on Sxxkllz by LilDiaper
Shalom, LilDiaper. I don't know if this one entirely consists of samples or if you played any of the instruments. But that's a pretty atmospheric tune anyway. Nothing really happens and usually I would say it gets a little boring, but in this case it's more a static picture and to me it's good!
Peace,
Michael

Hey, this sounds just wonderful. The accapella you used here is well pasted and the general atmosphere is really cool. And an extra star for that profile image ...

on Runnin by kuazu
Hi Kuazu, I discovered this by accident and it sounds awesome. Seems you're a professional producer but obviously you didn't use the commenting system here. Otherwise I could not understand why I am the only one leaving some comment here. It's just great.

on The Nameless City by Stereonomicon
Wow Stereonomicon - that was quite a trip which caused me flashbacks ... Unfortunately Edgar Froese is (another one who is) not among us anymore – he should hear it! But don't get me wrong, your great work does not need any comparisons, it stands alone.
Greetings to lovely Italy,
Michael

Good morning Michael, it is always a great pleasure to hear from you, thank you for the comparison with Edgar Froese, for me this is a real honor. I keep following your fantastic music on Looperman.
Best wishes and see you soon

This will surely help getting him outta that fix. It would get me out of anything. The harp notes are the icing on the cake. Beautiful.

on Mysterious Power by toddlove
Hey Todd, you are right saying that technical know how is important. I agree completely. But what I want to say is: watch out because over trying to get the perfect sound the creativity might easily take the back seat. Both is important, but my point is that you can reach somebody with a good song that has a bad sound rather than with a bad song that has a flawless sound. But that's only my opinion. Stay creative ...
My regards,
Michael

toddlove replied 22nd May 2020 - 6 years ago
Thanks man! I absolutely agree! I think the priority has to be your idea and creativity and the production plays a supporting role to that. Although good production can certainly help get your idea or message across and make it potentially more enjoyable for the listener. So yes, both are important, but the creative side to me is top dog in the process. I sometimes have to remember to try and not "fiddle" with knobs etc. too much with each instrument as it is added in regards to sound quality, but rather make sure the new instrument added is "right" sound for what I want. And maybe even trying to not do any production work until the song is completely flushed out in its bare bones form.

Thanks for your time, appreciate it!

Rick! Good gosh - this is fire! What I like the most is that the whole thing grooves like hell on just those few snare hits that serve as a beat.

on its TIME ft Steelyvibe and Kurt Schroder by Jynxz
Hey Jynxz,
this is just fantastic. You know that I love your stuff and like you, I would love to see it more featured. The comment function here on LM is essential for that. You can easily find some music that catches your interest and then you should comment it. You don't have to feel bad about it. Tell folks that you like their music or what you would change or maybe you can help with some hints. That's the way you can get in touch with other artists and exchange - and that's what this site is about. I see it more like a community ...
Keep up the good work,
Michael
P.S.: please excuse my bad english - I try my best!
Jynxz
Jynxz replied 23rd May 2020 - 6 years ago
Hello DrKlinger,
I saw your comment yesterday but, there was no "reply" button. I'm glad they fixed it.You and the LM community have made this site an excellent place for musical expression. Your comments encourage me to keep trying when I want to stop. It's so interesting to listen to the evoloution of the music of some of the LM alumni like yourself (5yrs or more). There is a huge body of musical works on LM. 5 yrs from now I hope to look back on the tracks that all the players have shared and know that I was there too.
BTW... Your english is perfect
Thanks for your listen & comment
PEACE...

Hello Lochovski, I know it's a little late, but I'm glad I finally found this – it's awesome. I fully agree with Joe - this genre seems to be easy for you, so you should do more like this ... downunder soul ... ;o)

on SliMusic - EVE by SliMusic
Hey Slimusic, this is fantastic. Everybody uses these kind of drums now and I'm a bit fed up with it, but in your track they are absolutely right. It could also file under ambient or chill out. Some parts remind me of ART OF NOISE - maybe you heard of them. A very beautiful work here!

on Red Eye by GrotiRoti
Hi there, GrotiRoti,
I am a guitar/bass player too and I just love your song. To me it's pure, relaxed beauty. 5/4 is cool and used very rarely here on LM. The only thing I don't really get, is that it all sounds as if it's going on behind a curtain, but maybe that was your intention.
Have a nice day,
Michael
GrotiRoti
GrotiRoti replied 10th May 2020 - 6 years ago
Thank you! The overall muddled sound is a bit intentional but also just representative of my lack of production abilities. Everything was recorded directly into an interface with no pre amps or anything. I only have audacity to mix with, so to keep everything from sounding too dry I rolled the treble off my guitars and drenched most of the tracks in reverb.

I think it complements the overall vibe well but I feel some stuff could shine and shimmer a little more if I knew what I was doing.

on Set Us Free Featuring DJ Samples by ClickbaitCabaret
You are very good at creating dramatic atmospheres; something threatening seems to be going on; some national state of emergency ... maybe that could as well be filed under cinematic!
But what I love the most is the fact that the speaker's rhythm matches perfectly with the beat in a polyrhythmic way - that is very cleverly done.
Greetings fom the medical practice,
Michael

Hello DrKlinger,
I wish I could make it out to Deutschland so we could get a chance to put together some good music.
Playing in a garage band was like a rite of passage when I was coming up.
Now, these guy's can make music with people all over the world.
I imagine there will be some really interesting music coming out soon.
Thanks for listening.
