That sounds like your own vocals! That's good! You clearly have a great voice.
The actual recording and production can be improved maybe but I still commend you for doing you own thing!
I totally recognise what you said to Dennel about the brass - it always sucks. In a recent track I decided to simply lean into the fake brass sound knowing I couldn't get it right anyway - I spent an evening some time ago trying to find decent brass sounds and it was frustrating and the plugin crashed my PC and HOLY CRAP JUST GIVE ME THAT TRUMPET ILL DO IT MYSELF ;)
Yeah ok no. But I think you did the right thing here. They sound fine, it's clearly a synth, but it's also a clear reference to brass and that works.
Thanks for the kind words. I think you get used to it, but next time I'll take loops/samples from real horns and try to bend them where I want them. Yep.
Cheers,
Micky
This is really promising, but I also think you can make it even better.
The intro is quite long; that's not so terrible but then I also want a longer payoff.
Also there are some interesting dissonants - maybe intended, but some of them didn't play well in my mind.
In any case, you're really talented and I'm sure you can develop this one further and make it as amazing as today's track!
I seem to have a problem with long intros so ill be more careful with that when/if i work on this again. If your willing would you please point out some key areas with dissonance, thank you very much for the feed back!
Absolutely excellent. I love when an instrumental track has a strong story behind it and everything fits here. Excellent keyboard work, excellent soundscape.
I'm a fan! Fav'ed!
Hello Baobou, nice to hear from you again. It's really like this: At first I only had a single sound that suggested an absolutely icy landscape. I based it all on that and just made sure to stay in style. I'm really glad you liked the track. Thanks for the Fav. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Micky
tell me Bou, the least likeliest collab, i had it wrote in 25 mins 5 plays back to back, i wanted it jealously, thankfully Danke obliged. it had to be my best effort and i don't think i let his music down, he faved it too :))
Thank you Soooo Much! We work hard and are completely independent! Everything you here from AllChemical is 100% homegrown.. Much Love and appreciation to you and God Bless!
What a lovely keys melody and wonderful quiet accompanying chords, then drums... Just a great track overall. Lovely transition at 0:57 and 2:24 is also a great moment.
Super, you made my Monday morning!
This is great and brave! I grew up with only classical music (my parents didn't like any pop music besides a bit of Simon and Garfunkel) so I totally get where this is coming from. A bit of Bach, a bit of Strawinsky and a lot of T576. Well done you!
Definitely has promise! The "I got it" samples is a good one.
Maybe try to add a Looperman acapella to it to see what works and where it might need a bit of work?
I love love love Narnia. Read all the books multiple times as a kid, especially the first ones and also really enjoyed the first 2 movies (I think I would also enjoy the rest but life's too short for sequels).
This track is very cool. It doesn't immediately say Narnia to me, but there are definitely gentle breezes, and I love the atmosphere!
Really good track my friend! As you commented on mine, this is not something I usually listen to, but I totally enjoyed it start to finished and it really kept my attention. Great job!
Those drums are just delicious and work so well woth the guitar. Some fantastic effects too.
Do you know who "Black Peter" (Zwarte Piet") is in Dutch culture? (you might be unpleasantly surprised btw).
Thanks Baobou, I was pleased with the drums too. I looked up Black Peter - yes, one of those cultural things (like golliwogs I guess) that were acceptable at one point in time, but less so now days. Cheers from Down Under.
Gaining more confidence in my singing, absolutely. Been working hard at developing my delivery, grit and attitude. It's like performing, you gotta sell the track. Some people have this naturally, not me. I'm a bass player not a front man. Having fun with it.
That's excellent! Really nice groove, and I think you used the vocal a bit different from what they had expected (the key is a bit different) but that works really well.
