Pleasant greetings, Northern Licker.

You have been rocking and I have been listening.

Your money-hungry minister doesn't do a whole lot for me but it's short so doesn't matter. Rocking quickly starts and the riffs are instantly fairly compelling. Only problem is the drums. They're pounding away in a fairly nondescript manner until 0:48, when things get clearer and a bit more spacious. Maybe too much crash up till then. Hard to fault it but something is a bit off. Sorry I can't help more.

0:28 organ is a useful addition.

1:26 a bit of an abrupt change but what it goes into is nice. Twinkling celeste.

1:37 that's much more spacious. Nice toms. Things are clearer with less/no poundage going on. Lead starting 1:37 makes me think a bit of A Perfect Circle, as does that whole middle section. Best part of the track.

1:57 rumbling bass is warm and groovy. Lead g is decent.

2:30 your quirky little froh appears and then gets stomped on and blasted to the back of the rom but thrashing, soaring lead work. Maybe the end section and first section drums are lacking low end. Kick is hard to pick out. Maybe it's all too much cymbalage and that's creating a bit of a wall of punding drum noise.

Nice end section soloing. Except 3:29 ending is too abrupt.

3:22 to end perhaps remove that palm muted backing guitar. Let the delayed solo ring out. Try it and see.

This is good, progressive shit but simply needs a couple of better transitions and more work on two drum sections.

Static Flickermad, more than just a little curious how you're planning to go about making your amends to the dead.

Yo, latex licker.

Maybe the minister wasn't meant for you and doesn't want to do anything for you. Without a donation, you aren't of too much use to him.

Drums are always an issue for me. Im trying to get an old drummer friend of mine to get his E-kit working in the free key I gave him of StudioOne. Have him trigger some midi for me, though I should just use the pads on my midi controller.

I'll get in there and make some changes.

Evan, mistaking nods for an approval.

Good to see you back here again Evan, was missing you and wondering your whereabouts. I see you were busy and this new track is definitely worth the wait. I'm not sure of the intent with the intro sound bite but I am not a fan of many of these modern day televangelist's. But there are also some good ones that I do like very much. In regards to the music, I like the structure and the way you start this off with a bridge or chorus section before hitting more of a main line groove, which is pretty strong, I really dig it. Then we hit the bridge prefacing the next section with a real slick tempo shift. Man that mid section kicks off with some poly metered off beat stuff that is waaaay cool bro. The guitar and bass here is totally bitchin, I love it. I could have listened to a few more bars of that pretty easy. Another bridge and another progression with some nice lofty high register lead mixing delay effected slides and scales that guides it right to the creshendo ending. Wonderful man. Its a great example of progressive rock featuring some tremendous guitar and bass work. You could definitely make it different but making it better might be pretty tough. At least in my opinion !

Greetings, Mr. Morpheus.
I appreciate the kind words. I've been sitting on this one and a few others for a while. A lot of failed continuations and redos.
As for the soundbite, I only have issues with spiritual leaders who are clearly taking advantage if their followers. The guy in the soundbite was telling people to write hot checks to prove their faith. This particular guy was really bad. There are a lot of community and fellowship-minded churches that I believe have very positive effects. This guy is not one of them.

I hope all is well with you.

Naughty Mr E, still not replying to some of the comments left on his tracks.

I managed to upload my latest track but can't listen to anyone else's so that's why I'm leaving this comment here.

Here's my latest and you might like the title but perhaps not much more. Grooving cellout, no badassery. Give it a go:

hello this one was a bit surprising (in positive!) and quite different from what I can remember from you. Yes, definitely more progressive, changing and interesting in terms of the 'colors' and tempo. Nice writing, especially in the opening section! I like it in particular maybe because I was listening a lot to Al Di Meola sort of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWxTyld-r_8 it is very mixed 'fusion' also with synthesizers.
I can not give you any details (whish I could write and think faster haha) - just to say that I really like what you did.

Really nice playing and cool sounds for all the guitar parts, there is alot of varieties and dynamics going on which i like, still with this sort of instrumental mastery i would like to have some freak influence included. This type of playing is way beyond my skill but from an personal point of view i would like a little more surprises in there. Hella good though

Hello, good sir.

Glad to hear you've been productive! Sorry, I've not been doing any Looperman listening for a while. Got a bit disenchanted with the lack of new Rock/Metal instrumentalists joining the site, and an influx of producers and rappers. Also not a fan of the mouth-flapping coming from a Funktastic bitch who admonishes every perceived micro-aggression. So it's the track section disappointment, and the forum policing. I would rather leave than stay and complain. Also been more active this summer. I quit smoking over 3 years ago and now we're biking and hiking and canoeing about the Ozarks. I have really gotten into fishing in an unhealthy way. Addicted.

I have two partial tracks in the hopper, and a couple collabs with looperman members that may see the light of day in the next year. Hopefully sooner with my personal tracks.

Good to hear from you!

Take care.

Greetings O´ Smiter of the orange haired despotic one!
Nice dynamics. 2:00 was uplifting as all get out. Loved that progression. I could almost hear lyrics for this one. 3:02 is another sound that I am enjoying greatly.

Hey dude, cool little rocker here!

What bass player wouldn't want a bass intro to every song, right? You have that punchy bass tone we all come to expect, totally dig it. The differences between the first half and second is a good thing, dynamics get overlooked often but this one has a calm before the storm. Good job on modeling the guitar's sounds, there is good separation of the tracks using different settings and effects. Love the delay!

More music box!!!!! Such an overlooked instrument in the world of rock.

Take care!

Can you guess who it is yet? That's right - it's Tha Mothfuckin' Nomad, here to offer wisdom, deep insight and humour. Or at least just some words to read.

Classic Bass Bro bass intro.

0:15 little reverse swell fill that is a useful in place of, say, a drum fill. Then good toms and I can hear a nice, wide stereo spectrum, with interesting variety happening in both ears.

0:46 change has a jaunty little riff that is a bit too jaunty and Irish for me but that's OK.

Then the 1:00 Egyptian lead is very cool. You may not know that I was born in Cairo but now you do. Good that the jauntiness has been suppressed here. Might not fit with the exotic lead, which is a cool and unexpected flavour.

1:46 music box is also unexpected. Pleasant but not amazing. Then some massive guitar shit rips a hole in something, especially at 2:07. Progressive, climbing, probably somewhat chromatic rise. It's loud, with a flat waveform, but sounds just fine.

A useful break and then into other heavy riffage. Fairly rapid changes, as always.

3:24 another bit of lead g to take things further out and make them more epic. Gotta go on for a while with this kind of vibe.

Music box outro is fine. Woud have been odd if the instrument hadn't already made an appearance but, as it did, it works.

Lots going on here and some of it could be seen as an odd juxtaposition. But it also gives the track unique character so that's good. Could you maybe have tried to work a heavy version of the Egyptian riff into the final heavy section?

Greetings, fondler of fleshy fornication folds.

"You may not know that I was born in Cairo but now you do."

Yes, I knew that. You, and your Grandfather were born there. Your rowing butler has been giving me inside info on the Nomad for years.

Yeah, I could have used Harmonic Minor/Egyptian scale for an end solo, but I was ready to move on. This is not my best track, so was ready to go other places.

More later,... masturbator.

Yes, delicate ending, but I dig it. I see your issue though.

Wow! I'm totally blown away with this track! Excellent job Evan! This sort of reminds me of what a updated cross of 70's rock bands like "Yes, Focus and Flash" (if you've ever heard of them) would sound like. Absolutely love the creativeness of this tune; very sweet guitar riffs kicking in at 3:42. This track has everything I love to heard in a "instrumental rock track of this genre." Not to mention some "Kick-Ass" Rock" as well as some exceptional mixing. Very clean and professional which made it very enjoyable to listen to. Best track I've heard in some time, again wonderful track Evan thanks for sharing.

Peace

What can I say that hasn't already been said. Great mix, big sound filling the entire stereo field. Guitars are ripping and thick, good overall tone too. Some singing/vocals on this track and you have a hit on your hands! Seems you've wrapped your head around those Superior drums, they sound great.

Well done man, your best mix so far!

Hey Evan, damn I'm late getting back to you on this one. I gave it a listen at work a while back and didn't have time to give it a sufficient review. This track grabbed me in the nads right after the reverse cymbal intro and didn't let go all the way through. Another words, it had my undivided attention from start to finish. Its a fuckin great composition of a track bro. In my opinion your skills have never been been better exemplified. I have to say that the Superior drums really make a difference here. I'm envious of the tasteful programming job you've done syncing the drums and guitar. That's not so easy to do. I know your a wicked bass player but man you bust out some pretty impressive chops on the 6 string here as well. As a bass player you certainly understand phrasing and you carried it over into your guitar playing. However I would have liked to of heard more power chords in this, particularly in that outro section (4:30) I think would have benefitted with some nice heavy chords in the flow. I think you really nailed the EQ in this too. Everything sounds tight and perfectly leveled. I love the tone on the guitar man. Fat and crisp but not too detuned!
This track like some of your others seems to have a Celtic vibe to it, and considering the title I can easily imagine some medieval story involving Viking ships braving raging seas and tumultuous storms in an effort to find new lands to conquer.

Good stuff Evan.
Next question, when is the album coming out ?

Never been big on Metallica, but I did like Finger Eleven's earlier stuff like "Greyest of Blue Skies". I heard "Broken Words" played acoustic and live at a radio station, and looked into their stuff. Borderline too radio-friendly even back then. Now, those "One Thing" and "Paralyzed" tracks are total shit. Not sure what the rest of the album sounds like because the singles they vomited out tell me it's all crap now.
