The melody sells this one for me. It's a very entertaining track to listen to. Has a very happy vibe which I love. Great work on this one.

I like it. For being your first song you did good. Nothing is too overpowering. I'm glad you could use my acoustic :D

Came across this gem today. Had to stop in for another listen because it's so groovy. I love this one man. It's one of your best ones, in my opinion. Btw, for some reason, the track is not perfectly 80 BPM when I import it to my DAW haha. It gently sways around in tempo - so subtle but yet enough to throw off a structure haha. Nothing that harms the music though :)

Danke replied 4th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
Yeah...you wrote it before, it's nearly 80...didn't change it...in 1992 we recorded our 2nd album with that band I played without bpm...23 years later, it stands the new age's challenges...:-)

Thanx fpr your 6th visit on this number...

Handshake, Danke

on IM Gonna Be All Right - LSD REMIX by Livingsoulsdie
One thing I noticed is that the high end is harsh, particularly on the vocal; the vocal feels too concaved with a lack of presence and harms the beauty of the song because the sharpness of her voice is too strong.

Despite that, the music is SICK. I love the instrumental man. You should make a stand-alone version without vocals and do something with a lead synth. By far, my favorite part has to be 2:50 to 3:51. Your electronic skills have come a long way in a very short time :) Kudos, great work!

Thanks for the comment Epic. I think I hear what your saying now. I was having trouble with the multiband on the vocals because they are so flat I was trying to make them a little more "outstanding" but I guess its hard seeing as they were already processed. Thank you for enjoying and cant wait for your next track !

Unique beat. I like the arabian influence. I feel like the hit is a little weak but that's just my taste. That lead synth in the second part is so dope!

on Its a Twvrk by Poppe
This needs a fat juicy bass to fill in the low-end and it'd be KILLER. The groove is really driving. Awesome. If you need someone to master it, I'm willing to do it! Hit me up when it's done.

Wow just came across this one - I love it right at the start haha. You have a knack for this stuff :) I'm very impressed. This one has a great feel to it. You did very good on the mixing, if I may say so myself! I like what you built around my piano loop :D

on SOUNDS FROM KASHMIR by Darklighter
I think the drums coulda had a tad more crispy punch and a tad more presence in the mix but thats just my opinion :P The song structure was really cool, could have been a tad more complex in some spots but overall a great composition.

Your voice is strangely captivating to my ears haha. I like the effects you applied to the vocal. The music is driving but not aggressive, which I appreciate. Reminds me of a good ol' 80s song haha. Kudos on this one!

joecramer replied 11th Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
Hello Epic

This is almost a good old 80´s song :)
A part of the beat is a clasic EBM one (in a way)
And the vocals are a minimal version of a 80´s track made by a friend and me :)

Nice to know that my voice can hold you by your ears

I realy enjoy your comment

stay tuned

I uploaded the stems to this track into my DAW and it is struggling to handle the sheer amount of tracks that are contained in it :D Does the BPM move around for this one or stays the same throughout?

LOL. That is why I purchased a new computer. I fried my last one! Luckily I was able to save the contents of the hard drive. The computer I have now can pretty much handle any amount of tracks now lol. Bpm remains the same through out the whole thing.

on Stardust by jklice
I agree that this song lacks the punch it should have. It mainly goes to the drums and the way they were mixed. They're too far away. I think you might need to raise the volume of the drums up a bit so that it helps add the punch I so much desire for this song!

on MOVE ME by Livingsoulsdie
I think one thing this song is lacking a little bit of high-end. Maybe doing a wide sweep (say, 2kHz-15kHz) with about 1dB boost at the max crest would help this song a lot! Sorry for double post!

Livingsoulsdie replied 26th Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
Instead of a 1db boost, Mabey a low shelf with a 1db cut instead?

Juicy synth, driving drums, airy reverberated pads. Perfection imo. I like it. Great job for mastering! It probably came down to your great mix that made your mastering easy. If you've got a good mix, mastering will only put the icing on the cake so to speak. Great work!

on Drop Like This featuring Laer by mudhoen
That synth and drum go really well together. It's simple but in a complex way, if that makes any sense :D The vocal is really cool, has some neat effects applied to it. Honestly, the drums are my favorite thing. They are very groovy and carry the song into a higher level of percieved complexity even if it may be basic at its core.

ER
mudhoen
mudhoen replied 6th Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
Thanks for your comment ER. Always nice to hear your view on things. Because I hadonly 1 hour I used the most time on the drums and vocal because they are the backbone of a track. The acid synth is only 2 tones with effects. The melody is the weakest part in my opinion but I will change that in the near future. Always nice to hear a fellow producer hears how my workflow was. You were spot on!

You should make a song with just piano and some super deep, muffled synths and large sweeping strings. I love the way the piano sounds in this one. Superb job.

on Hey Black Boy Beat by Sic Cuz Da Guvna by Keston
I feel like the voice is varying a lot in volume in certain parts. I'm not sure if you're using a vocal compressor but if not it'll help your voice sound more even in volume. One more thing, I feel like the music is too quiet haha. You got a nice flow though, I must give you that. Ponderful lyrics as well.

This is beautiful beyond words. I finally listened to it on my studio speakers. Wow, I'm blown away. One thing I would have liked to see was some more sweeping strings but overall an extremely excellent job man.

on Crossfire Feat Oceanically by Ep5ilon
I feel like there's a tad bit too much reverb on Oceanically's vocal but the bassline/chord progression is so sick. Great production on this one man. I have no complaints regarding mixing or mastering besides that one issue. Great job!

ER
Ep5ilon
Ep5ilon replied 1st Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
I know, and there's a reason for that.
Initially, Oceanically's vocal had to be time stretched in several places, which made it sound edgy between notes. The reverb is there to hide this. Then I just added reverb to the piano and gaming synth to balance out the track.
Thanks for the feedback. :)

on JAweGuy - Everything Can Change by JAweGuy
YAY!! Another hit from one of my favorite composers on LM. What'd you use for the guitar harmonic? There are a few parts where it sounds a little MIDI-ish but it's probably not noticeable for most listeners - so it's not a game changer :P Beautiful composition as always and like zac, I wish this one was longer :) Great work, as always! I will add you to Skype soon - just having issues with it updating right now, trying to figure that out.

Hi EpicRecord,

Thanks for your comment, and for taking a listen. I'm not too sure what I used, it was a synth but sounds a little like a guitar.

Thanks!

on Speak This Now - Ft Dikaiko-Emain - Empty Slot by 8Kass8
Your editing of the vocals fit well with the song. The rap vocal sounds a little too far away imo but to each their own. The snare is also a little weak (?) but since it doesn't consume the vocal, I'd say it still works. The second part of the female vocal is too soft and I can't hear what she's saying - maybe turning up the volume of her voice at those points will help. Good idea overall. Very chill track and a catchy synth and string plucks!

Cool but not-too-exciting piano at the start. Very chill song. Could hear a slow heavy rap over this haha. What do you use for your drums? Software or hardware?
