Hiya Jon, thanx loads for the listen & reveiw my friend. This is probably one of my least "cluttered" tracks. I so often suffer from audio bloat when working but I tried to keep this one simple. Thanx again for your kind words mate. Really appreciate them.
Strong track! I like the used samples, especially that vocal sample, which reminds me to cool house stuff on the Amiga computer. Very well done! I would have downloaded it, if possible. cheers
Hiya Hiro thanx for the listen & reveiw my friend. Greatly appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you would a copy send me a mail & I will send you an MP3 of it. Kind words indeed mate and thanx again.
Well i can see why this has got loads of comments already. It's a bit old school and then it isn't. It keeps strutting from one thing to another. i love the choice of percussion and the bass is heavy.
What is that metal sheened sample saying by the way?
Does it really matter? No! the track rocks!
FR
Thanx again for such a lovely reveiw Free. LOL not sure what you mean about the metal sheen tho' ? Ha ha something along the lines of "o o o yeah, I saw you over there", TBH I ain't got a clue! It was a vocal sample that I found then put loads of effects onto. Yup I went drum & percussion mental on this one and loved every moment of it. My friend I really appreciate you taking time to listen & reveiw. Peace, love & justice to ya mate.
Haunting and very danceable Visionary I want to hear this again when you finish it. Pumping thru my speakers nicely. You know when you walk into a club and you look round to gauge the atmos and you see some beautiful girl dancing with her eyes closed but arms waving in a snake like motion and looking sexy - this is that track.
Thanx so much for the listen & reveiw DJ-KP I really appreciate it. To tell the truth I'm waiting for the sun to shine and the temperature to rise in my lil corner of Kent before I reapproach this one. For me it's a sunshine track and needs some more to inspire me before I attempt anymore on it. Saying that I like the visual imagery the track gave you. Thanx again mate.
This is a very modern and adventurous take on the blues. I love it. Great stuff. I really like this very much. It takes me well out of my comfort zone and that's a good thing for me. Top job. It's so very reassuring to hear the blues taken to new horizons and done so well.
Hi Richie my friend good to hear from you and thanx loads for taking time to listen & reveiw. Nice to know I strecthed your ears on this one. Thats a big compliment that I have taken a genre and made a talented muso such as your self re-evalute the way a type of music can sound. As I said to MS I enjoyed making this and was pleased with the final take but it's all down to Patricia sharing the 'pella. Again mate I really appreciate your comments here and I feel very humbled by them.
MS my friend, your comments on my stuff make my day and I really appreciate them.
Gotta be honest this is one of my favourite bits of work I've done in awhile. Obviously Patricia's vocal inspired it but I'm really chuffed with how this turned out. Thanx so much for listening & reveiwing and, again mate, thanx for the lovely things you say.
I always like a fellow musician who's not afraid to venture into different genres and show a bit of diversity.
This sounds really old school mate, Like the stuff from the 90's and i dig this funky groove.
It's great when a vocal just works isn't it. Doesn't happen very often.
Don't suppose you'd be up for me doing a remix of this would ya?
FR
Free my friend you are more then welcome to remix this, or any other track available for download. If you want a non- download track let me know mate. I would like to be able to say I could send you the stems but I still ain't worked out how to do that yet.
Thanx so very much fot the listen & reveiw Free. It is much appreciated. This was one of the 1st tracks I done with a full vocal on it and to have it recognised is a big up for me. Again thanx so much for taking time to check things out.
Sorta reminds me of some old skool Moby or My Life With The Thrill Kill Cult (ie, Moby's Next Is The E song). As for tempo, its more of a guideline than a standard-of-practice IMO, but I agree this is a bit to "up" to be classed as traditional House (thinking more like Techno, especially with who this reminded me of above). Dunno, maybe that's a direction you could take this instead (as the pace & energy of this is nice as is). Suggestions, hmm, for extending this I'd start right around whre you've got that one snare roll (right before it, actually) and work on fading stuff out (ie, synth) and then throw in some spots of minimal isolation (ie, bass+synths only followed by a drums+synth only spot and so on). Might also consider adding some pads or strings to make the mix fuller (a good intro for them would be right after the snare fill). Otherwise, this is pretty solid. Keep hammerin away at it mate. Lates!
Thanx for taking the time to listen & reveiw Donnie. Much appreciated, as are your observations on how to, maybe, take the track forward. I'm guilty of not having returned to this track yet so I will certainly bear your tips in mind when I do. Thanx again my friend.
It's hard for me to form a well rounded opinion on this as i'm only on crappy speakers with no bass end. What i can hear sounds great though, It's got a real sneak around the dance floor vibe to it which always goes down well with me. A nice array of different sounds and samples going on, nice panning effects and great electronic bassy sounds.
It could do with being a bit longer but i definitely want to listen to this again on a propper system so job well done!
Ah Free my friend, thanx for taking time time to stop by & listen & reveiw. I'm glad you are feeling (if not quite hearing lol) the vibe I am trying to create here. As for the track should be longer suggestion ? Please mate one of my biggest problems is making a track too long. I suffer from audio bloat and am often guilty of producing tracks that, hey I love, but are far too long. I have several tracks that I think are great but are almost 2 days long ! LOL ok I'm exagerating but I am trying to keep my productions slimmed down. But now you mention it maybe I should work on the 9 minute remix of this ha ha ? Serious mate I do appreciate your comments and it means a lot to me being reviewed by another Looper whose work I admire. Thanx again.
Thank you Spiv that is a very kind reveiw my friend. I gotta tell ya mate I enjoyed making this as it had me bouncing around as it came together. Thanx agaain for taking time to listen & reveiw
Thanx again Spiv my friend for such a glowing & kind review. Gotta admit this is one of my faves of my own work & always makes me wanna shake my booty. Thanx for taking time to listen & reveiw mate.
I liked it from the minute i pressed play. I love that rave piano sound and there's some old classic samples going on there.
I reckon you could bring it up a notch by just throwing in a snappy sounding snare drum. Other than that it's wild, it's in key and it's well produced.
I'm glad i stopped by.
FR
Thanx yet again for the kind review my friend. I agree that this track needs a touch more to it. My excuse for not returning to it yet is that I am waiting for the sun to shine to feed me inspiration to do what I need to do to finish it ! Ha ha it's my excuse & I'm sticking to it. I really appreciate your listen & advice FreeR. Peace, Love & Justice to Ya.
This one is my favorite!
It's really impressive that you constructed this out of completely seperate loops.
I love the vocals and strings particularly, filler or nay, I would spin the **** out of this.
Thanx again Doc for such a positive reveiw. Glad you enjoyed the track. As I said in the description I wanted something simple that chuggs along and I do feel I acheived that with this track. I really appreciate you taking time to listen & review my stuff my friend. Peace, Love & Justice to Ya .
been listening to tosh, marley, and the wailers since in-utero.
Have you heard of turbulence? His kind of voice would fit nicely.
Your mixing is flawless, and even with the mellow vibe, it's got a serious edge to it. The bassline and bright guitar really pull me in.
Do you do reggae often?
It seems like you really know what youre doing.
Thanx for that Doc. Such a positive vibe for one of my favourite tracks. I don't do reggae that often. I think maybe 4 of my uploaded tracks are that genre. But it's a genre I love. Been listening seriously to reggae since I was about 13. A long time now lol and I really appreciate the fact that you have felt my love of the sound. My friend your reveiw has made my day thanx.
Glad to see some new house from you dude :) Starts out nice n smooth like..
When you start to build up the percussion there's a little bit of clashing like one loop is ever so slightly out of step or something.. but I could be wrong - in fact after listening again I think I am lol.
The change up's in the percussion gives a little something extra.. Other than that there's not much else to say other than good job mate! :)
Thanx for that kind review Wonki my friend. As ever coming from a fellow Looper whose work I respect it means an awful lot. Your right about the jarring bit though but given my age I'm not sure if it is a mistake or I meant it ha drool, ha. Cheers mate as always your input makes my day.
Thanx for the listen & review Xta my friend, also the technical tips. Work in progress that I will get back to & Loopers like your-self offering help & advice are much appreciated mate. Peace, Love & Justice to ya.
Download :) thnx for this great tune, love this vibe, great mix to!
wunders whats this melodica sound you used at the start, haha..looking for that for long time. Thnx again visionarysoundsystem, Bless
Thanx for the great review Redgold. Glad you enjoyed the track enough to download it. The start of the track is a sample called DubK4FanOrgan (take it thats the bit uou mean? The 1st 10 seconds or so?). I have stuck some effects on it and used a melodic progression. If your intrested drop me a message and will sort it for you my friend. Respect.
I missed this one the last time I was here VSS.? sHIT THIS IS VERY GOOD .. REALLY OL'SKOOL DUB, LATE 70'S .. fRIGGING lOVE IT pAL. me & you need to connect with the Producing at some point VSS? NICE work.
Would love to connect with you my friend and bounce ideas about and see what could happen. Glad you enjoyed this and got what I was trying to acheive. Thanx for the listen & review mate. Peace, love & justice for you
I agree with wongkishoo (Shit that's Suggestive) about having a snappier kick of the like's. it just need's to be consistant with the beat .. apart from that VSS .. AN ABSALUTE CLASS OF A TRACK Pal. Beautiful Atmosphere with a very wide range of well placed sounds .. Brilliantly Produced VSS. Respect.
Moses my main dude there is always room for improvement and the feed back I recieve helps me to improve, I hope. Must admit I haven't visited this track in awhile but what you & Wonky/Toonz have advised has made me think hmmmmm maybe I should take some time out & try a little tinker with this track ? Thanx for that & thanx for bringing me back to a track I like but could be made, better ? Different ? Just added to perhaps ? Cheers mate for the listen & review & advice, appreciated as always. Peace, Love & Justice my friend
Good to see your still killin' it! great jam, i love the change, super smooth and ambient. your page is fun cause you do alot of different styles, the sign of a true music appreciator!
About the genre, it has a house drumbeat if I'm not mistaken, also has some electro basses and percussion. Think it is somewhere from electro / house / experimental. I must say this track has a little bit of everything, seems like you combined a lot of styles in to one. nice
Thanx for that Shobbler my friend, a very kind review. Yup you're right there are a few different genres & styles in this track. Sometimes that can make it difficult to decide what genre it should be posted under. Glad you enjoyed the track & thanx again.
