This is a good track. Tone the piano down a touch, the vocals are fine. Can you add a little bass to carry it along? Up the kick a littl more. I think that some times the percussion could do with some shake or ride just add to the quiet sections with no beat. But that is just my take and in no way reflects on your track. I like it as it is actually and you have done a great job apart from the piano been a tad loud. Well done.
Thanks for your time and all the suggestions to improve this track! I'll try to remaster it when I have acces to a functioning computer again (the old one just crashed).
So glad you liked it this way also - take care!
Thank you for the comment and for listening!
My laptop just crasched yesterday and died completely (or so it seems) and I'm now listening to this with other headphones on an other computer and - oh boy - it all sounds really muddy and not at all the same as before. I guess that's a good thing to discover!
But you are right - nothing can be completely perfect - or if it is, then it looses something else.
The muddiness I have to try to fix, though! =D
About the genre - I really didn't know where to put this, maybe you are right.
Take care!
dear S.J, glad to hear a new track of yours after a while , and byond everything this new track of yours make me ask myself how would be if I become a father someday & can I compose like now & myself or like U ?!?
uuumm...I'm noT sure if I can ...!
oh I speciallY reallY love those SaX loops by FrancO , & U've used them so considered . & those drum lines by our tallented colleague Sprikuval , and as Patrick has told himself too , I also like those pianO too so much . vocal line's voice too was impressive . & totalY U had make a reallY remarkable package .welldone .thnX for sharinG .best wishes.___Behnam
Oh hi Behnam!!
So happy to have you back here with us!
Haha - well I Think you would get yet an other new dimension to your creativity if you become a father so I'm gessing you would sound as You but even more like You. And you already compose magical stuff, so it would be even more magical.
I love the sax too, and the drumloops in this song! And Antranita has a special soulful voice - I just remastered the track to get her voice more infront. I did the pianopart myself although it's only done in FL Studio and is not at all the real thing but maybe some day...
Thanks for listening and for the fav!
I'm so glad to hear from you that I'm fav'in YOU Behnam!

This one has a nice and relaxing vibe! I like the piano, very good accompaniment to the vocals. Maybe a high pass filter on the vocals would make them sit in the mix a bit better, i dunno.
This is cool! I like how you've used the vocals! Thanks for incorporating one of my loops! The mix sounds pretty good to me, except I would lower the piano a bit. Awesome track!
Wow sister, you just keep getting better and better!! Just a few tweaks needed to boost this. Steve's right, the song looses momentum around 2.19, then picks up again after the bridge at 2.57. The vox needs a volume boost, but apart from that, you is on to a winner with this one.
Really Good stuff. (and you call me eclectic ;-)) I agree with you on the vocals there is a part where it gets too soft in the mix. But you have created a nice minimalistic sound-scape for these pellas to thrive in. I might think about backing down just a tiny bit on the mix with the piano, and maybe consider using very sparsely a pad (like vickydan uses) softly fading in and out around the 2:20 area, just like a whisper of a hint of ambience. Otherwise I think you have the workings of a great song here, I'm impressed!
Steve
Haha - yes one might call this eclectic. ;)
Yet, listening to it after one nights sleep I find the melody too monotonous, too much piano - should have been some other instruments playing the same melody somehow...or something completely different, to keep the interest.
I seem always to think a song is finished when it really isn't!
Well anyway - thank you, Steve, for your REALLY encouraging words and the advice with volume and pads! I'll look in to that.
Have a nice day!
Love this track. Its very clever, reminds me of early Elton John but with such a modern feel. As for genre dont worry. When bands in the 60's & 70's were making songs longer than 3 mimtes and 20 seconds they were interested in the story, not the "target audience"!
Wow - thank you!!
I had to listen to some early Elton John for comparison and I think you mean the piano? Well, I don't hear the similarity - my work is ridiculous in comparison but it's a great thing to say so thanks for that! I need a confidence boost for sure.
I actually have no idea of what I wanted to do...it just became this way. Sometimes the songs go where they want to go, I'm not in charge.
The fingersnapping sounds are in the one borrowed loope I used but I'm considering a version with no drums at all. (Hmm...it's probably never gonna happen anyways, I tend to move on to the next projekt when one is semifinished and never look back.)
But thanks for listening!
Oh Yes....who cares what genre it is....its dm good....dash of soul....sprinkle of R&B...dab of chill..lots of creativity....well done SJ....I really like this one big time....Ed
Not bad....not bad at all! In fact it's fantastic! Great intro, piano and string work as well! I like songs with uniqueness. I give this an A grade. Nice work SJ! Dan.
Very interesting, SJ. You got me on the genre, too! Maybe avant garde? Like Darkreine said, "Who gives a ****." We just finished one with the same pella of Bonnie's. It's worlds apart from your fine track, though. Two totally different interpretations.
Isn't it peculiar how different the same pella actually can sound in every new song? I get surprised every time.
Anyhow - looking forward to hear your interpretation.
Thanks for listening! Avant garde? Let's call it that. =D
This is the most abstract rendition I've heard... and it's amazing!!!! So unique! I don't even know where I would begin... the interweaving bits here and there.. the panning was the cherry on top! I agree with Kenny, this doesn't need any genre labels, this is art!
My heart stopped for a moment when I saw your comment but I think it's pounding again...
Now I feel like I won a gold medal or something!!
Thanks - so relieved that you actually liked it.
Also thank you for sharing your talent to the rest of us. It's your voice that makes things amazing.

For me it's going in my Chillout file, as i found it real chilled more than Dance, but thats just my personal liking!
Great use of loops,I can tell your working hard to refine things,so dont worry as its sounding great.!
The main thing is the enjoyment you get,and not always how perfect music has to sound.!
No Track is perfect ever even for famous artist's,
as music is never static.
It breaths what ever life you put in to it.!.
Good Track man!
