Great work - tune has big potential for vocalist I reckon.

Very nice swells and journey.

Only thing is the master is a little maxed out mebbe? The bass and synth work so well around 2.55 but when the kick comes back about 3.12 it pushes things back on the compressor just a touch. Mebbe that's what you wanted, but it's really good bit of work!

Well done and cheers!

Thanks Maff ;D I hope that a vocalist comes on my path for this but it won't probably happen ;d

I know the master is maxed out, I noticed it after I rendered it and was like mm well don't want to change it but I should have done it.

Well I planned that the kick pushed it back because the main part I wanted the focus on there was the drum pattern and seems it worked then ;)

Thanks again for the kind comment and will see you around

If thats your first DnB attempt- i m afraid what the 10th will be like. Really great job on that mate - lol that weird piano starting around 2:00. Really nice mix, and just before the piano starts being annoying - the track ends. Great job - keep goin!

We'll see ^^ Yeah I wasn't sure if the piano was getting too long or not so I was being like mm should I change it later on or not but decided to keep it like this and not make the track too long. Thanks for leaving a comment ;)

nice track... but in the next tracks u produce of this genre u shud experiment with new sound...
and for the vocals, use some sampled sounds...
johnnyproducing
johnnyproducing replied 9th Jan 2014 - 12 years ago
Well I was thinking about using sampled sounds but didn't got anything I liked yet, I will get to using new sounds but didn't have them available to make something in this genre so probably gonna work on making some for this. Thanks for leaving the comment ;)

Hello ....

I am not sufficiently expert in this musical genre, for to criticize anything .... but what I hear is quite pleasant.
By cons I'm not a singer, and therefore could not respond positively to your request (your comment on my track "Rain Falls Soft" it is not my voice) ....

Hello ....

There are probably still the "work" at achieve for mixing the levels in this concept, but the idea is good .... Although a bit repetitive ( All this is only my humble impression), I appreciate what you have produced. Good harmonies also.

Don't know exactly what you mean with "There are probably still the "work" at achieve for mixing the levels in this concept" but I think I can guess that you mean the mixing could use some extra work or something, in that case could you say what should be tweaked to achieve a better result? ;p Could indeed become a bit repetitive since it features the same chords being played but it's very hard to find other chords to fit with the song so I try to break that as much as possible by making different ways of playing them. I like it mate. If this is your first song, then your second song must be on another level! If you cannot find a vocal, maybe experiment with sampled sounds/vox. Thanks for sharing!

Haha first song on drum and bass eh not that I produced hehe. I am glad you liked it, you are good with spoken words as far as I know so if you want and you can come up with something for this then hit me up ;) We'll see about the next song, could take a while before my creativity and inspiration is recharged to blast again haha. Thanks for the comment

This is really great for your first attempt at a genre! Like alemen said it sound like it can be used on a tv show or video game.

Good work!

Great!

As i mentioned before in previous posts to other people, I'm a sucker for old 8bit commodore-64 sounds. Blip - blop. This song has got all of that! This is just like a good old shoot out tv-game. Maybe It's not what I call a drum and bass track, but I like it alot!

On the other hand - what do I know about genres?

Chreers, Anders.

I am glad you liked it, I would call it drum and bass because of the drum pattern used. It's like a typical DnB pattern. Haha let's get someone to program a game for it then ^^

Your beat is awesome but it misses indeed a nice vocal for more variation in the song. But nice job, Keep it up!!!

Thank you, I hope someone will come up and give this a shot (preferably female vocals) and then we'll see but won't happen soon probably

Did you get the samples from button bass dubstep cube? Still a good song
johnnyproducing
johnnyproducing replied 7th Jan 2014 - 12 years ago
No, I got the sample through some sample pack I downloaded but I noticed later after someone commented that dubstep cube had the same thing (so maybe the cube is made from that sample pack or visa versa)

The grand piano combined with the strings is much of a winner in this song. It has got the feeling of a winter morning, I would say. It's perfect for a ambient song and sometimes I get the feeling of listening to an old Mike Oldfield song, take that as some thing good.

Cheers, Anders.

Hello. I guess everyone's already said it all but I'll try to add something else (but I may fail).

I thought the top pad synth that starts with the piano was slightly noisy (though I like the synced panning) so maybe should come in sometime after the intro.

It's a good piano sound (many I don't like) and the low notes are generally what I most like on a piano.

This is quite magical and heavenly and would make for some very effective emotive soundtrack music.

2:13 you take it a little darker but then get it back on melodic track for the second half.

4:12 it sounds much clearer without that noise on the whole track (I thought was just the synth, maybe not).

I think that section sounds the clearest and would prefer the rest of the track to have that level of clarity.

Good work and good luck with any changes.

johnnyproducing replied 4th Jan 2014 - 12 years ago
Hi StaticNomad, Thank you for leaving a comment appreciate it really much. The reason why the piano comes with the pad is since it's a layered preset and I used 2 pianos (one the clear one and one with the pads). I know not everyone will like it but I added it in as a way to give it the more drifting/floating feeling instead of keeping the ambience so empty and leaving so much room to fill up. But might have overdone it then, could redo the track with clear piano and no pads behind it but I think I will leave it like this unless many people want me to do it (although many people on here is like 6 to 7 people that comment hahaha). Glad you enjoyed the track itself further.
Greetings john ;)

I love the atmospheric piano and pad;
the intro melody really took me :)

The key change was very unexpected, lovely, and perspective-changing.

Great job :)

There are only 2 instruments that I would have loved to play and that's the piano and guitar as both can enhance the emotions in your heart, this was such a beautiful song and was pretty choked. Great work johnnyproducing

I like the piano sound you are using and the effects give it a big spacious dreamy quality to the track. I liked the transition around 2:30. Ambient, cool, beautiful...no matter how you slice it.

Piano, played this well gets my attention every time johnnyp....very fine playing indeed and thoughtfully composed....I`m not listening on my studio monitors this morning but I thought I caught a little distortion at times from the heavy limiting on the mix...Please doint take that as a criticism as I think it is an excellent track & deserves the best production we can come up with....well done....Ed

johnnyproducing replied 27th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Thanks a lot ed ;) I didn't hear any distortion though so I think it's your pc but else I would gladly fix it, I don't see it as criticism and appreciate that you can come with some constructive feedback ;) Thanks again for commenting
