on SHATTERPROOF by AAP FT LEO VALENTINE by djphildrummin
Bowwow yipieyo yippiejeh ... I'd say the singer ... ahm .. she's a brick house. And she needs to come off that brick wall. But this is a strange and catchy, groovy tune anyway that would shake club walls!
My regards,
Micky

There's quite much going on but this thing is groovin really. Very interesting implementation of vocals. I seem to hear young whacko jacko in it. The end is cool too.

on The revenge of Bokrug by Stereonomicon
Caro Marco,
THIS ONE would have been perfect as the tribute to Florian.
I agree with others saying this sounds dedicated to the past but I also hear your own style and some very modern elements too. Isn't it funny that the use of a snare sound is quite similar to that many are using today? Your artistic skills are awesome – on this one as well as on everything else you do ...! P.S.: I will get me some of HPLs books – that is another effect of your works here.

Greetings to your kids,
have a nice day,
Michael

Dear Friend, your words truly honor me. I have a great esteem for your artistic work and I learned to appreciate you as a friend, despite the fact that we never met. By now in my family you have become legendary. Thanks and a warm greeting, see you soon

on Where Is She by HeathAlexander
I don't know much about lo-fi but to me it appears to be a masterpiece. I enjoyed listening a lot, clear sound with much dimension and somehow like a movie in the mind. Great piece of music. Oh, and wonderful use of guitars ...

Michael

Thank you. LoFi is primarily characterized by its use of LOw FIdelity sounds as well as warm analog tones. I want my tracks to be like small adventures so that by the end you ask yourself "How did it get here". I appreciate your feedback.

on On The Way Back with tighter mix now by DijamMusic
Hi Majid, this one sounds great. There's a very pleasant kind of monotony that makes it very hypnotic. I can see the masses dancing ... :o) Good work! Vocals wouldn't be wrong though ...

on Sxxkllz by LilDiaper
Shalom, LilDiaper. I don't know if this one entirely consists of samples or if you played any of the instruments. But that's a pretty atmospheric tune anyway. Nothing really happens and usually I would say it gets a little boring, but in this case it's more a static picture and to me it's good!
Peace,
Michael

Hi Kuazu, I discovered this by accident and it sounds awesome. Seems you're a professional producer but obviously you didn't use the commenting system here. Otherwise I could not understand why I am the only one leaving some comment here. It's just great.

Wow Stereonomicon - that was quite a trip which caused me flashbacks ... Unfortunately Edgar Froese is (another one who is) not among us anymore – he should hear it! But don't get me wrong, your great work does not need any comparisons, it stands alone.
Greetings to lovely Italy,

Best wishes and see you soon

on Mysterious Power by toddlove
Hey Todd, you are right saying that technical know how is important. I agree completely. But what I want to say is: watch out because over trying to get the perfect sound the creativity might easily take the back seat. Both is important, but my point is that you can reach somebody with a good song that has a bad sound rather than with a bad song that has a flawless sound. But that's only my opinion. Stay creative ...
My regards,
Michael
toddlove
toddlove replied 22nd May 2020 - 5 years ago
Thanks man! I absolutely agree! I think the priority has to be your idea and creativity and the production plays a supporting role to that. Although good production can certainly help get your idea or message across and make it potentially more enjoyable for the listener. So yes, both are important, but the creative side to me is top dog in the process. I sometimes have to remember to try and not "fiddle" with knobs etc. too much with each instrument as it is added in regards to sound quality, but rather make sure the new instrument added is "right" sound for what I want. And maybe even trying to not do any production work until the song is completely flushed out in its bare bones form.

Thanks for your time, appreciate it!
