on Say goodnight - Instrumental by stianh182
This intro is so intriguing.. And when the guitars kick in - total annihilation man. Awesomeness to the max. Some of the brasses are abit too high in the mix. And the rythmguitars are a tiiiny bit too high in the 'chorus' in my opinion, since you cant hear much of the spiccato-strings that really pushes the song.
But seriously man - a major tune - instant fav.
Nailed it.
Rock solid.

What a lovely track! The way the instruments enhance each other and cooperate is mindblowing. Caught myself nodding my head to the rythm here. When it comes to the song as a whole, I really think it tells a story about people who loves to play their instrument, and the perfection of this track reflects it. It really got me in a better mood. Thank you!

To me, this riffing sounds like something Killswitch Engage'ish. Pretty solid. Especially love the drums when they kick in at 0:16 - bloody awesome mate. Good to see that there's more people that put some effort into doing the drums. They really enhance the simplified, yet brutally effective riffs.
Plenty of kudos to you on this one.

Great intro and sound, along with awesome drums and a raw solo. Somehow reminds me of Pantera. The breakdown at 2:38 couldnt have been better.
Superb job on this one ReapHavok - applause.

on Relativity by guitarjock
Hey Guitarjock.
One of the better songs I've heard in the metal-genre in awhile. Really like the eerie/dark mood you've set for this one. The sologuitar is fabulous.
One can tell by your playing that you've been doing this for some time - very intriguing and fascinating progressions and combinations in this one. I really wish it was longer, although its over 4 and a half minute. Great job on this one. Oldschool metal > all.
An applaud is at its place. Outstanding.

And btw - hit me up if you're interested in making a tune together.

Thanks man. I am glad you like it. It's one of my favorites. I have been working on getting more into odd time signatures and some more jazzy-sounding metal like Dream Theater. I was finally able to write a song with an odd time signature called Deception. The basic parts of the song are complete, but I would like to add another part that maybe jams back and forth between guitars and keys. Check it out if you get a chance and let me know what you think. I am interested in working on a song with you. You write some really great sounding songs and you are one of my favorite musicians on the site. If we do get the chance to work on something together, it may take me a bit as I am busy as hell with work and trying to finish college before I retire from the USAF next year. But who am I kidding, I am hooked on recording and I am sure I will find the time. Let me know if your still interested and if you have anything in mind to work on already. Thanks again for the review.

I gotta admit you have an amazing touch with intros, transmissions and making a song evolve slowly without making it sound boring in any way. The electronic sounds are something that you fit into every song you produce, and it blends with perfection every single time. Great buildup, and lovely progressions.
You are evolving greatly as a musician Kper.

on ReleaZe - Metal Remix by Mund
Already from the first palm muting - I can tell this is a guitarist who knows what he's doing. Along with an awesomely done production, this is truly a joy ride musically.
Give me more of this music and production please. The metal-genre always needs more skilled people like this.
Fabulous work.
Standing applauds.

Thanks for your nice compliment Steinaa, I'll transmit it to the guitarist Greg Cerneau!...hoping that he will put more of his tunes here :) We're still working on the last track of the album...something less heavy maybe, but filled with a dark mood.

Somehow a different kind of song - but its clearly a little masterpiece. Love the sound of the guitars - fits like a condom.
More tracks like these, hopefully with vocals..!

Hello there Steinaa,

Thanks for reviewing the second tune I made with using loops and Pro Tools software which was a learn as you go experience.
Most of my tunes have a combo of loops and my playing abilities within them, as I can play 6 different instruments. I try and not copy any particular artist and therefore don't listen to a lot of music as most people probably do.
(I work a lot of hours)

My fav. music is country 'chicken pickin' style which I am putting out a couple tunes before the end of the year. Just love that Telecaster twang!

So I am glad you liked it...however my later tunes are much better.
I would recommend 'Heavy Metal Highway' if your into metal at all. That one is a fav. by everyone.
And no...sadly, I don't have a good voice so I don't sing myself. A few here have put words to my songs and some have done well and put them on their own web site, giving credit to me as the author. I will review some of your songs in another week as I am at work and doing 12 hour night shifts till then, including 12 hours on Christmas.

Later....and thanks again for your review.

Alright - here goes, will try to write as I listen.
The intro is so intriguing that my mind melts of curiosity. The riff coming after is totally badass..!
The only thing here is I feel that I'm waiting for a climax that never comes.. Oh - there it was. Awesome man.. Perhaps more drum-action when the climax arrives? But seriously - this one was great - make more of these :)

Hey Kper. Interesting and creative. The part which starts at 1:21 kinda reminds me of something Kovenant-ish instrumental-wise. (Take that as a great compliment btw.)
Your tracks are always a pleasure to listen to, and I always look forward to the next one.
When it comes to our colab, stage 4 is coming to an end, and will be mailed to you within a few days.
Again, an awesome track Kper - keep doing your thing.
It rocks.

Thanks as always for your support, Steinaa. No worries on stage 4- I know you probably have your hands full with lots of projects. It's been great to collaborate with you and stretch my skills by being stretched by yours. I appreciate the compliments- I value them a lot. Kper

on Recollect by Davytryhard
Hey again Davy.
I must say that its been awhile since I've heard such an interesting intro. I really like this attempt on fantasy metal.
The only things I think could have been better was the volume on the rythm-guitars vs the bass at some parts. And the drums. But then again, I'm pretty picky on drums. Would love to add some new drums to this one if you let me.
Keep this up - I really enjoyed it.
Davytryhard
Davytryhard replied Unknown
Thank you... I glad you enjoyed my track. I am in the middle of trying to master this track but I have little experience mastering tracks so it is proving difficult for me. I would love to hear what you could do for the drums if you still wanted to try. Let me know what you need from my end and Ill send it.

I must say I like the melody of this, but I must agree with Frenchkid that a little variations would have been good on this. Do you mind if I take this and fool around abit with it? Will try to make an orchestral piece out of it if you let me :)

Hey Kper.
I must say that you've done a really great piece of work with this one. The intro is setting the scene and mood of the song in a perfect way. Leading towards guitars with a sound that fits like a condom. The synths and the drums are pretty much flawless.
Instantfav.
I almost feel like I gotta start reading those book you read.
Keep these coming man, totally awesome.

Cheers man. I'm really like "torn between to lovers" these days on what i write. I still love my guitar and metal (although i don't listen to much of it now), but really want to hone my drum n bass productions too. But in saying that, i do have a female vocalist whom i will be catching up with sometime in the next few weeks to finish a screamer of a metal track we had started way back. So who knows.......there may be more to come from me in the metal department.
