Hey Orlando

good presentation of an electronic melodic and calm.

relaxed as the night.

minimix high quality, you have made a good use of money.

you are the reference electronic music, is a good option to listen to their electronic, which were assembled by loops or not.
anyway is always energizing.

sounding good mate, if I can make a suggestion? that bass line at the beginning fits really well with the vocal, if i was remixing i would bring it right up and let it do the buisness and build a whole track round them both. The second part sounds more tech house, or prog even! Money well spent anyway! Long live the mini mix!!

The trouble is that i didn't actually do anything on this track. I tried a few things which failed miserably and just sounded really cheesy (or like custard even). So the whole thing was just made out of loops. I keep having a go to see if i can come up with something but thus far nothing has worked.
But you're right. I should go back to making one track at a time again. Maybe i'll try sticking her through the vocal slicer and mucking about with that.
Cheers for dropping in anyway.

Hey FR

Mate very nice deep house piece, excellent vocals used, nice drive and vibe about the piece, for a track that is over 10 min long, stays interesting for the whole trip, as always excellent clarity matey, sounding excellent on lap top speakers, which means that it is good, nice beat and bass used, very housey sounding synths, always enjoy your works but enjoying your works more and more lately, as you keep going to another level with each track buddy...Very good listen, fav for sure matey...Peace n Respect friend...Mosaic...

Thanks mate but i can't really take much credit for this beacause i didn't do ANYTHING on this track. The whole thing is just looops and samples.
I tried to put some of my own vibes on it but nothing i wrote seemed to fit. I'm still trying to jazz it up but haven't found anything that works yet.
Cheers for listening.

For a bunch of loops basically just thrown together, it's pretty good, man. All the synths and sounds compliment the vocals well. The only thing I have for it, if you ever decide to go back to it, is to add that personal touch at the 5:04 mark, and maybe match the reverb on her voice in the first and second parts. The dry vocals in the second section don't quite fit the flow. Other than that, "Cool track, bro!"

Take care.

Thanks man, I didn't spend a lot of time on it so perhaps a little TLC might help it along. I basically just searched for loops that were in the right key and then planted her over the top of it. It was only a few hours work.
Thanks for tuning in.

Dude the first section is dope. Love everything but then it just goes into a different song. Too drastic of a change. It sounds like the samples you hear on websites selling sample paks. This is the trouble with purchasing these paks.
I would suggest you work more with the first section and save the rest for another track.
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 25th May 2014 - 11 years ago
It is samples from a loop website so it's exactly what it is. I was just messing with some loops and vocals but got bored with trying to find things that worked. I'm still working on it now though so hopefully it will sound better when i've finished.
I purposely made it into two (and a half) tracks as well as i'm out of space on my profile and just trying to squeeze as many tunes as i can into one.
But peeps seem to prefer the first part so i might just make it into one.
Cheers for stopping by.

The vocal track is very cool, hope you got a boat load of samples. They are mixed well with the music in the first part. I liked the laid back feel to the first part.

As the second half started I was not getting into it as much but as it went along it really started growing on me. Now it could just be the beer kicking in but then I was chilled out in my chair to end the song a little mellowed out. Each part has a distinct feel and basic always works for me. Well done!!

If i'm brutally honest i didn't spend a lot of time on it. It's all just loops and her accapella's. Perhaps it needs a more personal touch huh. Yesterday it just seemed like whatever i wrote wasn't working so i just went f**k it! and chucked a load of loops together.
Thanks for checking it out Wayne.

I like this track alot! The beginning needs some work (the synth needs to be louder) but then it progresses to be a great track. I definitely like this track around the 5:04 mark, dubstep comes to mind.

Thanks mate, that 5:04 i wasn't to sure about if i'm honest. But you're right it needs a few extra layers. I didn't spend much time on it, it's all just loops so perhaps it needs a more personal touch.
I shall revise it.

You know I`m not a good source of any kind of advice on House (or the electronic genres in general) FR...but this sure is a smoooooth listening bit of music you knocked up...if it only took you a couple of hours thats even more amazing...some nice variations to hold the interest....you can put this one in most any genre and I would still like it (its the first 9 min mix I`ve listened to all the way through in a long time)....its kind of picture-painting stuff..would almost make soundtrack backing for the right video...good job.....Ed

I read that you used loops from loop packs to do this. I was surprised when I bought Audition it came with 5,000 loops with beds of loops. I did a few songs a few years ago with them and they are posted here, as a matter of fact one of them is one of my most downloaded. I have no problem with using loop packs. Sometimes the songs come together fast i noticed and you can create some cool and interesting songs that way.

I don't listen to this type of music unless here on the loop. It's not a busy song but enough going on to keep me interested. I also thought the blip noise could have used some more effects like reverb as radioilluminati suggested.

Cool track, good vibe before I head off for some treatment on my back.

FreeRadical replied 20th May 2014 - 11 years ago
Yeah i've been using loads of loop packs just lateley. Because purchased loops are done on propper synthesisers you can get loads of sounds that just aren't possible to make on your DAW (or your window for that matter)
Before, i used to write everything but i guess i'm getting a bit lazy in my old age.
Cheers for dropping in and hope you get your back sorted out dude.

Word. I make tracks this long and much longer but I certainly don't knock them up in a couple of hours so well done there. Yes, I'm not using loop packs (at all) but you still must be working damn fast.

Intro is pretty cool and it could turn into any sort of funky dance music from there.

Nice fadein of drums with strings joining in too.

1:30 additional ambience is cool and very laid back and far out.

2:00 big delay and bass breakdown.

3:15 new bassline and this section is fairly sparse but is a good head nodder for chilling out.

Top level delayed parts reverberate nicely around the space you've created.

I think I'll give this some further thoughts and suggestions later as it is longish and can no doubt be tightened up and improved.

Good stuff - especially for people into dance music who like chilling.

FreeRadical replied 20th May 2014 - 11 years ago
It's like a picture puzzle. Once you've found the corners the rest just slots into place. I did invent some of it so it's not all just loops probably about 25% of it was of my own doing so it was just a lazy track really.
I could add more but i can't be arsed to sit there scratching my head for hours figuring out what works.
Cheers for dropping in.

The intro was from prime loops "synth addict" pack and most of the other parts are from their "indigo house grooves" pack. I just did the bass, the synth, the strings and the ambient effects. Like putting a puzzle together really.
Glad you could drop in and listen to the track.

I think first step is to find a singer/rapper that sound mainstream like the City Lights track.

If someone keeps it mainstream, it can be picked up by the mainstream herd and over time, you can train them to listen to more non mainstream.

Mainstream is dumbed down music so we need people to raise the bar! Serve humanity. Make mainstream!
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 20th May 2014 - 11 years ago
The trouble is i just don't like mainstream music very much, it's either irritating, played to death until it gets irritating or just wishy washy, soppy, teenage shite.
If i liked it i'd have no problem making it but it seems like a chore so i don't bother.
Maybe one day i'll do something a bit like "gang nam style" or whatever that tune was called.
Cheers again for commenting.

Sounds really good! It could be interesting to hear some of your work where you focus on making radio friendly and mainstream music.

Just an idea. What if you used more reverb on the blip sounds at 6:15
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 19th May 2014 - 11 years ago
Thanks. Most of this track is just purhased loops and i just fill in the gaps. It's a little like painting by numbers really. I keep telling myself i've got to do something more "popular" but i just love dance music (even though this one's not very dancy)
Perhaps one day i might do something more mainstream.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving comments on this very quickly cobbled together piece of music.

Thanks man, i was pleased with the way that this one turned out, probably the best track i've written for ages if the truth be told. Perhaps i should do more d&b as it usually turns out pretty good. Well i say that but i've made some pretty shite ones as well in my time.
