The bagpipes you mention, I actually love the sound of them and thought they really sounded so unique. However, my interest in them never got me to buy any. Don't even know what they would cost?
I have a setting on my Korg M-3 for bagpipes, but it isn't that good actually. So maybe one of these days I'll put together a Celtic/Irish/Scottish type of tune and send it out. I already have some ideas that you'd probably like to hear. Myself, I guess I am English with a bit of everything else thrown in...so my grandmother says...like a stray dog.
So again, thanks a lot for your review and am also happy to hear that you have checked out some of my earlier tunes.

Yea, I liked this a lot, especially as it progressed. For a moment I was concerned about my sound card/speakers until I saw your reply on the other review. Anyhow you've got good stuff.
Hey there. There is great character in your vocals. I've played professionally with many vocalists. Since they had to sing for 3 hours a night ( not steady, there were breaks ), anywhere from 3 to 6 nights a week, they had developed a vocal strength - ie singing from the diaphram to help them last and still be able to talk the next day. I fear that if you did this, it may modify your singing style *** you must not change your style !!!!!
Tsk ! Who played base ? Did they use a pick - I'm sure I could hear a pick, [sigh], I am not a fan of the base pick. I know I know I'm mister picky ( pun intended ) Now, more that ever, I must pick up some hardware so I can plug in my base to lay done tracks and loops, proper like - I would love to add a base line to your tune - which I fav'd. You are a songwriter and it would not be a great leap for you to go pro - your tons better that the drek that is spoon fed us by those so call DJ's or VJ's.
This is so different - I think it is terrific, combining a folksy flutely thingy with a "in your face" techno(electronic ?) sounds. I'm a big fan of diversity done right - which you accomplished with flying colors.
Well done. I would not change anything. I've had relatives that were in both wars ( Victoria Rifles, RCN, RCAF, RAF ). If they were alive, they would be pleased that they were honored by the present generation with such a moving piece.
I do not know if I like it or not, but I did listen to all of it. Only one thing I can say, and that is true art is to go beyond the normal - dude, not only did you go beyond, you defied gravity and gave the bird to those of us left behind. Don't stop, ok .Later
>:-D Even if managing to listen to it's entirety was all I'd be very grateful[I know it's painful to do], but what you said really made me grin! If I had to choose, I'd rather people consider what I do to be "art" than "good". I'm currently aiming for both, of course, but we'll see where it goes.
I was smiling throughout the whole track. I worked in a techno/office environment for 20 years, oddly your tune did not remind me of the horrors witnessed and experienced. Your track gave me some ideas - may I borrow it ? I promise to be gentle with it.
I'm still smiling, and that's something I needed today. Thank you.
