bending the rules mate, the first section is very thought provoking, soft and calming, then we get the joker letting of steam, great vocal, love the delay with reverb the percs and one hits are great love that female groove mate, great outro sequence. great mix Cru its epic creative and fresh
Thank you, it's a little strange in that it starts out epic and then hits you with that groove, and then finishes how it started. Halloween tracks you can get away with more creativity and rule-bending.
Oh Yeah - builds really nicely and for sure has a cinematic scope to it with cross rhythms and melodies and new elements interweaving to create a real sense of drama and movement. Seamless transitions and gorgeous sound production as usual.
this just gets fuckin astonishing. the opening section comes from inside a generator, and the extended variations that make up the body are a great workout, they deliver on the concept. but that close is stealing it, man — very unexpected turn that zeros in a more somber vision, incredibly moving seconds, dude. this is groovy stuff.
love that intro Steven, that little teaser at .31 then boom at .40, nice foleys, but that beat tho, great synths, nice variation 3.02 stabs at 3.19 great shaker cymbals are all on point and that soulfull playout. great work mate
Well I figured since it was you this wasn't going to be your standard reggae sun splash. And sure enough, this has an urgency and a cinematic vibe that is a long way from that. Great track!
Oh so this is what reggae is going to sound like in the future... Cool! I'll take it. Sweet track mate, particularly enjoyed the trade off of synth voices throughout the song, kept it interesting while still giving each one a chance to shine. Very deftly handled.
When Cruce says he's having fun, you know you're going on a trip. And what a trip it was! Really awesome and interesting! Lovely groove - just a bit sudden ending? Maybe put a "needle rips over record" sound there to show it's intentional?
Love it Steve!
Lol, always having fun mate, life is to short... So the ending was purposeful, I wanted it to end like you fell off a cliff (slight touch of the verb) but you make a good point with the scratch-ending trope.
Hey Cru, this is a really cool track. The slightly out of tune piano sample and the way its edited actually makes the piece kinda tonally ambiguous. Please forgive the pretentious term but it's all I've got lol. Anyway this one challenged me and held my interest the whole time. Well done!
Back story: one of the Vlogs I watch on youtube always plays this detuned piano soft background music when she is not speaking. So to me, it's like the new elevator music. I wanted to incorporate synth sounds, even a nod to chiptune and opening with a Phonk like feel with that feelof the old-school beats and some new school mixing.
What's up Steven?
Ah, hip hop? Not ur norm. Cool!
Hey awesome orchestration. Clean clap!
