on Show Me What Love Is-SpellJammer feat Slap Johnson by AllenV
Oh my. This is it. Yeah.. Judging from the genre it would not really be my first pick to listen to, but d@mn I'm glad I did. The delays and effects are superbly balanced, the clean, crisp tones are just amazing. Makes me lean way back in my chair, close my eyes, and really, really enjoy this (way beyond) excellent masterpiece of a track. I'm just.. wow. It took my breath away. I have no words.

Thank you very much Steinaa.I agree that genres can get in the way of some good songs and I know I've missed some great tunes myself because of that fact.
This was such a group effort.I am always pleased to start with a well crafted melody from SpellJammer, complete with all keys and percussion and his quality out the gate is fantastic so a lot of work has been done right there.I do spend long days layering in guitars around him and more time mixing,to me that's the key and eats a lot of time but I haven't found a way around it...Fun yet work, with a payoff and Slap Johnsons sax really completed the feel we were shooting for.Nothing is scripted here so these songs from Spell and I take some time to complete...we can't push em out very fast and they remain very much inspired, they inspire me to do more and I hope they do for you.
No lie my friend...I have both versions of your song Remember Me on my mp3 playlist at home...it moves me every time!
Thanks again,

Allen

You have some great tones and riffs, but the rythmguitars are abit low. And see if you can find Addictive Drums anywhere, EZDrummer sounds abit.. plain and.. well, not good. I really loved the drumpattern though. Seems like you put some effort into that. I like it. Sound- and riff-wise it sounds like Killswitch Engage at the beginning, and the leads sounds abit like Avenged Sevenfold. Me likey. Keep it up :)

Somehow reminds me of that Flipsyde-song named Happy Birthday, and I love that song. Impressive..!

This has some great transitions, and I agree with Kikajon on the voice. I really like it. You have some serious screams going on. But the mix itself sounds abit muddy, and the vocals sometimes 'drown' abit in there. But good job on the melodies and progressions man. Looking forward to hear more from you :)

This is such a major masterpiece. It deserves a whole lot more than only 4 favs.. Man.. You blew my mind with this one. Excellent work on those guitar-riffs and you created this image of this scenario spotless. Nothing else to say. Rock solid. And my apologies for my backout on the colab we tried to make by the way.
It could have been a great song.. Would love to do it again, but I've lost all my old files. You wouldnt - by any chance - have it somewhere..?

Anyway - stunning track.
You're one of the best artists on the site man.

Steinaa, thanks for the review and your kind words. I've been dealing with a lot so I have not been making music as much as I would like. Your words of encouragement came at just the right time during a difficult time. Thank you. I believe I may still have the files of the collab- I will send it your way. No need to apologize. As I well know, life happens. Thanks again for honoring me with your words. As always, it means a lot coming from an artist whom I admire so much. Kper

on Monotaneous by Valences
When the piano came in, I was hooked. Somehow it reminds me of Robert Miles' sound in his track 'Children'.
The only thing I have to say is that the guitars are maybe a tiny bit low..? Or maybe its my ears..

Anyway - This was a great listen.
More of this!

Hey Allen.
This sounds like a great jamsession. Really easy, but funky riffs with a dirty sound. Cool, laidback drumloop from 9Rihter aswell.

Thank you so much Steinaa! You know how as a guitarist the things you have the most fun playing without giving much thought can sometimes translate to listeners,I do think people can tell when your having a good time, even if they can't see you.
Thanks for the review,I am a big fan of your music so it means a lot!

This was awesome bud. Although you didnt do much singing tbh. I agree with BrokenScythe and DjCufool on the rap-thing. Should be replaced.. You and Farisha should make a track, your voices are a perfect match..

Yeah. This is it. The perfect tempo for the riffs and a clear and outstanding chorus. Sounds like a female version of Bowling For Soup - take that as a compliment!
Great job both by you and Christopher.

Great flow on this one, simple, yet alot of groove on the drums. Fun to see that some people actually spend some time doing those parts, and it really pays off.
The piano is so amazing both when it comes to melodies and the sound itself.
Overall mixdown is perfect.

Yeah. This is it. Spot on.
Have you guys ever thought about doing an acoustic piece? Would very much like to hear something softer with that vocalist. Clearly, he knows how to sing clean. Not that he's bad at the screaming parts, but look at it more as a personal request/wish.
Awesome job on this track though..! Kudos

Hey Spyder :)
At first, I gotta say that country aint my style at all, but this track got me at the first note. It was really something funky about this - loved the simplicity of the groove. And a question.. Why dont you invest in a real mic? It seems you have some talent when it comes to adding vocals.
Looking forward to hear more from you buddy.
Have a great day..!

Glad you enjoyed the track, bro. Country ain't really my thing either, but I try to sharpen my skills by composing in various genres.

Yeah, I need a mic badly, but I live way out in the country, and there isn't any place out here that sells mics (believe me, I've looked). So, until I have an opportunity to go into the city (St. Louis), I'll just have to work with what I've got.

Thanks for the listen and review, bro.

Peace,

Spyder

Some heavy rythmguitars earlier would be awesome on this. Although the track itself as it is, is great. The guitar might be a bit loud compared to the rest of the mix at times, but still a fast-paced and driving track that makes you sit and listen in excitement of whats coming up next.
Well done jjy.

I do feel that the metalgenre on the site has gone through a renaissance. You, among a few others have made me think this way.
Obviously you have been playing for awhile and know what you're doing. No more smalltalk - this was great. Timing, 10/10 - riffs 10/10, and the sound I'll give 8/10. What mainly drags it down from 10 is the background noise and a 'thin' overall sound. Not trying to be mean or anything - just sharing my honest and humble opinion. But give the site more of this man - its great..!

Yeah, I hear the same quality of sound on your tracks, It's due to the MP3. All my music is recorded in high quality sound but when you convert and upload mp3 on these sites it just takes the bite right out of it..Thanks again for checking it out!! I'll be posting on your tracks, they sound killer!!

One of the things I like about your songs, is that you have your own sound. Its great to listen to artists in the site that dares to create their own, unique sound to their music. I really enjoy that leadguitar here. Its not really a fastpaced track, but still, it has that 'drive' to it - that just lets it keep on going without making it boring at any moment.
Again I gotta say that I love your sound, and you stand out as a very creative guitarist with those riffs of yours. The progression of the lead couldnt have been better to this song. Everything flows in such a great way that I caught myself craving more when the song was over. The mixing is 10/10. Can tell you've been doing this for a while. Can't wait to hear another rock track from you mate..!

I see myself more as a producer and songwriter, and I'm a pretty solid rhythm guitarist, I always had brilliant solo players in my bands, so there was no need to do that ... I guess my real strength is my timing, I practiced many years with a drummer, that made my playing pretty tight ...
thx for all your reviews!!! very appreciated ...

By now - I've heard two of your songs. But you're approaching the title as lead composer/player on the site within the Rock genre. That's my humble but honest opinion. The riffs you're cracking out are so simple, but yet they are optimized within the frames of what the chords and rythm allow you to do.
Yet another superb track, and another applause from me.
Simply brilliant.
