This is pretty cool! I like the marching kind of rhythm of the drums, makes it kind of old school sounding. I like the part around 1:20 very much, it's got good melodic form. Very interesting style of hip hop! Good work!

Haha thank you spivkurl ;) One of my earlier works and I wasn't expecting people to like this very much so thanks for dropping a comment.

This has a great flow to it, man. I'm especially impressed by how well the prismatic arps rest upon the droning pads. The wobbles being used as accents instead of the domineering aspect was a good choice as well. Kudos, mister.

Yeah bro this is sweet!
It sounds like a battle between good and evil with the Heavenly Arps and Wicked Wobbles. (not so keen on the siren effect however)
I dig it tho man, awesome track.

johnnyproducing replied 10th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Thanks Neomorpheus ;) interesting view. Mmm I wasn't fully satisfied with the sfx of the siren too but I didn't had anything better for it yet + it fitted in there eventually

I seriously love the intro synth's chord and rhythm ! The introduction of the dubstep part was just really great in how it developed.
Good track :) :D

Glad you liked it so much ;) I appreciate all the positive feedback. I wasn't expecting many people to like this actually, it's not the usual dubstep

I've been wanting to do some trancestep sort of thing lately too, so it's nice to hear something like this! Uplifting intro for sure, and then the beat hits very nicely! Sweetness in the arpeggio! Very avant garde use of wobbles here, you nailed it! If you don't mind me asking, what tempo is this? Great sounding transitions throughout the song! I'm thoroughly impressed! Faved for sure!

johnnyproducing replied 5th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Nice nice spivkurl ;) thanks for the comment, might surprise you but it is a standard 140 bpm but I made the arpeggio to fit with it, I am very glad you liked it and I really appreciate your comment

Very nice work remixing some fellow Canadians. I was thinking that you could sing the vocals through a vocoder (not an autotune) and that would be appropriate for this mix.

johnnyproducing replied 5th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
I don't know, don't have any real good recording equipment and I have no idea what to sing for it (think female vocals would do better for it too haha) also here is the mix I made of closer http://play.beatport.com/contests/tegan-sara-closer/529b8803b8ed74474677698f

I haven't tried making any wobbles or dubstep yet with Sylenth. I'm going to have to give it a go, though.
As far as this tune goes, I really like the main rhythm. It stays with you after the song is done.
Good work, man.

Thank you ValVedriVer for the comment ;) I found this track to be sort of stuck in my head when I was working at it, seems I am not the only one having that feeling.

I am a fan of dubstep, and this is a funky form of it. Im digging this. It's another non-traditional track, which is beautiful to my ears. Adding the piano in the middle of the track was a splendid idea. It's not common to hear keys in a dubstep track. You have such a high level of creativity. Fantastic!

Hey, this is wicked! Love the style of sound design very much! Thanks for your kind shout out in your reply to an earlier review! Love where this goes after the drop, it's so intense! Sylenth really is an excellent synth, and you obviously know how to use it! Very sweet dubstep here! Faved for sure!

Catchy from the very first seconds with these magnetic synths! I love your wobbles, they smart and not too heavy .
A very pleasant and instructive listening . I really dig the last part from 3:10 !!

Nice Job on this one Johnny....I like that you have brought quite a few different elements into the mix...I dont mind the sparcer hiphop mixes but find that many of them get very repetative if you listen close to the backing music...Hope you find the vocal you want....well done...Ed

johnnyproducing replied 14th Nov 2013 - 12 years ago
I have the same feeling about other hiphop mixes that's why I decided to make something different, I mean it's indeed ok to have the sort of repetitive hiphop beats but when I listen to them I get annoyed after a while because they stay the same from start to end

hei glad to find a new one of yours Johnny .It was a groovY on.man if I was as old as U I'd tried to sing it by myself too .Johny about instrumental version I specially liked those piano ( or synth)which comes about 1':26'',and after that second track finds a adorable complication and has many lines which is more than what I've used to except from hiphop.JohnnY , I shouldn't say this because U shouldn't believe this cause if We believe we are good , we may stop learning and improvement of our musiX,buT it's not deniable that U compose over your age.your age is half of mine , buT your music is sometimes equal and sometimes beynd mine..best wishes my friend.___Behnam

johnnyproducing replied 4th Nov 2013 - 12 years ago
Hi there Behnam ;) I tried something else in the hiphop kinda thing, don't like the really repetitive things so I took that out and created something of my own to fit better into what I like. I can't really sing so I hope to find someone else for it. I think saying that I compose equal or beyond your composition isn't true since everyone has his or her own style which is unique from others. I always see music as something that speaks to you or doesn't, but here music speaks to us all. Music is just something that comes from the heart at least in my case but how it's seen by others is just an opinion and a matter of taste so everyone will judge differently.
Behnam thank you for your comments, they put me to think and I respect that you take your time to write them.

Greetings johnny ;)
