JCrews this is full of swinging and swaying goodness. The organ speaks volumes. Love the sax and guitar. You just need to stop with that bossed up bass line! This right here is that business. Great work!
Ok Chris! This is personal. What I just listened to here is a subline, sonic feast of texture and tones. The power plant of the track is definately the solid drum work. I wouldnt attempt to guess which direction this would go in with an collab, but the framework is firmly in place. This is artistry in effect that must be faved even at this early stage. Thanks for sharing the creativity Chris. Peace.
Hi Mark, thanks so much for listening (and the fav!). I have to humbly state that the drums were only slightly edited grooves off of Steven Slate SSD (free version). So I can't take much credit there. I was pleased with the texture/tone etc. of the pads I made though. Those involved at least 6 layers of synth with (gosh) some automation of filters/volume and various saturation/distortion plug ins. Some of the synth stems were run back through guitar rig too. As for the colab, well, what I would love would be for a real drummer to go to town on it with some chill but more evolving percussion. Not much chance of that though...
And this one too! Yahwelle normally I don’t listen to any kind of metal. You’ve done the genre justice from my perspective. You do great work! Keep it up. Peace.
UE! You done did it again. The UE groove is in full effect! The smooth twist and turns are all signature from you. Mini Grand? you throughly tickled those virtual ivorys like a BOSS! I'm totally into those revisited changes that start at about 0:33 and throughout. Then this section at the 2 miniute mark is LETHAL my friend. At 2:20 you went BEAST MODE with that groove! Now I'm gonna have to call the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for the move you did at 2:39! Yep right to your front door! And you cant hide LOL! If you are by any chance looking at palm trees.......I'm sending them there too! THIS IS MAGNIFENCENT! FAVED!
Thanks man. How are you? I always appreciate your detailed comment. I'm so glad you liked this tune. I spent a lot of time with it try to make better music and better mixes. The Piano Plug in I'm loving these days is from AIR Technologies GmbH called Mini Piano. Really simple not alot of options but a real nice sounding responsive piano.
Thanks again man. Peace UE
Paul! Ok! So what we got here is Danke's world-class production with those over the top guitar tones that gave your vocals an excellent foundation for you to express your gift with ease. You know, you are quite the lyricist here. The inspiration you drew is obvious. I can hear you feeling it, and it's no secret. Strong effort mate. Keep 'em coming and flowing. Peace.
thanks for the check out Mark, the track by Danke was exceptional, i really wanted it and tried to put that across in my vocal. maybe the least likeliest collab, but i think the comments prove i done his track justice. you are spot on in your comment about the inspiration, i had it wrote and laid out and i was singing it within an hour of listening to it for the first time, its great when that happens :))
BaoBou. You are quite busy. The opening synth choice is welcoming. When you bring the drums in, the track feels solid. Your vocals here put me in mind of "When you can't see the sun". Now your guitar............FIRE. My advice fill the spaces with guitar in the same vein as 1:47 and 3:23 lead and some nice chords with your vocals. Nice 1 buddy. Your on it. Peace.
Thanks so much Mark! Yeah I'm not done yet with this one, but I have 4-5 more that need my attention, so I had to kick this one out and make some space in my mind. Some of the vocals aren't quite where I want them, and I want to play with the ending.
In general I'm experimenting and trying to get outside my tried and tested guitar/bass/piano/drums/vocals template and discovering some pretty interesting places, I feel. And that also leads to different lyrics.
I'm definitely having fun, and that's all that matters :)
UE! Ok so this is a really great composition. That saturation on the upper HZ of the drum kit is extra crispy. The piano and bells made me a little misty around the old eye balls……..excuse me while I get a Kleenex. Ok UE you’re one bad music making machine. Now for the Purdie shuffle……….. wonderfully executed my friend. My first exposure to the Purdie shuffle was on The Late Great Aretha Franklins Rock Steady. Fast forward to the 80s with Steely Dan. Also I had an Album by the group Hummingbird where Bernard was practically the front man! He was such a beast in that group I wanted to have him arrested for being too funky! Peace!
Thanks Mark! I appreciate you taking the time and your awesome comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. I remember the band "Hummingbird". I'm going to do a refresh listen. Babylon Sisters is one of my favorite shuffle examples. So "LA"! Steve Gadd is another of my fav drummers. Check out his new album, I believe it is live. A tune called "Any Moment Now". The album is a study in minimalism. Thanks again UE
Yahwelle just stop all of this fabulousness! That opening is talking my language. And yes excellent drum mix. The groove is infectious and that Rhodes is delectably executed! You have another nice one here.
Micky! Oh DAW- SMAW LOL. What ever you use, no matter what you lay down. It’s consistently a Time Machine. The first notes and chords took me back to a time and place of very fond memories. This is consistent with your works. Your vocals and the processing you place on them is over the top. Yep trademark Micky. Your synth work along with the synth bass reminds me so much of The System. Great track.
Hey Mark, wonderful that it takes you back to pleasant times. I guess I've fulfilled my mission then. Oh, and I'll gladly accept the compliment of the comparison to The System... I really liked them too. "Promises Can Change" is a bit of a tearjerker, but I still listened to it over and over again. Thanks for listening and the nice review.
Peace,
Micky
