Well Mr. Johnson this is a real nice piece of music to listen to.
When they were handing out the talent you certainly were'nt at the back of the queue....... Only ten minutes well that is something...........Excellent stuff...........dylanthermos.
PS. Hope your not so quick in the bedroom department.....lol.
Not into Rap but the sounds on this are first class.Drums, synths and production make it sound fine.
I like this sound not sure about the accapelas because I prefer a good live vocal.
This is very easy on the ear and it simmers like an ember in hell........You didn't say where you were across the pond?........lets hear more like these.......dylanthermos.
Hi Spivkurl, Synth intro very 80's sounding to my ear.Vocals could do with some treatment to beef em up a bit. Needs another segment to keep the listener interested.Solo is unusual waspy sort of sounding but quite different.
The synth playing seems very competent.
The end sounds like a party of frogs at the side of a frog pond which is certainly unique.......Not something I would usualy listen to but glad I did for the experience.......Keep on writing.........dylanthermos.
I was going for a very raw sound on the vocals, but I see what you mean. I really have been needing to make short songs lately, hence the lack of another segment. A party of frogs, interesting take on the outro. Thanks for going out of your way to review!
Kawaii, is not really my type of music but I have a very open mind and so I'll listen all the way through.
It's very danceable if you were in a club. The synth sounds are first class and very much of this era.Drums are up front and makes the track charge along.
If you could get a vocal line that gave the tune a meaning it would improve it no end at present it is a bit repetitive but this would dissapear with a vox or another section.
Indeed this could be an outstanding track with more work.
Keep up the good work............just going to get some amphetamines..lol........dylanthermos.
The real problem with my producing is that I make my songs in couple of hours... never finishing songs completely...
Now I'm trying to improve my patience while working with FL studio ..
about vocals,
many have said this :) that I have to get vocals in my songs to make them sound better...
the only problem is, that I can't find solist for my songs..
and my own voice ain't so good, to be added as vocal in songs..
Randall, I just loved the sound on your slide guitar is it a telecaster? I ask you, certainly sounds like one.
Some great playing what amp you using or is it direct into the desk?
I play slide but not as good as this.
I'm gonna listen again cos it was right up my street.
There don't seem to be many guitar players on here which is a pity......nevermind.........loved it.....keep em coming..........Dylanthermos.(Wales)
I appreciate you coming by and listening to one of my few Blues tunes. I believe on this one I used my Strat mostly. Being tuned to an open 'C', makes it sound a lot different.
On a couple of my other Blues tunes, I used my Tele. Sometimes I switch around during a tune just to give a song a different 'color'.
I always go in direct so as not to get amp hum and by using the many software RTAS or VST's I have.
One my very first Blues song which is slow like this one, I am using an acoustic guitar with that has a 3 band graphic built into the LACE pickup. That one is a Mitchel guitar.
I also own a Resonator (Dobro) guitar that I use and you can hear that sound easily as it is quite different sounding than any other guitar. That is in some Blues and country songs I have up too.
Hi Trueman,
I think the track sounds very good but IMHO the vocal treatment is not to my taste.
Sounds like this cat has a fine voice so why hide it with a vocal effect that he probably does'nt need.
I hope I don't offend you by saying that it's just my opinion which means nothing when it comes down to it.It's your song.
Would have liked to have heard more.........dylanthermos...(Wales)
hi mate, thanks for your review, unfortunatley the voice came with so many effects already added it was difficult to make it fit in as the top end was already distorted which is a shame as his voice is great. thanks
Hi Dale, This is very pleasant to listen to.
Accomplished guitar playing with tight harmonies.
Sound is a bit mushy obviously because it is taken from an old cassette but remarkable considering.
Your voice is better than a lot I've heard so no worries there.
This guitar player sounds like Gary Moore a bit well the same type of sound, distorted and delay.
Great song get rec ording a new version with new gear and it would be top notch........well done.......dylanthermos(Wales)
I reviewed a track of yours earlier. This is very sixties as you say.
Go on go for it add some vocals you can do it i heard you sing before and it was very good.
Could be a Beatles/Hollies type song.......for sure.........dylanthermos
I met Madness once when they were gigging in Wales. They were staying in the hotel where we were gigging. When they came back from their gig they stayed up and watched us playing. The guitarist was well impressed as i remember at the time.
I told them my kids were big fans so they said bring them over in the morning and they had pics autographs etc. they were real good guys.
This is a great tribute to those old ska sounds from way back.
Deffo Two Tone sounds makes me feel like rolling a fat one.....lol....
Sax sounds just right, lots of layers of vocals drums sound fine except the toms they sound a bit slack, if thats the right word.Thats my only and very minor criticism.
Otherwise a fine danceable track and very pro sounding, radio fodder if ever I heard it...................Dylan Thermos.
The guitar is well recorded. it does sound very Spanish I was about to order my paella and a jug of sangria.
Get some castinets and some heeled boots and add the dance sounds and you will transport people to Seville instantly.
Well done......Dylan Thermos. (Wales)
My honest opinion is that your song could be a very good song.
The intro before the drums come in is a bit too long.
The chord structure possibly could be embelished.
It sounds very repetitive and needs more segments to keep the listener interested.
Now for good stuff the overall sound is very good, drums sound bright and very life like. Synth sounds are interesting, delay timings fit the feel.
In fact it's quite a moody little piece on second listening.....this track needs work but you can do it and then it will be brilliant........Hope I have'nt offended you in anyway was trying to be honest in a nice way.........Dylan.
