Yo! The contrast between light and dark, between good and bad, is highlighted well. The voice representing the darker side is spooky, its threatening, and its perfect. It represents the conflicts that we as people deal with, the voice (or voices) in our heads. The whole song up until 3 minutes, I picture someone trying to get ready for like a workout or a strenuous task. And at 3 mins, they start the task and just beast thru it with undying strength. Love the ending reverse piano. Keep up the great work. Peace & Blessings.
Very good work. Emotional. Deep. Maybe like a funeral procession, or a song about the times you had with someone. Touching. Spacious. Peace & Blessings.
I like how you gate that transition sound (It happens when you drop the beat or make a change in the arrangement). It sounds like a cymbal but its not a cymbal. But its cool as shit. Very infective. Dance oriented. Crazy drunk type of feel. Keep up the great work. Peace & Blessings.
Sick mash up. You sequenced it very nicely. I've only heard the "I hate you" one time on the radio and heard that Adele song plenty of times. Wouldn't expect this type of sound from the two together but I must admit, it is wicked. Favorite. Keep up the great work. Peace & Blessings.
at 27 seconds, shit just got real. Damn man. You really killed the mix! When it first came on, it made me want to dance. But after 27 seconds, I'm damn near destroying shit. Mosh pit music. This is awesome. Favorite. Keep up the great work.
This is b, e, a, utiful! (In my best Jim Carrey voice). I genuinely love this. Favorite. This is my favorite style of music even though I do primarily urban, classical is what I aspire to produce. And you did so very well, nice production. Sounds like drinks with friends, at a nice casual restaurant. Smiling faces, good food, pleasantries. Peace & Blessings.
Thank you for generous comment. It's worth trying to challenge in the form of string quartet with violin 1st, 2nd, viola, cello, even if the music is not genuine classic. My tune at first was arranged in jazz samba or bossa, but it was as usual and easy. So I changed in string quartet. I learn a lot, because, number of instrument is only 4, and resemble sound. Next time, I try better sound. I really thank you very much.
This track is contagious. Simple melody and bass line but simple is good. What I really like is that high sound, that sounds like an exhaust, not the reverse cymbal, but the hi sound that sounds like a breath of fresh air, a water fountain spraying a beautiful woman to see her shirt. That sound, I love that sound and you place it nicely throughout the track. Keep up the great work.
This track is very well crafted. From start to finish. The vocals are OUTSTANDING. The writing is pure. The beat behind it fits nicely. This is a1 quality. Keep up the great work. Peace and Blessings.
You my friend, are very creative. Most definitely. You made those synths your bitch forreal. I am happily impressed and also inspired at the same time. I would like to see you put some of your creativity into the vocals as well, the same way you did with the music. Peace & Blessings. Oh, and what program do you sequence in, you have an awesome technique and lush synth sounds.
Thank you :D I'm very glad that it inspired you. Putting creativity in vocals is hard, as they're usually not mine, but I'll try, thanks. For sequencing I use FL Studio 12.1 and for the mainstream synths I like Nexus a lot. Pretty basic, but when layered they can give an awesome sound.
Feels like a scene in a movie. The point where the female victim is liberated. She had been trapped, tortured against her will. She endured pain, and finally, she breaks free. She is showered with relief, and a ray of peace is surrounding her. This is the music for her. As she makes her way back to her old life, she does not look back but can still feel the experience. Peace & Blessings.
Hello Benton,

I heard this song on the radio in the car before. And it was chill as hell. But your song, I hear it in the club! This is gonna bang some speakers and shake some asses! That part around 1:06 is life! Damn you did a great job on the remix. Peace & Blessings. The stutter effect after 2:36 is G forreal!
Not gonna lie, I was listening to the beginning and I wasn't expecting to hear vocals. But when they came on, they surprised me. In a good way. Just like the piano transition. That really is a beautiful addition to this piece. It took me thru a range of emotions in such a short time span. Which I like. Keep up the good work. Sounds good on my monitors. I can tell you're in an open room recording, or you have a heavy room reverb. Peace & Blessings.
Playing Cee lo with satan! A yo! I hope you win for real. A lot of emotion in the first vocal and the second vocal followed just nicely. Would like to hear more vocal processing on the singer's part (wet those vocals up a bit more). It looks like this track is about 6 years old so maybe you have updated the song. Peace & Blessings.
My favorite part is when the strings come in at 3:15. Gives it a more than love feeling but like an eternal bond. Definitely a lot of space for lush vocals, in my mind I can hear an old school singer like Marvin Gaye but then I also heard like a duet between a man and woman. Keep up the good work. Peace & Blessings.
Thanks for you kind comment, Benton. I for sure can heard an old school singer like Marvin (definitely somebody I admired greatly). I hadn't thought of a duet, but on reflection I can see/hear what you mean. I think it comes from the interweaving melody lines toward the end of the track. That's a really interesting suggestion. :)
Now I can play the piano, but you can PLAY the piano. Love your progressions. It reminds me when I used to be in the room all day and come up with progressions. Gives me that feeling that I'm at home, in my own space, crafting, creating. Visualizing. Very good. Would have love to have the last piece of the ending chord (the sustain) instead of it getting cut off. Peace & Blessings.
My favorite is the violins. The stabs or spiccs give it a driving force and the legato over the chorus bring it all together. I love the melody line but I would have preferred to hear it with a different instrument. Nice effect around 2:30. Peace & Blessings.
When you make it longer, switch up the arrangement. This piano is too beautiful not to be accompanied by some strings or brass. I'd definitely love to hear what you can create after a revisit. Peace & Blessings.
before :25 seconds I wasn't really sure how it would turn out. But you did not disappoint, and even better after about :50 seconds. Those drums sound phenomenal. What program do you use to produce with? The piano is my fav instrument and you did awesome with your use of it here. Peace & Blessings.
Right around 40 seconds I love that filter sweep. At 1 minute you really let loose man I love the creativeness. You're description of the track is on point. Your music sounds so innocent and blissful. But my favorite part is the piano at the end. Peace and Blessings.
I love that melody line. Its awesome. Your arrangement is very nice and I enjoyed this track. I'm a hip hop/rap guy but I can definitely vibe to this here. Peace & Blessings.
This sounds like reflection music. Like somebody going thru the motions and witnessing something in themselves while looking in the mirror or a body of water. Very creative.
Mr. McKenzie, thanks! I went to your tracks and listened before replying. (It's good to know where someone's coming from.) You've got depth, man. (You also have the broadest vocabulary I've heard in any rap, and you make it work!)
I like the instrument that sounds like a sample (or it very well could be) and I love the effect you placed on it when you make the transition to the verses. Keep up the good work.

And you are correct, that is a heavy room reverb. I wanted it to feel more like I was singing in a big room on my own.

Actually, this isn't me playing this piece; I kept on making mistakes.
Hopefully I'll be able to play this without mistakes sometime.
