Great intro, that synth is amazing, but when the second layer comes in I would turn it down a bit. Nice drums too...

Great track!

Great track, I like the little break down to bring in the bass, but the bass does sound a little weird to me, the sound, I would choose a sound that is a little more filtered I guess.

Really like it, but the lyrics sound a bit loud at first, then they equal out.

Great track!

Sounds great, but definitly a different intro, don't jump right into it. I think a bit of mastering would make it sound better too, I can see this being a top notch track with a little work! Also use a different bass sound, you are using more of a hardcore bassline, which is for, well hardcore, I prefer to use softer basslines, or actual bass samples, but nothing harsh.

Great Track

The guitar comes in a little expected, cool, but I think you could have the shakers going, then filter in the guitar?

Great track!

The lead sounds pretty cool, but you need to bring it out with a big saw lead, hypersaws, whatever, stack the saws, detune them, make it hardcore!

on Invasion by Dj_Lex
The intro is awesome, reminds me a lot of Phaze 2 Phaze by.... ummm... Hixxy? I don't know you can look it up, they should remake the game space invaders just for the sake of having this song on it...

Great Track!

on Never Thought that i were miss you by Orex
Sounds great, but I would turn the kick down, or use a less distorted one, and it's genre would be dance.

on So Close Yet So Far by lazyboy
I never studied music really, just after a year I have taught myself, but d minor and c minor are usual trance keys. You can find them online. Dynamic, means it changes, just make it change more, make it shorter, because right now you have a a very skinny mile long road, we want a solid square, if that analogy made any sense at all, make it shorter and compress all the ideas!

on So Close Yet So Far by lazyboy
What key do you use for your music, because this doesn't sound a regular trance key, they can make all the difference, I think your bassline would be killer if it was shifted a bit. Add a bit more layering, make it a little more dynamic, good ideas to far apart.

Great track!

Ok I can tell somewhat i guess. It's a process of writing synth lines, resampling them in Ableton, warping and effecting slices. All macro controlled through arp settings, loop length/comprssion and filter sweeps. :D

The bassline in the beginning sounds more dnb, maybe you could sidechain it and it would be a very different but possibly great bassline! Also there is no intro, wait, just read its a sample, yeah keep working!

on Call to arms by ReignStorms
The beginning is a cool beat, but really random, it's glitch then orchestral. Also the loops are a little weird when the snares roll, it kind of stops in a way, sounds like you made it into one loop, I would separate them and layer them to avoid that awkward silence.

Still a great epic track!

I wish I had my own studio so I could make my own loops. I have to work with what I can get. With what little I do have, I have to say that I'm happy with this one.

on Lazyboy - The Beat Within by lazyboy
The drums are nice, but the bass drum I don't think should have that much reverb on it, or decay, I prefer to use just a solid hit. I would work the drums into it a bit, don't start off with everything bumping in the beginning, it will make the intro sound more dynamic. I really like it when the chorus comes in.

Great track!

on Waxing Synthetic by Falter
New synths are great aren't they. A little repetitive though and the energy never seems to come. I think you need to use a different kick and at one point in the song add a hardcore melody, something using the low high type melody. Where you have say, C2 then C4 right after it in eighth notes, repeat and add variations, if that makes sense.

-DaMann
Falter
Falter replied Unknown
yeah dude, that totally makes sense. ill give it a go, good effort mate. i've only been workin with some 'okay' headphones so the kicks sound different to me than to you, you know? my stuff should shape up when my new system comes in. cant wait man. i love xmas presents haha.

on synergy competition--there's a robot in my kitchen by Rorshach2021
Really cinematic, how did you get those awesome pluck reverb synthy sounds? House always sounds too repetitive to me though, I think it needs to be more dynamic, but I guess the repetitiveness is part of the genre.

on Slap Me by sulmona
It's a good song, but we have something to discuss. I am from Texas, and I used to think all electronic music was techno, but I learned. This would fall under more funk, or something like that. Rock maybe. Electronic dance music (EDM) usually has a four on the floor beat, that means a bass kick on every fourth beat, and a bass stab in between the bass kicks along with an open hi hat. There is also Drum n Bass which is an exception, but I'm too lazy to explain that more. If I were you I would look into genres and learn them all, you can be one of the few people in Texas that actually knows their EDM genres.

Great track!

Thanks for your suggestions, DaMann. If only I had time to investigate every genre out there! It seems like someone's inventing a new one every day. I'm glad you liked the track, however. You've posted a LOT of tunes out there. I'll check them out when I have a little more time. Happy holidays.

It's always great to split someones head in two, but even better to do it with musical style. I love breakcore, and glitch, and dnb, and edm, and whatever this might fall under. Sounds a lot like Aphex Twin!
