Well, I hadn't heard the original so I had to listen to it before your track. Thx for providing the link.
I thought the original was brilliant. I love 8 bit and thought Jeicee produced an excellent track.
Then I wondered how you're track would compare. Fantastic! Take this the right way I hope, but it sounds like Pet Shop Boys did a remake :) I kept waiting for Neil Tennant's vocals to start at some point, haha.
You reproduced this so well while still maintaining true to the original. And very cool lead. Although the production is very clear, your lead kinda sounds and feels retro, which is awesome! All those bends, I could picture someone playing it on one of those stand up guitar/synth keyboards that where popular in the 80s.
Great work. Your quickly becoming one of my favs :)
Great that you did listen to the original track first. I really hope that people understand that this is a remix.
Good old Pet Shop Boys you said... What an honor!
My intention was to maintain the original sound and feeling and just add some additional effects and supporting sounds and of course a cool lead with sliding sound and bending notes.
yes one could picture a long haired guy with fluffy hair style jumping around the scene playing the lead. :)
Hey! This is super, and a lot of fun ha. I think you did a great job here and it's nice to just sit back and groove out. Sweet deal man I loved it.
-Charlene
Beautiful rich sound all round .. pun not intended :) My fav type funky bass and the pads mixed with the 8-bit hook and then to the party zone .. very well structured and editing is faultless .. Congratulations :) Def fav
The bass was to much in the background on the original sound track so i had to use some equalizer to bring it forward, like more to the old time "in your face" bass. Nice that you named the latter part for the party zone, I liked that!
Well chill out aint really my area but i see this has recieved quite a lot of attention already. It's easy to see why as were straight in with some nice soloing. Are those synths or is that a real sax? It sounds very authentic and i need to get me one of those. This is really great, there's no two bars the same and i like the retro feeling of the backing track.
I really enjoyed this piece of tunage!!
FR
Man, this is brilliant! cant say how much better than your other material cause I dont recall hearing your music before, I'll have to go back and listen.
But this one stands on its own. The sounds, the vibe, it;s all there. One complaint, too short, lol.
I try to do the best i can every time i release something new. Im a bit scared of bring vocals to my tracks, but maybe some day I will manage to conquer my biggest fears.
Yeah! I haven't been listening to this track in a while and now I can put some reflections to it. One reflection is that it makes me happy and I just wanna dance.
Very Very good sound you have created here. Funky yet refined and tasteful. Then you kick our arses with that synth solo sound via Ultravox! and Pete Bardens. And then there is a nice distorted synth with some awesome pitch-bends. very nice work indeed. You get a fav for an awesome arrangement bridging many styles and sounds together.
Steve
You're too kind! You know i grew up with the sound of Ultravox and i have some kind of a cover of Dancing With Tears in my eyes on the Commodore 64. The funny thing was that i did not have the actual recording myself so i had to memorize the tune before i tried to create the cover.
I'm pretty sure that all my influenses is from the 80's
I agree that this is the best thing I've heard from you.
Classic synth sound and melody right from the start. That bassy synth really moves in a very smooth and seductive way It's a little bit 'liquid'.
0:29 drop is good. I'm not so keen on the top layer new chord part. It sounds a bit too predictable to me but works fine in the song.
0:42 a classic synth lead playing a good lead melody and sort of solo.
1:13 drums get another layer added so are a bit more intense now. Bass still sounds cool.
1:42 seems like the drums have dropped out a bit too early. Should maybe be 10 secs longer.
You additional drumming at the end makes some difference but I was expecting some bigger fills. Not a problem though as it all works just fine.
I like the fadeout ending too as the beat ends and we hear the different elements decaying. I think there's some guitar in there as well. However, you could let it decay for just a few seconds more.
And here we have it. The post from the one and only? Static Nomad. Always thoughtful and well placed notes from the tune. I just love it.
When I first read this post I was smiling a lot because you always expects greater fill-ins and louder drums, and I think I'll get there as long as you keep on comment on my tracks.
Anyway, thank you for listening and thanks for the comment, you know I appreciate them.
I told you sometimes this retro thing but this is your magical style and you are one of the best (if not the best) in this...
Epic track, yes, your best...
(Not too loud?) :-)
Danke, your words really gives me the inspiration!
This retro thing must be an inheritance from all the time spent in front of the commodore 64 in the late 80's when i was trying to create songs with only 3 channels.
Thank you for letting me know your thoughts about my style :)
Cool track has a nice bounce to it, some tasty solo lines....
Good Mix, not sure about your best, only because I haven't
heard all your songs....
But this one has a solid feel to it...
This sounds really good. It's got a retro 80's kind of vibe to it which i like. the soloing is really good with some nice ARP's. I think you might be right about this being your best piece yet. I enjoyed it very much.
FR
Yeah, you know I was born in the 70's and raised with music from the 80's. Duran Duran, Ultravox, Kim Wilde, Howard Jones, Alphaville on the one side and The Police, Madness, David Bowie (let's dance album) and Magnum on the other side. What a mix!
I like the percussion and the moving bass-line. I must agree that the synth sounds might not completely fit this tune, But it's a real interesting song nonetheless. And I enjoyed it just the same.
First off, let me say you've created some awesome rhythms in this track! Personally I like the second part of the track best, it seems very expressive. As far as the synthesizer sounds go, they feel a little bit outdated and/or overused, but don't take that the wrong way... because you've played them very well! I just find that some of the really old synthesizers that have been sampled to death have a really dated sound, and thus prefer hearing sounds that I haven't heard before. There are of course exceptions. Keep doing what you're doing though, because it was an enjoyable listen!
Thank you! Sorry for late reply, I was not aware of all comments on this track. Yeah, I know what you speak about, and I remember the times spent on trying to sample the synth sound to my amiga back in the 90's.
Anyway thanks for listening and thank you for your time spent on analysis and write the creative feedback.
Two hours after i've had a couple of beers and a glass of wine i've normally had another six beers.
The bassline is cool in this piece but the soloing is fantastic. Again it has that kind of retro feel to it with some nice piano's going on.
I did think it could use a little boost of trebble in places but other than that i enjoyed listening to this track
Very good! I couldn't really tell if there were 2 tracks fused together. Everything was so well blended. Nice track you have here. Love the synth work the best. Thanks for sharing this. Definite fav. Dan
I am big fan of your work and this is no exception, whilst I can see where Danke is coming from, I would call this fresh vintage if that makes any sense!! A great job with the transition between the two tunes, this is synth music at its best. Thumbs up Anders.
ok... big fan of my work.. I really hope you understand how much those words mean to me, and the following "this is synth music at its best" is out of this world.
